#858 - Start a group fight
Mr. Tornado's height is approximately two meters, and due to the energy transmission tubes and the armor, the robot's weight is estimated to be comparable to a small tank.
However, despite lacking treads, tires, or other moving parts, Mr. Tornado possesses remarkable mobility, all thanks to his ability to manipulate airflow.
Astonishing winds carried his heavy frame, bringing him before Robin in the blink of an eye. Just as his massive mechanical arm was about to grab Robin's head, the latter suddenly transformed into a blur.
It was Kid Flash. He pulled Robin away from danger at the last possible second, appearing a hundred meters away in just a second.
Mr. Tornado wasn't annoyed by this. Although his primary target was lost, the Young Justice League was clustered together, and he had other enemies to attack.
The robot's information processing speed clearly surpassed that of an average person. The instant Robin vanished, Mr. Tornado redirected his hand to attack Superboy on the right, who didn't have Kid Flash's reaction speed and had no choice but to brace himself.
Superboy barely crossed his arms before Mr. Tornado's iron fist slammed into him. With a burst of pain, Superboy was sent flying, leaving Stargirl alone in place.
Stargirl didn't panic at her teammate's setback. On the contrary, having been tempered by the typhoon, she now possessed the mindset of a warrior. Combined with Black Canary's training, she chose to attack immediately after reacting.
Spinning the Star Scepter, Stargirl focused her gaze and slammed the glowing end towards Mr. Tornado, who didn't retreat but instead erected a wind wall.
The powerful wind force tried to distort Stargirl's attack trajectory, but the even more powerful cosmic energy cut through the invisible wind wall, striking directly at Mr. Tornado.
The latter was shocked that someone could so easily break through his wind wall and was forced to use his arm for defense.
Compared to the arms that housed many important components, the arm used for attacking and manipulating objects was less important. Not knowing the extent of the attack's power, it was better to sacrifice the less vital part first.
"Bang!"
The moment the Star Scepter struck its target, a powerful energy erupted, and Mr. Tornado was immediately knocked back.
This wasn't because Stargirl's energy could directly blow away a robot weighing tons, but because the latter used his ability to control airflow to create distance.
In mid-air, Mr. Tornado quickly assessed the extent of the damage. The results were better than he expected: only the armor on his right arm was slightly damaged, with no significant internal damage.
However, this served as a reminder that the opponent had the ability to approach him easily.
'That's a welcome surprise.' Robin stroked his chin. This wasn't part of his original plan.
However, now that the plan was set, Robin couldn't change his strategy just because of this small change. Instead, he could use this variable as a separate line to restrain the enemy.
'Wonder Girl, you're responsible for working with Stargirl to continuously threaten the enemy with the Star Scepter. The others' missions remain the same. Let the operation begin!'
At Robin's command, Artemis, positioned high above, fired the first arrow.
The sound of the arrow cutting through the air was insignificant compared to the howling wind, but Mr. Tornado still sensed the distant attack based on changes in airflow.
While in the air, Mr. Tornado conjured a whirlwind. He didn't believe that everyone had the ability to counter him; otherwise, these kids would have swarmed him already.
Sure enough, although Artemis's arrow was a special product made by Green Arrow for use in windy conditions, it was no match for the unnatural whirlwind.
The once-straight arrow spun in the air and was about to fall when Wonder Girl, who had been flying in the air, caught it as if the unremarkable arrow was important.
'Hmm?' Mr. Tornado's camera noticed this. After a brief processing by the CPU, he concluded that the seemingly ordinary arrow likely had the ability to deliver a decisive blow.
At this point, he could only think of one possibility: an EMP. This was the only thing that could specifically target robots.
Otherwise, they wouldn't have exposed such a big flaw in the battle just to catch an arrow. However, he couldn't rule out the possibility that they were setting a trap. In any case, he should reserve some processing power to monitor this.
After making the decision, Mr. Tornado no longer chose to engage in close combat as he did at the beginning. He fully utilized his abilities, and gusts of wind swept through the power plant.
The howling wind not only hindered the movements of the others but also blocked their vision. In this situation, it was difficult for Robin and Artemis, who were ordinary humans, to be effective.
Fortunately, Robin had considered this, so the mission for the two ordinary people had already been completed.
Wonder Girl threw the arrow in her hand to the ground, and Superboy caught it. Both of them launched an attack simultaneously, one in the air and one on the ground.
Mr. Tornado's CPU was running at full capacity. In his initial calculations, Wonder Girl in the air was clearly stronger than Superboy on the ground, meaning the threat from the sky was greater than the threat from the ground.
However, this assessment was shattered by the appearance of the arrow. Not knowing if the arrow was a bait, he had to re-evaluate the threat level of the two.
Unable to make a judgment in a short time, he chose to equate the two. Therefore, Mr. Tornado raised both hands simultaneously, and two whirlwinds were launched from his hands.
One aimed at the sky and one aimed at the ground, trying to stop both of them from advancing.
However, when Superboy and Wonder Girl launched their attack, the others weren't idle. Stargirl used her Star Scepter to release a barrier, using it to charge towards Mr. Tornado.
As the most obvious threat, Mr. Tornado clearly wouldn't forget her. Since the whirlwind could be split, he would use something else to stop her.
Under Mr. Tornado's control, several pieces of gravel mixed with various debris were swept up by the tornado and smashed towards Stargirl.
Stargirl had no choice but to stop moving and increase the output of the Star Scepter, strengthening the barrier to resist the attack. Although these debris couldn't penetrate the barrier formed by cosmic energy, they could hinder her progress.
