The Demon Child - Awakening

Chapter 84 - 84 - Head and Toe

"So this is your brother and his accomplice?" Alicia asked.

Azure nodded. "Yes, my name is Azure, and this is my partner Marie,"

"A p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you, Alicia, and Dyestral not on the battlefield," She replied.

"By partner, do you mean in business or-" Alicia was cut off.

"Both," The two of them said together.

Azure had given me the book and sat by the fire, eating what I expected to be some sort of recently killed animal carcass, cooked of course. My stomach was empty, so I grabbed a bit of the animal and placed the piece into the fire, before swallowing it.

"No chewing?" Azure asked me.

"No, but thanks for helping me out today," I looked at him.

"I know this sounds farfetched, but Jododam had found me and sent me a letter, to go and help you, offering protection as much as the Blutrot family would allow,"

"You aren't a convict Azure; the most likely is that you would kill me in action as you did once before,"

"True true, but I had a secondary motive, to spark your power surge,"

"What do you mean, impaling me with energy crystals seems to be helping? Killing me in the process, what if I died and never woke up. Is that helping?"

"In a sense, but now the information following will be staying with the five of us,"

"You know about Kirigaya,"

"Yep, I felt a transfer to you from the dead boy," Azure had gotten up, and surrounded us with a sphere made of blue fire.

"I can feel Dysan near us; after all, he was-" He continued.

"He was that black soul that appeared on the island. I could guess that," I replied.

"True, but all we know is that he has a power unrivalled, able to overpower spirits, based on history,"

"Control and alter reality, I'm not sure what that means but based on what I saw with Kirigaya, is that Dysan can appear anywhere, teleport is a better word, and somehow was able to drain Kirigaya probably most of his source," I stood up myself.

"Yeah, anything else you can tell us?"

"...My height, my stature, my physique, pure black skin and white markings, different to mine, he looked almost just like me,"

"Anything that your inner spirit can tell us?"

"This is the final time we can hold him back, afterwards, Dysan will return and wreak havoc on Antrite and Antral,"

"So it seems that my demon ability will not affect Dysan much,"

"What is it exactly? These blue flames?" I asked him.

I can ignite anything on fire, making it burn, making it cold, controlling my flames, but the bad thing is that where it comes from, my soul, it burns there, so my soul ability is that I regenerate it, and,"

"And what?"

Azure put both his hands on his head, and untied his mask, picking it up and pulling it away. "You see Dyestral, I also ran into Dysan, after the island incident, he was the dealer that hired us or his informant was, and as soon as I got the bag full of Rumes, most of my head was erased," Azure threw his mask into the fire, it burns up. "And now look at me,"

"Dysan erased most of my head, trying to end me, even throwing me into the ocean with a ball and chain, but I prevailed, and I made my way towards the king of Onsice and struck a deal with his clouded thinking, which is why I am here now,"

"Well it seems Dysan knew about us, but do you know why he knows us?"

Azure shook his head, so I explained.

"Your father, the one who gifted his soul to save me, was a direct ancestor of Dysan, and he birthed two children that met the criteria to stop him," I explained.

"And also put his blood into humans, did you think that my father knew about this?"

"Most likely, and the two of us meet the criteria which can defeat Dysan, making him try to kill you,"

"It all makes sense now, but how can I help? I know that you will be fighting him the most out of the two of us from now on,"

I turned around, thinking for a moment, shifting my gaze to Alicia, trying to spark a thought. I turned to Marie, again trying to spark an idea, but nothing. I closed my eyes, and I remembered what my wife was.

I turned back around. "This isn't related to fighting but," I stared at Azure. "I want you to check up on my child once a year, on this day, the day of when the city and country of Onsice fell,"

Azure patted my head, before replying. "I will gladly do that for you brother,"

"And maybe you should visit your nephew a little more, Uncle Azure,"

I embraced Azure as a brother, not an enemy for the first time, and I patted him on the head as well. Not surprisingly, his fiery head was not hot or cold, just room temperature. The both of us smiled, as Azure but down his fiery barrier and the two guests slept, as well as Alicia.

When dawn came, the two of them had disappeared, and I woke up Alicia, as we began flying to the destination, which could change my world forever.
