Behind Sothar, an invisible creature shook off its camouflage. Its skin changed to a dirty dark purple and yellow-spotted pattern as its four paws moved, and it made no sound as it moved.

On the way here, Sothar had specifically consulted the Tyranid data collected by the Eldar. The Royal Court was now managed by the Druids, who used the Court's facilities to obtain detailed records of various creatures from various Craftworlds, and integrated them into a data set called "Bestiary", specifically for the Privy Council and new officers to read and study.

The Bondsman Beetle was a Tyranid alien recorded by the Eldar but never appeared in human records (humans would not know about this thing until the Second Tyranid War).
