The Emperor’s Angel of Death

#2552 - Small guy with big appetite

Upon hearing Erda suggest that they should love Xyzyx like she loved Lorgar, Veronica slammed her hand on the table and rebuked, her eyebrows raised in anger:

"Don't even think about it, that crazy woman! I am Sotha's wife, and I don't care about any damn primarch. My children are Aleksey's children, and they have absolutely nothing to do with that family! The Enslavers have helped us many times, so I won't say anything, but that crazy woman should stay as far away as possible and stay in the warp. If I run into her in the real world, I'll hang her from a tree!"

"Veronica, there's no need to be so angry. She is no longer a being of the mortal world, and mortal ethics and morals mean nothing to her."

Compared to Veronica's anger, Viletts, who had previously been 'controlled' by Erda, was much calmer.

She was wearing a sky-blue, hollowed-out, emerald-smoke long dress made of very light material. In the soft light, her snow-white skin was faintly visible. Her feet were in a pair of white high heels, her mature and delicate body was full and tall, graceful and charming, coupled with her holy face and tender eyes, and the hair tied behind her head, all showed a maternal noblewoman's temperament. Her rosy lips were red without rouge, her delicate eyebrows were green without paint, and a necklace inlaid with a yin-yang fish jade pendant hung on her jade neck. This was a gift from Veronica, and it was also a tool to help her master the power of her bloodline. A ribbon was tied around her slender waist, and a perfect circle and graceful arc were squeezed out of the back of the skirt below her waist. The long skirt swayed, revealing two slender and round jade legs that could be broken by a puff of air, which had both the unique charm of a mature woman and the beauty full of power.

These days, she had been learning to control her own power with Veronica's help. It was a warp power different from psychic power. Combined with what Sotha was now saying about Viletts having the bloodline of an immortal, this power was likely related to the mysterious immortals.

Sotha strongly agreed with Viletts' words.

"Anna is right. It's pointless to dwell on her words. She's no longer human. It's not even an exaggeration to call her some kind of demon, or rather, the ghost formed after someone named Erda died. I'm saying this only to hope that you can be wary of her in the future, especially Anna, since she once helped you."

Viletts' thin lips curled into a smile.

"She has already said that, and I am not the kind of fool who just puts up with things. Besides, I once swore allegiance to the Emperor, not to her. The Emperor is on your side, and I firmly believe that."

"Well, in short, my plan remains unchanged. I'll proceed on two fronts. The White Templars line will be temporarily suspended. The Imperium will continue to prepare for war to deal with the various threats that may come, while waiting for the Hope to be summoned by the Thousand Sons. It's the same with the Eldar, but the goal is clearer: gather strength to rescue Isha. I must know what Asuryan is going to do so that I can make subsequent judgments and decisions. I want to find a win-win solution that can both liberate Xyzyx and allow myself to be preserved, and also eliminate the threat from the Ruinous Powers. That way, I can return the Legion to the Primarch, and then I won't owe anyone anything. I really don't want to participate in this game that spans millennia anymore, even if it means losing the power of the Grey Seer."

After speaking, Sotha opened his arms and leaned back on the gorgeous coral-shaped sofa, then a wry smile appeared on his face.

"Am I being too greedy? I still want to get out unscathed at this point."

Viletts walked over and sat next to him, putting her hands on his arm and said softly:

"I will support you no matter what you decide."

Veronica then sat down on the other side, looking at him and saying:

"We have to let those bastards know that we are not to be trifled with, let alone manipulated."

Sotha sighed softly upon hearing this.

"Yes, I really can't do without power now. In this galaxy, without power, you can only be slaughtered and manipulated."

In fact, he was just confiding in them. Some things had been stuck in his heart, and Sotha himself was uncomfortable. He felt much better after saying them, at least he knew that he still had a haven in this indifferent galaxy where he could rest.

Some might see this as weakness, even Sotha himself in the past, but as he came into contact with more and more things, he realized that forced strength could sometimes turn into a morbid stubbornness.

However, the time for rest was always short. Sotha had to meet a group of people he had been putting off.

A group of short people.

The representatives of the Greater Thurian League had been in the royal court for a long time, but Sotha had not yet formally spoken with them. The other party was not just there to provide military services, they obviously had more ideas.

The meeting was held in a side hall of the Phoenix Palace. As usual, Sotha wore his armor and mask, with Dorale by his side, but also with Avalimiti, the Minister of Economy from the Fallen Light, and several Eldar diplomats.

Sitting on the throne, Sotha accepted the congratulations from the delegation of the Greater Thurian League according to etiquette, as well as the gifts they had prepared for the Eternal Queen. Then they handed Sotha the League's "Letter of Credence" - the Hearthkin themselves did not have a unified national government. Each League itself was an independent small state, with independent administrative systems and military and diplomatic departments. Before this meeting, Sotha had agreed to the Greater Thurian League's request to establish a commercial liaison office, which, although only in orbit, was still considered an embassy.

After a round of courtesy, the two sides entered the formal stage. The Greater Thurian League submitted a cooperation proposal to Sotha. Sotha opened it and took a look -

Heh, these dwarves may be small, but their appetite is not small.

The Greater Thurian League hoped to establish a comprehensive and exclusive trade cooperation relationship with the Eternal Court, and at the same time open up fixed trade routes, and then listed a large number of items.

The most core of which was that the Eternal Court could no longer sign trade agreements with other Hearthkin Leagues, and the Greater Thurian League was willing to pay a large amount of cooperation subsidies for this. The type of payment could be chosen by the Court itself, which could be military services, equipment, raw materials, and so on.

In short, they wanted to monopolize the Eternal Court's trade share in the Hearthkin League.

It should be known that as the largest political entity of the Eldar, the goods that the Eternal Court can produce are very amazing. When they have no worries about food and clothing, the Eldar spend most of their time either practicing their paths or engaging in obligatory labor, especially those who practice the arts and carving. They will create many handicrafts or ornaments that are of little value to them but are very expensive to take out. If they don't want to keep them themselves, they will hand them over to the official, for which the court has specially established a collection office to accept such "donations".
