She squinted her eyes at him not sure whether he was telling the truth , but then she went inside and left the door open.

" thank you , you're sweet " he said to her after entering the room.

It was night already,Shadow slept on the separate bed in Mia's room . She let him sleep because she just thought that he was tired and fell asleep.

Next morning, the news of another S-rank showing up in the night star academy spread like wild fire .

People from different backgrounds started investigating about Mia's origins but to their disappointment they found nothing except for her username bloody queen . Even when they started investigating about Shadow hoping he'll lead them to Mia's family, they found nothing either . It was strange yet delightful. They started preparing different strategies on how to approach her , as they would never let such an opportunity slip from their hands .

Mia woke up and saw Shadow's bed empty

'He must've returned back to his room' she said to herself

She went to the bathroom to take a shower when she was surprised to see Shadow wearing jeans while his chest was naked . He was drying his hair after finishing taking a bath .

Mia stared blankly at his six pack that was glowing due to it being wet .

"Ahmm" she composed herself.

"What are you doing here ? Don't you have your own room?" She asked him

" well to be honest with you, i got kicked out by my girl roommate. She seemed to be the angry-type person and I happened to be tired so I didn't have time to quarrel with her and came here" he shamelessly explained his side of the story.

"Something fishy here but I don't really care just leave as soon as possible " she said to him before going to the bathroom.

"Don't worry I'll settle my problem with her today I promise" he exclaimed.

He went out and did his daily quest .

Author's note: until now i changed this thing's name multiple times but I'll stick with visual field from now on . Sorry for the inconvenience .

Shadow was wearing black jeans with black T- shirt and black leather coat . His face was covered with a stylish tight black mask that only showed a pair of two ocean blue glowing eyes . His silky black hair was let loose as it reached his legs coupled with it's thickness , he was captivating .

He was looking at the holographic screen with the multiple options in front of his face

- challenge an opponent same as your cultivation level ( win reward : 20 silver coins)

- challenge an opponent randomly ( win reward : depends on the opponent's cultivation level )

- Enter a random competition for cultivators under the sky realm level ( win reward: 1 golden coin )

There were more options but they were darkened . It was obvious that they were for a higher cultivation realm.

' I'll enter a random competition for the time being and see how my luck is going to play out' he said before choosing the second option

Suddenly , he was teleported to an arena in a big hall with some audience present at the spectator's seats to watch.

In the middle of the arena there was a petite girl with dirty blonde hair clad in Blue and white uniform . She held a white bow in her hands and arrows hooked on her back. A huge screen was in the middle of the stadium-like hall , it showed the girl's name "Rita" and the number of wins 5/10 she got .

Clearly she had to have 10 consecutive wins to win the competition.

"Wow, Rita is amazing , she's been holding her spot tightly"

" i know right " even though she's at the 5th stage of the spirit realm and was supposed to be tired from her early matches , she still defeated someone at the 5th stage of spirit realm"

"Yeah and th-what the hell is that?"

The spectators were discussing the events of the competition which mostly was Rita defeating her opponents when all of them stopped talking and being shocked by the sudden appearance of the black figure .

" oh my god he looks like a devil yet still looks so cool-ah wait his username is actually devil "

" how can he design his character like that ? I've never seen someone do that before"

"Maybe it's a new feature that was added recently "

The audience went into an uproar after seeing Shadow . He didn't look like the typical other participants as he was able to hide his face .

" please take care of me , this is my first time challenging someone " Shadow said with a smile behind his mask.

No one questioned Shadow's words as there was a special feature that lets people check the other's profile and see the total matches with the win/lost result .when they checked Shadow's they were surprised to see him telling the truth as this was his first match ever , not even a one-on-one match he participated .

"Is he crazy ? How come he join a competition when he's never played before?" One of the spectators voiced his thoughts out loud .

It was impossible for anyone to use another account, so even if people used another visual field , they would still be linked with their account automatically .

Before Shadow participated in the system , he was concerned about this feature. He didn't want people to recognize his identity for the time being because the more surprised people were by his abilities the more Dominance points he got and he knew that all the academies used the visual field as part of their teaching courses , but for his convenience the system told him that one of bracelet's features that he could use more than one account .

"Hmm?" Rita tilted her head to the left as she was wondering what's going on with this opponent's behavior and strange appearance .

Start!!!>>> the robotic voice indicated the start of the match .

The petite girl Rita wasted no time , as she shot 3 arrows towards Shadow's direction

Whoosh >> the arrows moved at a fast speed but Shadow didn't even bother to even lift a finger as he let them collide with his steel-like body .

' time to test my defense prowess' he said

Plop chak!!

The arrows hit Shadow's shoulders, chest and abdomen, but they fell to the ground as if they hit a wall .. no even a normal wall would be pierced by these arrows as the girl was using a rank 2 weapon.

' Is he using a body strengthening technique?' This was the question that Rita and everyone present had in their mind.

" don't tell me that this is how you defeated your opponents by using these toys " Shadow said with a disappointed voice.

" you dare to look down on me?" She exclaimed feeling insulted by his words .

"Then let me look up to you , but don't worry if you couldn't do that in the arena, you will still be able to do that somewhere else" Shadow said with sincerity in his voice.

"He's done for"

"Does he not know who she is?"

" I really liked him , but i guess her family will hunt him down before the end of the match "

People conversed between each other after listening to Shadow's words .

They knew Rita came from a powerful background and it was easy for them to track his location in no time , but they didn't know how disappointed they will be after knowing that Shadow is untraceable .
