The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#2674 - Besieged on all sides
"Damn it! Eradicate them!"
Seeing an old soldier fall, Sourena was furious. The ensuing plasma fire violently impacted the Necron Scarab's armored shell, but it seemed to withstand even more damage before falling.
At this moment, a sharp-eyed Techmarine noticed a furnace emitting a black glow exposed on the abdomen of the bizarre machine, with several scarabs crawling out and beginning to repair the damaged parts of the machine.
"Take out the scarabs on it first!"
At this moment, the bizarre machine focused its gaze on Sourena, its green glowing eyepiece flashing with the Space Marine's bloodlust. It then ruthlessly threw down the Terminator's corpse, rushing towards Sourena engulfed in flames.
With two booms, the roar of two multi-meltas firing carved several huge openings in the Necron Scarab, but failed to kill it.
Before they could continue firing, swarms of scarabs surrounded them, entangling their arms and feet.
Sourena was also unafraid, launching a duel against the whistling but slowing bizarre machine.
The moment the enemy's giant pincers swung, he ducked down, sprinting towards the alien machine at full speed. The machine raised its claws trying to grab him, but he easily dodged.
Somehow, in the instant of making eye contact with it, Sourena saw unspeakable malice in the alien machine's lens, in that gnashing jaw.
The next second, he slammed hard into its solid body, kicking its lower abdomen with all his might, and then hacking at its side with his power sword.
The blade almost got stuck in its carapace. Sourena immediately dropped his pistol, grabbed it with his other arm, and pulled it down.
At the same time, the Techmarine also cleaved the alien machine's tail with his cog axe, while the auxiliary arm on his back fired several plasma blasts at close range, blowing away the repairing scarabs on it.
Under the heavy blow, the Necron Scarab fell to the ground, but still struggled, two metal limbs lunging towards Sourena. One leg struck his shoulder hard, shattering a large piece of ceramite, while the other was severed by Sourena. He then pinned his legs to the ground on either side of its body, fixing it to the floor, and then frantically hacked at the machine.
The machine tried to attack Sourena with its razor-sharp mandibles, but the reaction speed of the Power Armor-clad Space Marine Captain made the alien machine's attacks miss time and time again.
As he grabbed its mandibles with his other hand and pulled hard, staring into its eyes for a moment, he saw the arrogance of this soulless machine, which had no trace of human technology. It was the filth of alien, abominable technology defiling human territory.
In his rage against the alien, Sourena used all his strength to tear the machine's head off.
The metal spider trembled, its legs kicking upwards as insects do when they die, and then it was motionless.
Having dealt with this enemy, Sourena had no time to rest, pointing his sword directly at the building ahead.
"Blow this place up, it probably has an underground passage!"
With that, he turned and ran towards the ramparts, quickly climbing to the top of the wall, where the warriors were shooting downwards with various weapons.
The aerial flight squadron also encountered trouble. Swarms of adult-sized mechanical insects were attacking them. These creatures resembled giant dragonflies, with six sharp, slender legs and four short rods with rounded heads on their backs, as if four invisible wings were flapping. Their insect-like heads had a small cannon that could fire continuous, short-range cutting beams. The ends of their long, segmented tails were phase blades.
In groups of three or five, they flew at extremely high speeds towards the Stormtalons and Land Speeders in the sky, forcing these vehicles to turn their fire towards the immediate threat, while moving at high speed and using their airborne cannons to destroy them.

Without the support of aerial firepower, the ground battle rapidly deteriorated, and the enemy soon pounced under the ramparts.
Looking around, in addition to the scarabs, the most numerous were the curved, hunchbacked humanoid monsters. They had long, thin limbs with razor-like claws at the ends, and a ruby-like light flickered in their sunken, hollow eye sockets.
And the "fragments" draped over them were flesh, tendons, and human skin.
"Damn alien scum, I know where those missing Adeptus Mechanicus personnel went..."
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw a skin-machine, after bending its knees, leap to the top of the five-meter-high wall, only less than ten meters away from him.
Sourena raised his gun and fired, hitting the alien in the chest. Under the explosive force of the plasma, the opponent's metal ribs caved in and blew off one of its arms. Immediately afterwards, the second shot shattered part of its skull, blasting the fleshy remnants of human internal organs wrapped around its neck into pieces.
"Purge the aliens!"
Sourena roared, began firing down the wall, and searched for the source of the enemy.
Soon he noticed that hundreds of meters away, there were several huge metal spiders, one of their claws replaced by a bizarre weapon, constantly firing green lightning weapons, hitting the ramparts and dormant turrets. Nearby warriors were even blown up by the explosions, and debris rained down on them.
The squad using heavy bolters and plasma guns took the lead in using dense firepower to try to interrupt it, but the metal spider stood firm in the fierce firepower.
One of the shots hit a warrior, and his armor was directly blasted with a big hole, with green mucus dripping from the edges, and then he fell off the city wall.
And when these spiders fired, they were also constantly birthing new scarabs from the furnace inside. Behind them, huge burrows could be vaguely seen, like crawling out of a torn insect nest, with clawed monsters crawling out in droves.
Sourena knew that the last way was to blow up those burrows, but now they were trapped in the stronghold, and attacking was not a good option.
Fortunately, they had enough heavy weapons. Even without air support, a large number of plasma guns, meltaguns, heavy bolters, and plasma grenades were enough to deal with most approaching enemies. The Terminators were guarding the entrance of the stronghold, where the gate had long been torn apart by the scarabs.
Of course, some stragglers still rushed up the ramparts, running and jumping with hatred for the living. The tattered shrouds woven from human internal organs flickered in the gunfire, just like their half-meter-long claws and empty eye sockets that flickered with emerald light.
"Haven't the Adeptus Mechanicus people arrived yet?"
Sourena asked the Techmarine on the communicator, while volley-firing at an alien preparing to make a treaty, quickly blasting its limbs off its body—if it weren't for the new plasma weapons provided by the chapter, they wouldn't be able to maintain such firepower at all. So far, he had killed 11 aliens.
