The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#2142 - Wolf King
When a group of Eldar suddenly appeared from the corridor, the Wulfen began to roar. It threw away the corpse in its hand, arched its back, lowered its stance, bared its fangs, and hissed in its throat.
Then it straightened up, stood on its hind legs, and howled at the sky.
Awoo——————
Then it raised its claws and charged madly towards the enemy.
Shuriken rifles opened fire, bullets grazed its limbs, and the remaining armor pieces exploded, but it continued to sprint, its angry and savage roars echoing in the air. Even as blood holes burst open on its body, its pace did not diminish.
"Leave it to me!!!!!"
Byna was consumed by immense rage. The piercing shriek of her banshee mask instantly overwhelmed the Wulfen's howl. The Wulfen grimaced and spat out a mouthful of blood, unbelievably raising its claws to strike at the charging Eldar.
The Howling Banshee leaped, dodging the first strike, and stepped onto the side wall with both feet, running sideways like a gecko. The blade in her hand slashed across as the Wulfen swung its second claw.
A cry of pain accompanied the splatter of blood. The Wulfen's arm was almost severed, but it quickly turned to face the enemy landing behind it. However, a pulse pierced its right knee, separating its lower leg from its thigh. The Wulfen lost its balance and tilted to the side. Byna immediately plunged her blade into its chest, then slashed forcefully, creating a massive wound from the Wulfen's left shoulder. Before it hit the ground, it still used its claws to strike at its opponent, directly knocking Byna's weapon away. If she hadn't used a Wraithbone flip to dodge, her arm might have been torn off.
As the Wulfen fell, shuriken and lasers riddled it with holes.
Byna picked up her weapon and then plunged it into the beast's cheek, forcefully severing its lower jaw, ending the howls and leaving its bloodied tongue trembling in the air, while the Wulfen's orange-yellow eyes still stared at her intently.
"Damn beast! I'll make you know pain! You'll regret—"
Just as she was about to flay it alive with her dagger, Ivarhe came over and grabbed her wrist.
"Don't let anger consume your reason, and don't return to the old ways."
Saying that, he aimed the reaper at the Wulfen's head and pulled the trigger. The headless corpse then ceased all movement.
Byna glared at him through her helmet.
"This beast was transformed from those apes, wasn't it!"
"Find out for yourself."
Releasing Byna's wrist, Ivarhe walked to the fallen Eldar. He discovered that the person was also a Storm Guardian, someone he knew.
"Ernst! Ernst!"
Large chunks of flesh and bone had been torn from the other's chest, exposing mangled internal organs to the air, but he had not died immediately. Ivarhe lifted the other's head off the ground and, after removing his helmet, discovered that the Storm Guardian's face was a terrifying gray, with blood oozing from his nostrils.
Suddenly, the Storm Guardian raised his hand and tightly grabbed Ivarhe's arm, his opening and closing lips gurgling blood as he muttered:
"Go hurry"
"How many Wulfen attacked you?"
"Not cough cough Prim Primarch of the apes"
The word Primarch exploded in Ivarhe's mind like thunder, and the other, clinging to his last breath, growled out the final sentence.→
"Go go protect the Queen!"
After saying that, his hand fell limply. Ivarhe froze for a moment, then reached out and took the soul stone hidden on the other's lower back—this was a habit of all Aeldari from Commorragh. According to their view, such an important thing as a soul stone was too easily destroyed if placed on the chest, so it was safer to put it on the lower back.
"What's the situation?"
As he put down the corpse and stood up, the others in the warhost also gathered around.
Ivarhe put away the soul stone and then said in a low voice:
"The Space Wolves' Primarch, Leman Russ, has arrived! The Queen is in danger!"
"Your Majesty, it's Leman Russ, and he has come with ill intentions. He and the large group of Wulfen he brought have already killed hundreds of warriors."
In a distant corridor, Verania frowned deeply as she listened to Dolarn's report while standing in a gunboat modified into a palanquin. Hundreds of handmaidens and guards surrounded the palanquin, with Morganna and Jain Zar closely following her, constantly guarding against any possible attacks.
"What does Leman Russ want?"
Hearing Verania's words, Dolarn pondered for a moment, then said in a low voice:
"He's probably coming for Your Majesty. After all, if the target was Valedor, he could have attacked long ago."
Hearing that the target was herself, Verania sighed softly.
"Does that mean my reputation is enough to draw out a Primarch who has been missing for ten thousand years? So he's coming for me, is he trying to kill me?"
"Your Majesty, should we notify the Prince?"
"He's still commanding the battle, so don't disturb him for now. Just follow your previous plan. I'll leave Valedor first. Anyway, the Red Corsairs have already run away. I believe Leman Russ isn't coming for Valedor either. If he's coming for me, he'll naturally leave when I leave."
"Your Majesty, according to the information sent back by the various warhosts, Leman Russ only brought a hundred or two Wulfen. Even if he is a Primarch, we have two Phoenix Lords here, we are fully capable of—"
Dolarn made a cutting gesture.
Morganna also turned her head at this time and said in a deep voice:
"Leman Russ is so arrogant and has killed so many of our comrades. We can't just let it go, otherwise the court will lose all its prestige!"
Jain Zar also echoed:
"Leman Russ came last time during the Commorragh civil war. Verania, this isn't the first time he's tried to kill you. We can't ignore this threat."
Verania pursed her lips, then said:
"I said, just repel him. If those Wulfen continue to run rampant, then kill them without mercy."
"Your Majesty, you don't want the Prince to be in a difficult position?"
Dolarn immediately guessed Verania's thoughts. The other party nodded slightly.
"Yes, if Leman Russ dies at our hands, Sosh'yans position will become more difficult. After all, no matter what, that's a Primarch of the Human Imperium, one of the Emperor of Mankind's children."
"Verania, he's coming to kill you! Why are you still considering so much?"
Jain Zar interrupted her indignantly, without any regard for the fact that the other party was already the Queen.
"They started the war, so they should bear the price of death! Sosh'yan's obligation is to protect you, not for you to protect him!"
Dolarn raised her hand, signaling Jain Zar not to speak any further, and then said to Verania:
"Your Majesty, then please move to a safe place first. Leave this to me. Valedor's self-defense system has been activated, and I am confident that I can repel Leman Russ."
Verania nodded.
"Then I'll leave it to you."
Then she suddenly thought of something and muttered to herself in a low voice.
"So that's what the Spear-Wolf meant?"
At this time, the gunboat also passed through the huge doorway and entered the giant hall where the Webway gate was located, but everything inside made Verania gasp in surprise.
In the hall, the ground was covered with severed limbs, armor fragments, and blood-stained the ground. You could also see huge Wulfen lying on the broken Eldar corpses, tearing and chewing. There were scattered numbers of them, about a hundred or so.
And on the huge steps in front of the Webway arch, two huge Eldar Titans lay collapsed on the ground. One had been cut in half at the waist by some terrifying force, and the other was relatively intact, but a towering figure stood astride the Titan's head, the giant sword in its hand already deeply embedded in the cockpit——
