The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 100 - Sugar and Spice

A continuous game of cat and mouse!

A twist to their story when a third player entered the game scattering their dreams. Neither the cat nor the mouse had a winning end. End of the story!

Presuming that Drew would pester her again, Leena wandered in the maple groves leisurely talking with Reese and Jane all the trio together in a conference call.

Eventually, when Leena sensed the twilight zone was being returned, her fear of ghosts kicked in, and within no time, she bid goodbye to her friends and fled into the house.

Just when Leena reached for the doorknob to open the room, she heard an amicable voice across the corridor.

"Where were you, Jurassic? In an excited voice, Drew curtailed her footsteps. "I was searching for a long time to show my ugly friend's face. "

"Me? I was talking with my best friends."  Leena's reply was fast and she knew that the ugly friend is none other than Jasper.

"Good that you have a best friend unlike me," Drew mumbled in a low voice but still, she heard his words.

Despite Drew started, as a matter of fact, Leena assumed Drew is entering into a depression because Jasper has not come clean with his feelings.

What a tragic love story they are entangled in!

Leena sighed, freeing the door wide open, aware that Drew would join to pester her again until he gets to know about the treasure hunt pair.

"Leah told that you have already picked the treasure hunt chit. What did you get?" Drew asked, he has been so eager to know if both of them had become a pair. If luck is by his side and the note he has exchanged would kick in the result he anticipated, they can enjoy the whole day basking the game.

"Andrew Dawson! Are you a monkey or a donkey? Anyone trying to peep into other notes is worse than them." Having said that, she settled on the bed and nudged him to sit on the chair.

"I am just curious." His face brooded when he thought of Leah's insult just like Leena did it now. That wicked woman would have complained about me.

"Leave all that! I am a little curious about you. When did you know that you have become a friend of Dorothy?" Leena asked in anticipation. She was curious about the new love birds and wanted to know whey have lost their v.i.r.g.i.n.i.t.y. If so, she wanted to know how they have done the deed. Despite it is a little odd to listen, she did not mind being shameless. After all, in a world full of Kardashians, she is just a Gallagher.

"Huh? Who is Dorothy? I don't have a friend with such a name." A sense of confusion was written all over his face when Drew asked.

"You_ your ga_ nevermind." Surprised that he was not even aware of Dorothy, Leena dismissed the thought. She felt a little embarrassed to talk about it again with Andrew.

After chit-chatting with her for quite some time, Drew left the room to check out a suitable outfit for the treasure hunt game.

....

When Andrew left the room, Leena instantly walked into the linked room. While she was entering her room along with Andrew, her eyes caught sight of a familiar note lying on the table and she discerned it must be Mr.Adonis treasure hunt chit.

Leena quietly checked the walk-in closet and knocked on the bathroom door and when she did not find any response, a wicked smile spread across her face.

Right away, she marched forth to check his note.

"Spice! Spice! Spice!" Leena mumbled until her brain processed the content.

"Yay! Mr. Adonis is spice and I am sugar and we are going to be treasure hunt pairs." Leena jumped in the room squealed with excitement with the revelation. Her happiness knew no bounds thinking that she would get to spend alone time with him.

She has already welcomed the little butterflies she is receiving from her heart whenever her mind wanders on to him, a way she has never felt with anyone until he crashed into her life. Leena doesn't want to know the exact feelings she is garnering on to him, for she was sure it would get revealed with the progress of time. But right at the moment, she wants to enjoy spending more time with him, talk with him, get to know about him, and hear his teasings.

Her intuition was telling that he is already aware of her identity and when Trent talked about him being a dangerous person, she was curious about his identity and when she got to know that Wilbur and Jasper were friends of him, she wished to know his personality. Her curiosity always piques when it matters to him. It was a piece of cake if Leena wanted to know about him. She could get his information from Leah, Austin, or Andrew or through her hacking skills. But for Leena, that is just an ordinary way and she wants everything to be extraordinary. Getting close to him without knowing his sameness was one thing that she had never received the opportunity with anyone and she is enjoying it.

Just that she is waiting for the day he would confront her with his real identity. Until then, let the cat and mouse game continue.

Like an idiot, Leena was grinning for no reason when her brain was getting occupied with him.

Soon she felt something was off when she read the note likewise. How can he become spice?

"Isn't it lame that I am the sugar? He is the sugar patient going for runs even before listening to everything. Besides, I am hotter than him. So, naturally, I am the one eligible to get called as a spice."  Replacing the note with his which she had been carrying all the way, scared of the robbers like Andrew, Leena walked out to thank Leah for pulling her out of this situation. There is a high chance that he would ask about the swapping chits when he comes to know about it on the game commencing day, but Leena has already come up with a story to make him believe.

Leena was proud that by exchanging her note with a single person, she would be lucky enough to get paired with him. Little did she know, it was a groundwork of the two mortal enemies who have worn out their efforts just to get separated, but in the process, bringing Leena and Devin together.
