She was a nobles discarded daughter while he, the underworlds most powerful demon. He was used to her cold and indifferent treatment but did not care and continued to call her affectionately.

She was the strongest person he met and not in the physical sense, every fortnight she would suffer from her illness. He could only watch her bite her lips with a ashen face as she curled up on the bed.

His heart ached at the sight of her, however he knew she did not like him, what more than if he tried to help her.

It was understandable, rather it would have been strange if she had fallen in love with the demon she was sacrificed to become a bride for by her "family".

He watched the woman on the bed with warmth in his deep azure eyes before disappearing.

Kagura was deemed to not live a long life. Despite being the legitimate daughter they chose her to become the Demon Kings bride as she would die in her peak, it was better than sacrificing their second daughter.

However he was very grateful, if not for their stupidity he would not have met his little wife and for that he will leave them be for now.

She suffered from an illness that tormented her body every fortnight, it slowly ate away at her life force.

Even though she was intelligent and possessed the beauty of a heavenly deity she was doomed to die, many pitied her, beauties indeed led such tragic lives. So young, so beautiful such a waste. 

Thinking back to the first day he met her, she donned a lovely white dress with wide sleeves and flowery designs. She had nothing but a simple diary in her hands. Hidden in her sleeves was a white jade pendant, a memento of her mother.

However unbeknownst to her, only few knew that this exact pendant was a life jade, this sort of pendant, not even royalty could get their hands on!

She had no memory of her mother as she had died while she was still an infant, leaving only a diary and pendant in a small box hidden well by her mother for her.@@
