The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#2683 - Anti-gravity motorcycle
This White Templars squad consisted of 8 motorcycles and 1 Javelin attack speeder. The Javelin attack speeder was already considered 'old' equipment for the White Templars, and what they really wanted to test were the motorcycles they straddled.
The 8 motorcycles looked like miniature Imperial warships, but with a sharper head, engraved with the chapter's insignia. Each side had a twin-linked bolter, and below was a plasma cannon. The rear of the vehicle had two downward-sloping tail fins, and a banner fluttered in the wind. Their wheels were replaced by exhaust nozzles at the rear—yes, they were all anti-gravity motorcycles.
This motorcycle was temporarily named the 'Hunter' anti-gravity motorcycle. It seemed to be a revival of the Empire's lost anti-gravity motorcycles, but in reality, it was completely different. This was because the motorcycle's anti-gravity platform actually came from the Eldar, and wasn't even 'copied' by Ulan Huda, but directly produced from the Yme-Loc Craftworld's forge. In other words, this motorcycle was actually a combination of human and Eldar technology. Except for the anti-gravity platform, the rest of the equipment and components were entirely human technology. Sorsh Jan had proposed this idea some time ago, and Ulan Huda only came up with a basic plan shortly after his Great Vortex expedition.
Of course, the official story was that Ulan Huda had found an STC about anti-gravity motorcycles. Anyway, with the example of the Javelin attack speeder, it was relatively easy to explain. Moreover, the chassis was an inconspicuous part, and unless a professional carefully disassembled and inspected it, it would be difficult to detect the abnormality.
The only problem was the compatibility of equipment from two different sources. Therefore, it took more than two years of tinkering before the first batch of prototypes was produced before this war.
But looking at the motorcycle's parameters, from Sorsh Jan's point of view, it was a complete degradation compared to the Eldar anti-gravity motorcycle. The speed and handling had declined to a considerable extent. Wraithbone was still better, but anti-gravity was still noble, and even if it was worse, it was better than wheels.
And all the warriors who had used it gave it extraordinarily high praise.
It was also thanks to the anti-gravity motorcycle's powerful mobility that the Sixth Company squad was able to hunt down so many aliens in such a large area in such a short period of time. You should know that the Adeptus Mechanicus's tens of thousands of Death Riders might not have this record in a week.
"Annihilate them! Kill the aliens!"
Federico shouted, raising his sword. He felt that his current pose must be very similar to the famous Samuel—he had seen this Ravenwing Master during the Great Vortex expedition, and was very envious of his gorgeous anti-gravity motorcycle at the time.
He didn't expect that he would be driving one so soon.
Faced with the rapidly approaching threat, the Jackal squad had no time to escape. An all-terrain vehicle turned its front to intercept, its entire front end occupied by a spiked metal roller, decorated with jagged patterns.
Federico then aimed the twin-linked bolter mounted on the front fairing at the front of the all-terrain vehicle, sparks flying from the haphazardly assembled armor plates, but its wheel engine continued to run, unaffected.
At this time, another all-terrain vehicle started up, trying to flank the Space Marines' formation.
However, the Javelin attack speeder had already set its sights on it. Accompanied by the roar of rockets, four Hunter missiles flew towards the all-terrain vehicle, blasting it into a huge fireball the moment it frantically reversed.
Seeing this scene, a figure emerged from the all-terrain vehicle's dome hatch. This Genestealer was bare-chested, his muscles knotted under the bandages entangled all over his body, tightly gripping the control lever of the heavy lumber gun fastened to the bracket, and twisting it towards Federico.
Roaring something, it opened fire.
But the Space Marines weaved left and right, crisscrossing. The speed and maneuverability of the anti-gravity motorcycle allowed him to move like a fish in water—Federico's driving skills were hard-earned. His genes didn't help him much in this regard. This talent came from decades of practice and endless repetition, and was further enhanced by the pure thinking ability of his modified and enhanced brain, as well as the shortening of his reaction time through bionic surgery.
So that heavy lumber gun could only bite at the anti-gravity motorcycle's exhaust fumes, enraging the operator, who pounded the top of the vehicle's armor with his fist, roaring in a turbid voice.
"Exterminate the aliens!"
Federico let out a hearty roar, and the proud star steed under his crotch responded with an enthusiastic roar and further increased thrust. The Space Marine turned in his saddle, brandishing his sword as he passed over the enemy's head.
In the throes of death, the headless corpse gripped the firing trigger tightly until the barrel overheated and exploded, the dome flying off the top of the truck, bullets crackling like firecrackers. The driver struggled to control the vehicle, but it was too late when plasma from Federico's motorcycle shot towards it.
The ultra-high energy burst destroyed the interior of the all-terrain vehicle, and all the occupants inside were instantly roasted. In comparison, its final destruction seemed particularly unremarkable.
The squad roared past, leaving the steel wreckage behind.
"Retreat! Retreat now!"
The Jackal squad was completely unprepared for this sudden attack, and they immediately wanted to flee in all directions, but the roaring anti-gravity motorcycles even directly cut some of them to pieces—some warriors had privately installed blades under the front of their vehicles, trying to give the enemy the fear of aerial decapitation.
Federico didn't even bother to draw his sword. He reached out an arm while riding, grabbed an alien by the neck, threw him into the air, and then rushed up and punched him in two.
"Yaya, split up!"
Hunterhead urged his sister. Yaya nodded, the scene of the slaughter terrified her, so she stepped on the gas.
But as soon as she sped out, she realized that her sister had not followed her, so she turned back.
The other party stopped, raised her sniper rifle, and tried to aim at those opponents scurrying around in the sky.
Then, she fired a shot, and then eagerly fired two more shots, obviously missing all of them. Just as she was preparing for the fourth shot, a blade pierced her abdomen, lifting her whole body into the air. Blood spurted from her mouth and nose, and the sniper rifle fell to the ground.
"Brave alien scum, but still alien scum!"
Federico shouted behind his helmet, waving the sword in his hand. The Hunter desperately gripped the blade, as if to prevent it from shredding her internal organs.
Finally, she tore off her dust mask and spat a mouthful of blood at the Space Marine's helmet before her head drooped.
"Damn it!"
Federico raised his hand forcefully, instantly cutting her in two, then wiped the blood from his visor.
