The Demon Child - Awakening
Chapter 73 - 73 - Rowan
The silver guards, the king's special protective forces, there were only ten in this division at a time, and they would all be as powerful as me, combined. If I was quick, I could defeat them all in a single hit each, and that is what I planned to do.
The ten guards met up outside of the king's throne room. It was massive the door, at least ten metres high, and everyone apart of Jododam's experiment was there. Knowing the king, he was going to get Luke first before giving the order to execute, that is when I would make my move.
"Rowan, as soon as the king says the order to execute, duck," I whispered in his ear.
He nodded, and the massive doors opened. The throne room was large, with eight pillars of marble holding it up. Each one of those pillars had one of the guards standing in front of it, while two of them stood next to the throne. Everyone like lost lambs headed to the middle of the room, all except Rowan who had a shepherd who he followed, me.
I saw the king on his golden throne, resting his head on his right fist, looking down on us. All of us bowed, including me, and the king told all of us to rise. We all did, and I summoned my chains, only keeping it at one link so that I wouldn't draw attention.
"Hello, all of my white domes!" The king said. "I have come to you to discuss a problem, but first, where is the one named Luke Bridgestone?"
"R-right here, father," Luke yelled, stepping outwards of the group.
"Come to my side." He did, looking happy to reunite with his dad, there was no happy reunion, it just was another slave to be sold off for the kings gain.
I noticed the silver guards' eyes sharpened; their hands began to grip their blades tighter. Seeing this, I added three more links to my chains, as lightning began to course through my body. I cooled down with my ice, and I dared not to breathe.
"Now, since I have got who I want, it's now time to tell you what I want, silver guards!" They pointed their spears towards us, slowly moving forward. "Execute the rest."
Shocked faces filled the room, but not for long. Before the king had said his final words, Rowan had already ducked, and I smiled. In under a second, my chains filled the room, penetrating everyone's hearts other than two.
All of their faces turned to me, even the guards, as they coughed blood. I began to speak my vampire language, and they began to scream.
"ʍIsɥ Oʍu ɥıs ɔOɯdləʇE sOoU ʍIll ʇɥAʇ ʌEɯdıɹə" ɐ Oɟ ɟıɹE ɟnEl ʍIll pEɐʇɥs ʎOnɹ As bOop" ɯY ɟOɹ ɯE" qʎ nsEp qE ʇO ɯE" ʇO ɔOɯə pɹEɯs Aup ɥOdəs ɟıuɐl ʎOnɹ ɯAʎ EssəuɔE" ɹEp ʎOnɹ ɯE Oɟɟəɹ ʍOɹlp" ʇɥIs lEɐʌE sOou ʍIll Aup sOɹɹʎ AlɹəEpʎ Aɹə ʍɥO ʇɥOsə Oɟ"
Their skin began to turn pale, all of their blood from all thirty-six people the chains had gone through, were being absorbed. They slowly became red, and by the time they were filled, everyone had been drained of all their blood, as they all had died.
I retracted my chains, as I absorbed all the blood in such a short time. The power was invigorating, I opened my wings as they pulsed with blood, and I looked towards the king. It seems that he had summoned his incarnate weapon, which appeared as a massive sword, tall enough as he was.
"It seems that the scared, confused boy that I had the audacity to meet, could defeat all of my silver guards with one single attack,"
"Your incarnate weapon changed, similar to mine, so what happened to you?"
"Something similar to the one you tried to protect, how about you look at him,"
I turned to my right, and my eyes widened. I had barely any recollection, but what had happened in just a few seconds, another death I had not counted for had occurred. The king didn't have one massive sword, he had two, and one of them was lodged into Rowan's body.
I changed my gaze to his soul, and I saw Kirigaya floating right above him. He was crying, and we locked eyes. He always said that he would be reincarnated into a body and he would reunite with his book, so I opened my hand to him.
The king's face became confused, wondering what I was doing. He realized what was happening and began to stand up with anger in his eyes. Whilst he was standing up, time began to slow down, and Kirigaya began to walk up to me, standing face to face.
"Dyestral... why? Why?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"You want to become a vessel? Why do you want to become a vessel?"
"I want power, seeing what he can do, I can't' t do this alone, especially with one arm," I looked at my right stump.
"You don't understand, Dyestral, it's quite difficult to do it properly,"
"Does it look like I care?"
"No, but it's dangerous for me to try and merge with you,"
"I knew how close you were with Rowan but," I walked up to Kirigay and hugged him. "You can ask him what he wants you to do,"
Kirigaya turned around, and he saw Rowan's soul, slowly drifting away. Seeing this, he floated towards Rowan and grabbed his soul. Slowly, he opened his eyes and saw Kirigaya crying, something that was rarer than even I, a spirit showing emotions towards someone particular.
"Rowan…" Kirigaya began to sop.
"It's alright, Kirigaya," Rowan slowly closed his eyes. "I was able to hear what you said, and you knew I didn't have much time left,"
Kirigaya nodded. "I know, it's just that,"
"I also wanted the only person who was kind to me, Dyestral, to be your next vessel, and now, it's time for me to move on,"
"No Rowan, don't go!"
"If there is reincarnation, I swear to Drundon, I will find you again, in a stronger body, and we will reunite, but for now, my final words, goodbye everyone, and thank you two, for giving me a new life, that was fun, I am honoured, to be by your sides, until my end." Rowan closed his eyes with a smile across his face.
He turned to dust, floating away in frozen time. Kirgaya walked back to me with a cold gaze, his tears already dried up. He shoved his hands into my body and slowly absorbed into me.
"Perhaps I was wrong about you Dyne, perhaps I judged you too much, you are more special than any other hybrid that I have met, not because of your heritage or your skills but because, you surprised a spirit, that has been around since the beginning of civilization,"
"It's about time," He said, looking behind me.
Hearing that, I turned around and saw someone I had not ever expected. Someone close to me, but further away, the voice of blue fire that had guided my first journey here. Azure had entered the room, with his mask on, with a smile on his face.
