The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#2481 - Blast
As the final guardian of the White Deer Glade, the Frost Heart, who had lived for over ten thousand years, had just awakened to see its protected land so devastated, it immediately transformed into a roaring, living engine of war.
Then, it directly began to rampage through the Slaanesh horde, mortals were mashed into meat paste, and demons were trampled into pus.
But facing this sudden situation, Klau'd'Kell was not alarmed, only responding with dark laughter, and the chariot charged forward, instantly felling more than a dozen Glade Wardens under the whirling blades and tentacles. As the chariot ran over enemies, he would also lash them with the cruel whip in his hand, crippling them before skewering them with his terrifying spear and throwing them into the large mouth in his abdomen.
The Frost Heart tried to stop him, but a violent explosion enveloped the war beast, scorching large patches of black marks on its white, diamond-like scales.
An entire squadron of Leman Russ tanks rumbled in, the drivers inside already having their minds corrupted, they chanted praises to the Dark Prince while aiming their cannons at the huge alien beast.
The Frost Heart's prism turrets immediately turned, and with a beam of intense light, disintegrated a Leman Russ.
Just as the Leman Russ tanks were holding down the Frost Heart, the Dragon Knights found their opportunity, charging out from the rear and crashing into the flank of the Slaanesh army. The Carnosaur mounts and the riders' lances quickly tore through the demons' lines, the knights fighting with primal savagery, enemies even being directly impaled on their fiery lances.
"Don't let him get close to the White Deer King!"
Valentino Ravich led the charge straight towards Klau'd'Kell, then swung his psychic crystal sword, striking down a Slaanesh Banshee trying to extend its pincer claws towards him, cleaving it in two.
But Klau'd'Kell ignored him completely, he laughed maniacally as he slaughtered, his eyes now only on the White Deer.
He steered the living chariot into the center of the Aeldari's defense line like a wedge, the White Deer Wardens continuously shooting swords at him, but they were all blocked by the surrounding dark energy. Cordelia was anxious and ran over, constantly shooting arrows at him, but to no avail.
At this moment, a Dragon Knight suddenly charged towards the side of the speeding chariot, then leapt into the air, trying to jump directly onto the chariot, but the Slaanesh follower simply reached out, and the spear embedded itself in the opponent's chest, taking a large chunk of internal organs with it when he pulled it back.
Valentino Ravich also approached the chariot from behind, he stood up on the saddle, and then, as the mount accelerated one last time, jumped directly onto the chariot, sweeping aside a Slaanesh Banshee with his sword before slashing at the great enemy.
Klau'd'Kell turned around, and King Linnae's sword cut a long gash along his left shoulder to his abdomen. Pus rolled as he experienced pain for the first time. In a furious roar, he retaliated with a fierce blow that struck Valentino Ravich's shoulder, forcing the King Linnae to almost kneel.
"Your souls will witness my ascension!"
Klau'd'Kell then tilted his head back, and the large mouth in his abdomen opened to an unbelievable extent, followed by a sky-piercing scream that spread out in the form of visible sound waves, directly shattering Valentino Ravich's armor, blowing him away, with blood spraying from his ears, nose, and mouth.
When he turned around, only the Aeldari princess Cordelia stood between him and the White Deer. Klau'd'Kell then excitedly flicked his tongue.
"Delicious, delicious! You must be a delicious treat!"
The chariot rumbled onward, Cordelia constantly shooting arrows, not dodging or evading, but those energy bolts couldn't even touch him.
The gaze from Slaanesh had greatly weakened the White Deer King, and naturally, also the power it granted.
Seeing the opponent approaching, Cordelia slung her longbow over her back, calmly picked up her sword, ready to sacrifice her life, while Klau'd'Kell excitedly cracked his whip.
At that critical moment, a sudden sonic boom from the sky startled everyone.
Immediately after was a flash of intense light, forcing everyone to turn their heads. Klau'd'Kell also screamed in pain. In the howling wind, a burning longsword descended like a phoenix spreading its wings.
BOOM—
The violent impact erupted with a loud bang, and a blazing ring of fire spread out in all directions, directly overturning Cordelia into the pool behind her.
"What the-"
When Cordelia struggled to crawl out of the water and onto the shore, she was stunned by the scene before her.
A giant clad in phoenix gold armor was pressing a burning longsword into the Slaanesh follower's neck. The original chariot had shattered into charred, burning debris around them. The giant effortlessly held the sword with one hand, slowly increasing the pressure, breaking through bone and sinew, and piercing out from Klau'd'Kell's abdominal mouth. The tip of the sword was still searing, and in Klau'd'Kell's bisected head, his purple eyes still stared at the amber of the White Deer, flickering with mad light.
"So many lives lost because of trash like you, it's a death well-deserved."
The giant then let out a low chuckle, the weight of his right hand pressing down through the blade, reaching the ground, until Klau'd'Kell's body bent backward, almost causing his eyes to burst from their sockets.
Then his madness turned to fear, as if some terrible thing had appeared before him, and he realized that another, darker fate awaited him.
"Slaanesh? Well, you won't be going there. Go stay in the Void's mouth."
When the giant pulled out the sword, Klau'd'Kell had already turned to dust, and soulstones fell into the ashes. The demons, one after another, screamed and collapsed, disappearing.
Immediately afterward, spear-like starlight streaked down from the shattered canopy of branches. A large number of hovering tanks, gunboats, and motorcycles flew in from all directions. Sozhian then made a lazy gesture, and the Aeldari launched an attack.
Cordelia was stunned, unable to figure out which Craftworld this army came from, because the other side's banner was very unfamiliar, embroidered with a phoenix with burning wings.
The remaining humans, their minds completely deranged, were mercilessly cut down by Howling Banshees and Striking Scorpions. Beams of light as hot as the sun filled the root halls under the World Tree. No one could survive, no one could escape.
At this moment, Cordelia saw the giant wearing the phoenix helmet turn around. His face was covered, but his size was unbelievably exaggerated, impossible for an Aeldari. He seemed to curiously look up at the World Tree, eventually fixing his gaze on the amber in the middle of the White Deer Pool, and started to walk from the stone platform in the pool.
"Wait—"
Cordelia immediately climbed ashore, quickly running towards him, and gripped her sword.
But before she could block him from the White Deer King, two spears were pointed in front of her. A Storm Guardian scolded:
"Stand down, or you will be charged with attempted assassination of His Highness!"
At this moment, Cordelia was about to say something when she heard a voice echoing in her mind. Sozhian also stopped and waved his hand.
"It's alright, let her come."
But Cordelia didn't move, instead turning towards the White Deer Pool.
The White Deer King, who had been lying prone, had already stood up, with a mysterious and noble aura, moving its four slender hooves with unparalleled grace almost like a humanoid creature, walking out from the unfolding amber energy. At this moment, stone slabs and ancient statues engraved with inscriptions slowly rose from the White Deer Pool, forming a huge circular structure, with shimmering soulstones visible on it.
