#864 - Things have changed
Superboy's departure disrupted everyone's thoughts. Although the Young Justice team was worried about him, they still had a mission to complete.
Time was short and the task was heavy. They didn't have time to comfort their friend. Batman ordered them to depart immediately, saying he would arrange for Black Canary to help Conner with his psychological issues.
The group reluctantly boarded the Bio-Ship. Only Miss Martian and Habibi used their telepathy to comfort Conner, but received no response.
After informing Robin and the others, they felt helpless, and could only steel themselves and wait until the mission was complete before finding a solution. They needed to focus all their attention on the task at hand.
"We're approaching Santa Prisca Island," said Miss Martian. "We'll reach the landing point in two minutes."
Hearing this, Habibi stood up from his seat. Robin, who was sitting next to him, took a palm-sized device from his utility belt and handed it to Habibi, who gave Miss Martian an OK sign.
Seeing this, Miss Martian rotated her right hand on the light sphere. The floor beneath Habibi's feet suddenly disappeared, revealing a hole. Due to gravity, he immediately fell out of the Bio-Ship.
Habibi didn't panic. He kept his hands close to his thighs, shooting towards the sea like an arrow. He extended his hands only when he was about fifty meters from the sea.
Like a fish entering the water, Habibi didn't splash much water on the rough sea. If this were at the Olympics, he would definitely get a good score.
Habibi had activated his invisibility ability in mid-air, so no one could detect someone falling from the sky into the sea, even at close range.
As a mutate, Habibi didn't need much oxygen, which was why he could replace Aqualad, an Atlantean, in the task of receiving everyone.
There was no way around it, invisibility was too overpowered in stealth missions.
Habibi's strong physical performance gave him excellent swimming ability. Soon, he saw the barrier net below him. He extended his sharp claws and cut open the thick net without any resistance, and successfully swam into the shallow water.
Quickly reaching the shore, Habibi ran to a huge device resembling a radar, located on the coast, according to the map in his mind. He took out the device Robin had given him earlier.
Habibi tapped the device a few times. After it was fully unfolded, he plugged it into the radar platform. Seeing the red light on the device, he contacted everyone telepathically.
'Come in, I've hacked in and turned off the nearby reconnaissance devices.'
'Roger that.'
Miss Martian naturally responded to Habibi. Soon after, Yang Le felt an unusual wind blowing through the trees around him.
After a while, the Young Justice team, led by Robin, appeared out of thin air, as if a portal had opened and they had walked out of it.
In terms of stealth capabilities, the Martian Bio-Ship was much better than Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet. At least the former didn't allow outsiders to see the pilot advancing through the air in a sitting position.
Wonder Woman once told Yang Le that she didn't think anything of it at first, until she saw a picture in the newspaper of her sitting in the Invisible Jet, after which she abandoned the vehicle.
How did Habibi know about this? Of course, Yang Le, as the main body, told him.
"The first step of the plan has been successful," Robin said, opening his microcomputer. "Now, what we need to do is find the Venom production plant. Before that, everyone turn on their infrared equipment to prevent us from being tracked by the enemy."
Everyone listened and put on their infrared equipment, except for Miss Martian, because her own eyes had this ability, and she could see farther than everyone else.
"Guys," Miss Martian said, looking into the distance.
"There are two teams less than a kilometer away from us, and they're about to meet."
"Bang!"
First, there was a bright gunshot, breaking the silence of the night and alarming the small animals living in the jungle. Then there was a burst of gunfire, and it was clear that the two teams had engaged.
"According to the information Batman gave us, there should only be one force on Santa Prisca Island, and the leader behind this force is speculated to be Bane."
Robin pulled up the information Batman had given him on the microcomputer.
"Bane is a guy who doesn't allow betrayal. The gang he led in Gotham has always been his one-man show. With his personality, all traitors won't live to see the next day."
"In other words, there is now a second force on the island," Aqualad continued to analyze. "At the same time, this force has power that is no weaker than Bane's, or rather, it is able to suppress him."
"Bingo!" Robin snapped his fingers. "This means we may have to face two, or even more, super villains at once. Obviously, Bane is no longer the most dangerous one now."
"I suggest reporting to the Justice League first," Kid Flash offered his opinion. "Although Batman has given us more authority, the current situation has exceeded the original plan too much, and there is a high probability that there will be situations we can't handle."
Robin nodded, that's what he thought too, so he immediately clicked on the communication button on the microcomputer, but found the words 'no signal' on the screen.
"Electronic interference? Heh." Robin showed a helpless smile. "Why am I not surprised at all?"
"Then what do we do now?" Kid Flash asked. "Just get on the Bio-Ship and leave?"
Judging from his expression, although Kid Flash made this conservative suggestion, he didn't want to carry it out at all.
Aqualad didn't speak this time. He could offer suggestions, but Robin was the leader of this team. The leader was the leader. Coming from Atlantis, he knew that he must not speak out at this time to influence the leader's judgment.
"No." Robin looked up after careful consideration. "Young Justice continues the mission."
"Reason," Aqualad didn't rush to refute. He could see that he was the only one in this team who really wanted to retreat, so he had to ask.
Of course, Aqualad wasn't timid. As the most mature-minded person in the team, he had to act like an elder, which was to be the team's brake. He had to step on the brakes for everyone who was losing speed at critical moments.
"We've been through two missions already, and the first two were great, so I believe we have the ability to complete this mission."
Aqualad frowned, this sentence was not enough to convince him.
