The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#2088 - Creation of all thoughts
This wasn't the first time Kamesinoi had ventured into the real world. As one of the greatest Tzeentchian daemons within the Crystal Labyrinth, its attention to the mortal realm had never ceased.
Its followers often called it the Weaver of All Thoughts, the Lord of Illusions, or the Crown of Schisms, but these were just a few of its countless titles. As one of the daemon lords of the Ninefold Council of the Crystal Realm, its true name was known only to itself and the highest, most esteemed Chaos God, Tzeentch.
As a daemon lord, it was a master of illusion and deception, as well as the leader of the cunning legions of daemons of Tzeentch. Therefore, it possessed a majesty and cunning that ordinary Lords of Change could hardly surpass. In its movements, it could blur reality, time, and space. Few beings knew that it could exist in two times, two spaces, and two locations simultaneously. This was the root of its power and the source of its existence—

When without a clear objective, it would crane its neck on its tower, gazing left and right, constantly exploring within countless layers of the immaterial space. Those cunning, intelligent eyes scrutinized glory after glory, exposing merciless conflicts, conspiracies, and counter-conspiracies. Under the probing gaze of the Lord of Illusions, all beings stood naked.
Its substance was thought, emotion, intention, and disembodied consciousness.
In the material and immaterial realms, immaterial and material consciousness harbored a terrible longing for each other. Every material existence craved the unbridled freedom and ecstasy of the spirit, and every spiritual existence craved material existence to fully manifest itself. However, a certain cosmic law kept the two apart.
However, just like the existence of Tzeentch, there were no absolutes. It was still possible for them to merge.
It was just that there were some things in the material world that were enough to interfere with the Chaos Gods, but fortunately, not many.
To be able to descend better, they often needed an ally, an ally who would be betrayed once they lost their usefulness, a willing sacrifice who would sign a contract with them.
But all material and immaterial beings knew the fickle nature of the Lords of Change. Constructing such traps often required more scheming. Kamesinoi, within its own woven web of intricate conspiracies, had chosen that being who had ascended from a Dark Angel to a daemon, Marbas.
It had offered many secrets to the Dark Gods, and this was undoubtedly the most appreciated offering by the Lord of Conspiracies, the Changer of Ways. Although it did not explicitly worship anyone, there was no doubt that its inner self had been scrutinized by the great Tzeentch.
Kamesinoi reached a cooperation with the other party. It would descend, scheme, assist, and ultimately betray.
Marbas was destined to receive a betrayal that would please it. As for what form it would take, only it knew. But before that, it had to descend.
The servant of Tzeentch, the Great Schemer, opened its cruel, twisted mouth and once again emitted a low laugh.
It left its tower, passed through the endless maze, and plunged toward a black, uneven wall or floor.
That was the material realm, which from the outside looked like a huge, amorphous mass, a realm with only three or four dimensions, while the Warp had many different dimensions. A soul powerful enough could sometimes enter this strange, narrow realm, but usually with no good outcome.
Kamesinoi flew down and arrived at a place that glowed slightly in the darkness.
Standing near the entrance, reality was rejecting Kamesinoi's entry, as if trying to pass through a gate that required a key card to open.
Then, it heard it. The wails of those mortal creatures dying filled the surroundings. The souls of mortals could produce a slight breeze that rippled when under extreme emotion. If it was just one, then it was insignificant, but if it was thousands upon thousands—
That was a storm.
Countless faces emerged from the spot of light, each with strange shapes, bared teeth, some like humans, some like beasts mixed together, varying in size and shape. This was one of the essences of the Warp: emotion shapes everything, and everything feeds back to emotion.
Many creations were drawn over, seduced by this psychic storm they had never tasted. The intoxicating energy pulsed like a beacon in the aether, driving them to rush in and frantically enjoy the released souls.
This place was like a disturbed pool, with countless sounds and thoughts in the collision of colors and tastes.
Then, the wall of resistance collapsed.
Kamesinoi plunged down, passing through layers of veils. With each 'downward' movement, its power weakened by a fraction, but it didn't matter. Itself remained in the aether.
Then it saw its offering, a shining candle flame, something that usually existed in the material world as those fools who attempted to use the power of the aether.
Devouring it, it would possess a body to walk the material world. That was simply easy—
Until.
A violent, ancient power struck, repelling it.
Those green-skinned beasts, mindless, unintelligent, worthless, were the most hated and favorite consumables of all great schemers, because they could always successfully complete 'tasks', but often caused frequent accidents due to the unpredictable uncertainties. It seemed that even the Changer of Ways found it difficult to truly control their bizarre brains and unpredictable actual behaviors.
For most of the lords of the Crystal Labyrinth, they were just a pile of garbage left by the Old Ones and became a stain on the beautiful canvas of the galaxy.
But it didn't matter. It couldn't affect the second time—
A mortal appeared, its soul was very interesting, but protected by something, bizarre, strange.
But now was not the time to pay attention to it, just a little fire was needed.
“Acrobat of the Highest Heavens, return to your tower.”
Perhaps today some of its little thoughts had angered the Changer of Ways. Kamesinoi felt that everything was getting out of control, and something even stranger and shouldn't have appeared had appeared.
An ancient one disguised as a mortal, it even knew who the other party was, what its name was. Those were things even older than their existence, cold and soulless, eking out a living in metal shells, but undoubtedly difficult to deal with.
And this one in front of it was the most difficult to deal with.
“Why are you here?”
To be able to make a Lord of Change question, the other party seemed to laugh because of it, with a metallic laugh.
“No reason, bored.”
“No, plan, you must be planning something, I will know, discover.”
Then the other party threw out something like a knife. It should have been easy to dodge, but that thing moved in three spaces at the same time. It couldn't, now its power was not enough—
It was banished. Kamesinoi suspected that it was already deeply trapped in the web of conspiracy of some Crystal Lord who was jealous of itself, or it had stepped into a trap that some conspiracy weaver had designed for a long time, or it might be a profound momentary thought of the Changer of Ways?
“I will find out——”
With strong vigilance, it returned to its tower, weaving, observing. There must be a conspiracy, a plan, a possibility in this.
It began to calculate, speculate, countless thoughts flashing in the core of its soul, and these times were almost eternal and yet only fleeting—
