The Demon Shadow

"D-Don't, my famil-y they will kill you if you do something to me " Nancy struggled to utter these words as she thought this is her last card she can play to prevent him from killing her.

"Your family?" Shadow chuckled upon hearing her threat .

"I think you should listen to her" a voice rang from within the audience .

"Oh really , you think so?" Shadow tilted his head to the side to see who was that just spoke .

The young man who just spoke had a familiar red head , he was Eric .

Eric kept staring at Shadow with a murderous gaze but didn't say anything.

"So you mind telling me who are you again?" Shadow asked.

"I'm Eric Raven , we are from the Raven family, one of the nine great families, you must've heard about us " Eric said .

"Oh .." Shadow was a little surprised after knowing who Eric was .

"Seeing your reaction i guess you recognize our family. you should now release her as she's from the Raven family as well " Eric said .

Shadow turned his face to look at the paled Nancy and smiled " after all you were a Raven huh, why didn't you tell me so earlier . I would've acted in a more appropriate way with you " he said sounding sincerely.

To everyone's surprise Shadow suddenly turned his face back and looked at Eric

"And what if i don't release her?"

Eric was a little surprised to hear Shadow's response"In that case , I'll have to make you do it myself " Eric said

"Hoho so scary , why don't you come and let me see how are you going to do that exactly "

Shadow said sarcastically.

Eric felt a little disappointed as he had to make enemies with the only dark summoner just so he can save the face of his family.

Even though he thought Nancy wasn't worth it , he couldn't let her die in front of him as that would tarnish their reputation.

He wasn't afraid of Shadow at all , he thought he's way behind him in cultivation as he was a third stage earth realm cultivator , but he knew that no matter the results today , the family won't be happy about it.

" Let her go , I'll be your opponent instead " Eric said .

He was confident in defeating Shadow but still wanted to rescue Nancy first .

"Oh you want her ? You should've told me that earlier . Here take her " Shadow said after throwing Nancy to him .

Eric caught her in the air but to his surprise, she was headless.

Shadow had already burned most of her neck . She was hanging in the air due to Shadow's grip and was dead for quite sometime now.

"Oh sorry this fell accidentally . Here take it please " Shadow acted innocently as he throw back the head to Eric.

Eric's eyes were bloodshot . He was furious and embarrassed at the same time .

It was a big slap in the face for him.

" You brought this upon yourself " Eric said angrily before dashing at Shadow with a great speed . He wanted to humiliate him for what he's done .

'This idiot has never changed , he's still acting all arrogant and haughty sigh . As a former member of the family, it's my duty to discipline him ' Shadow said inwardly with a big on his face .

Maya , Mia ,Grace and Samantha were all watching what's going on from the sides . they all except for Mia thought that Eric was protecting the family name and he was capable of handling Shadow even though Shadow had the dark affinity .

Eric wasn't a normal 3rd stage earth realm cultivator. even though he wasn't as talented as Maya , he was still considered a genius in and outside the family.

Maya who was watching the scene thought it was unfortunate for the family to lose the chance of forming a good relationship with the dark summoner. She even thought Eric is going to kill him and might be some consequences for that but still she didn't really care that much .

After Shadow died , her father told her that their enemies killed him and he died fighting but was too weak to defend himself. Edgar didn't say that Shadow was ambushed on his way to the branch family . He told his family the news of Shadow's death after a year of his departure and that he was killed by some assassins.

Maya was devastated after knowing this but it came as a great motive for her to get stronger and stomp on those who oppose the family.

She was just a young girl , so it was easy for her father to manipulate her thoughts. That's why she grew up with a mindset of protecting the family first .

Maya couldn't recognize Shadow at all and after not knowing his name , she didn't really care that much about him.

Both Grace and Samantha were nervous about the current events. Both of them knew that Shadow was Mia's acquaintance which made them more nervous after learning of the fact the both of these geniuses are from a mysterious background.

They didn't want to offend Mia as well for hurting Shadow and that's why they were inspecting her face expressions and whether she was going to interfere in this matter .

What they didn't know actually was that Mia had completely other thoughts .

She was watching Shadow wipe Nancy and her group with an amused expression but once she noticed Eric claiming Nancy as one of the Raven family , she frowned knowing Shadow wouldn't let her go anyway and that would mean , there will be a fight between him And Eric .

Even though she didn't care about Eric , she still appreciated her short breakfast time with Grace .

Mia was inspecting Shadow's reaction to Eric's action and whether he will be serious with him or not, but suddenly her entire face became gloomy.

She turned to the three girls beside her and said " he's going to kill him "
