The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 247 - Happiness lies in annoying my husband

''Have you heard about her?'' Leena asked, raveling her leg on Devin's. Leena has become so habituated to sleeping in this position that she has to put on a pillow underneath her leg when Devin is away from her.

''I heard.'' He said, pulling her leg closer; it gives him a sense of relaxation. Although Devin heard a little about the famous Neurosurgeon, Marja Morvena, the name felt very familiar in his memory, as if he had crossed paths with her before. He is slowly accepting that his memories are in a mess with no treatment. ''So, she was the one who treated your spine?''

''At first, I had another doctor, but later I heard she volunteered to be my Neurosurgeon,'' Leena added. ''You know what, babylicious...That tadpole face was treated as a beauty Diva in the hospital. Not only doctors but even the patients also tried to impress that woman.'' Leena giggled, imagining that bullfrog's personality. All men are blind except my babylicious.

Suddenly, Devin got an idea to play with her for a while to make her jealous again. It would be fun to watch. ''She is not a tadpole darling. I heard she is as pretty as a picture.''

''Oh, Mr.Wang is also interested in her?'' She asked, sneering at him.

''What if I say yes?'' He tested her keenly, observing her mood changes, but to his annoyance, it was as still as water.

''Then why didn't you try?'' As if she was not affected, Leena asked casually.

Devin's mood dampened listening to her words. Why is my plan backfiring? Is she not jealous at all? Leena doesn't like it if someone is praised in front of her. What's happening here?

When Devin didnot utter a word, Leena crushed the laugh that was trying to escape from her lips. He has already seen her getting jealous over a mere kid, but still, he is not satisfied. I will give him a good wrap today.

''Devin..are you there?'' Leena slightly poked his arm.

''Yeah.'' He replied indifferently.

''I thought you went into that woman's imagination when I did not get a response. Anyway, it's not too late. You can still try getting along with her since she is not married. For that, we need to divorce__hmphh...''

Even before the last word came out of her mouth, Devin flipped her on the bed and roughly seized her lips. He pried open his mouth and dominantly entered her mouth despite Leena's protest. He pulled back to let her breathe for a second when she hit his c.h.e.s.t only to pull back, thrusting his sleek tongue into her mouth again. He could taste the fruits from every inch of her mouth she had in the plane. He almost lost his senses when he heard Leena talk about divorce.

''D_evin w_ait....'' Leena pulled back for a breath, and she could only manage to utter two words when he slammed his lips again, roughly biting and nibbling them. He drew back only when Leena struggled for a breath. ''Watch what you speak, Leena.'' His voice had a rough warning in it. Remorse filled him watching her bruised lips, but that disappeared in a flick second when he recalled her words.

''Y_ou started it.'' She said stubbornly, and her mind was still effusive with his senseless kiss.

''And I am ending it.'' He said softly, his thumb c.a.r.e.s.sing the bruised bottom lip. ''In the process of making my sweetheart jealous, I didnot see through her tricks.''

''You know it already how envious I am when it comes to you.'' Leena wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled him until they were an inch apart. ''Don't you dare go behind that woman, Devin.'' It was a clear warning.

''I want to live my life to the fullest with you. So, I wouldn't risk.'' Having said that, he stole a peck on her lips. He wanted to go a little into the action, but not today. She is tired, and his mind is messed up with that pain-killing dream.

''What did you say? If I don't kill you, then are you willing to go behind her?'' She asked again.

''What..no.'' He immediately rejected. She should have been an FBI agent. ''You can blindly trust me, sweetheart. Even if you ask me to go behind any woman, I will straight away reject it. I am one woman man.'' Devin now regretted starting this conversation.

With a pout on her lips, Leena hummed in reply embracing him. She was interrogating like a child because it was Marja Morvena. Leena doesn't want to admit it, but she is really beautiful. Although Marja Morvena is one of her assigned doctors, she hated that woman. One day, she would speak nicely, and another day, she bullies Leena, not even thinking that she was a patient of her. She didnot tell Fracny or anyone since she was good at what she was doing.

''End of this conversation. Let's sleep. We have already wasted one night. I want to make our honeymoon as productive as possible.''

''My exact thoughts,'' She whispered, looking down at something. She pushed the naughty thoughts aside and spoke up. ''If you get a nightmare again, don't hesitate to wake me up.''

''Alright.' He smiled and pulled the blanket upon them. Exhausted, Devin slept the moment he closed his eyes.

...

The next morning Leena woke up to the sounds of birds chirping. The morning sun rays, away from the pollution and their busy life and most importantly, waking up to see Devin's face, was a type of paradise.

''Leena propped her elbow on the pillow to watch him working seriously. The bright golden rays cascading from the see-through curtains enhanced his slightly bronzed skin. Shirt sleeves rolled to the turns, flexed muscles, arm veins protruding every time his rough hands move over the keyboard. What a delicious morning to start with. Babylicious is an adept nickname for this creature.

''Are you done ogling?'' Devin asked, lifting his head. ''I can't concentrate on what I am doing.''

''I want to file a complaint on you.'' Leena's words came out of the topic.

''Why?'' He asked in confusion, but a smile didnot fade away when he thought Leena would come up with something crazy.

''For stealing my heart.''

Devin burst out into a fit of laughter. He threw the laptop aside and walked towards the bed. He pinched her nose playfully and whispered. ''You are flirting with me.''

''When someone is flirting with you, you should cooperate,'' Leena said.

''If I start cooperating now, the bed will rock. Do you want that to happen?''

''Not now.'' She muttered with a blush. She was sure it would rock today.

''Then Go and brush your teeth.''

''Pull me up.'' Leena flared her hands like a kid.

''You are a spoiled brat.'' Instead of pulling, Devin directly carried her to the bathroom and pulled her to stand. ''Take your bath.''

Devin was about to leave arranging the clothes, and his footsteps halted when she called him. ''Devin.''

''What now?''

''I wanted to tell you a secret,'' Leena whispered, looking down at the floor.

''I am listening.'' Devin sighed, waiting for her answer. What else it would be. She hasn't had breakfast until now, and now she wants to eat someone's brain, and he has turned into her scapegoat.

''I always feel someone is getting turned on when I am getting n.a.k.e.d to take my bath.'' She said softly.

''What! Why didn't you tell me before? Who the hell is that?'' Devin's face darkened a shade of vortex. He swore he would kill the person without knowing that he was being played.

''Who the hell is it, Leena!'' His voice raised an octave.

Lifting her hand, Leena pointed it to the shower. ''I have to turn on the shower when I have to take a bath. So, even the shower is getting turned on seeing me n.a.k.e.d, right?'' She blinked her eyes with innocence.

Hearing her logic, Devin clenched his fist. He wanted to speak something, but not a word came out. In the end, he strolled out of the room, shutting the door loudly.

''Happiness is annoying my husband.'' Leena jumped and danced like a kid that got candy. Getting fresh, as she walked out of the room, a certain someone was glaring daggers at her, but leena didnot mind him. While she was applying her skincare routine, a voice spoke up.

''Isn't the dress too short?" Devin asked, scanning from behind.

''I purposefully picked short ones for honeymoon.'' She said and resumed back. ''Do you have a problem?''

''It's better not to argue with her.'' He grumbled. After Leena got ready and had a country-style breakfast, Devin brought her to a place where outdoor games were played since she likes those children's games a lot. Devin captured pictures of her, watching Leena play in the water with kids she made friends with. By the time they were back to the house, and it was noon.

The moment Leena had lunch, she hit the bed, and it was in the evening when she got up. To her surprise, Devin was not anywhere in the room.

''Where did he go?" Leena was about to pick her phone to call him; her eyes unconsciously fell on a note. She skeptically opened the note and read the content.
