The Emperor’s Angel of Death

#2868 - The Great Reaper and the Great Devourer

Actually, Torson wasn't really able to directly converse with the Hive Mind. After all, the Tyranid's thoughts were elusive, yet moved as freely as the wind in the air, seemingly omnipresent. Torson physically experienced the feeling of being watched by this unique will. He heard its howls, but they were filled with incomprehensible strangeness. Only one feeling was very clear.

Hatred, it was full of hatred towards him.

Then presumably the "meaning" he wanted to express could also be understood by the other party.

"I know, you remember me, and I remember you. This is our war. You think you are the Great Devourer, but today I have to tell you, there are some things that your little mouth can't swallow!!!"

Just as Torson looked up and laughed, the sky above his head was suddenly lit up.

As if a blazing sun appeared in the sky, it was a ball of purple-blue light, gradually growing from tiny to enormous, as if the sun was falling to the ground.

Seconds later, even the clouds were blown away. A giant plasma projectile, launched from a Tyranid ship second only to the Hive Ship, slowly pressed down towards the mountain where Torson was. The powerful impact caused the mountain to collapse and the earth to boil, but Torson was still laughing.

Boom——————————

In the blink of an eye, the entire mountain was swallowed by the plasma burst. The power of this strike was no less than a full-force strike from the main gun of an Imperial battleship, directly obliterating the entire mountain.

As the shockwave slowly dissipated, the ground within a few kilometers radius was almost a black mirror, but Torson was still floating at his original height, gently rubbing a few ashes remaining in his palm.

In fact, Torson wasn't really bold enough to directly take a ship-cannon level attack. He just went to the Flayed Pyramid to hide for a few seconds.

"Let's have a race, let's see if you absorb faster, or my subordinates kill faster!"

Just then, a command boat sped over from afar, then stopped steadily next to Torson without any inertia.

"My Lord, are you alright?"

Torson glanced sideways at Valgull, and replied coldly:

"A mere xenos dragon, how can it harm me? Bone Lord, the Great Harvest has begun, go and carry out your mission."

With that, Torson slowly raised his hand, and the Blood of Landu'gor, the key to the Flayed Pyramid, appeared in the red mist, rotating in his palm in crystal form.

Instantly, pillars of blood and green light lit up across the planet. Huge bone-carved teleportation gates slowly emerged from the dimensional rifts, and a large number of Flayers dragging Genestealer corpses began to walk into the gates, only to quickly return.

"My Lord, I shall present you with a rich feast!"

After speaking, Valgull raised the double-bladed scepter in his hand, and then a large number of tomb stingwings rose from the ground like a swarm of locusts taking flight. These tomb stingwings were different from normal ones, not only shining with red light, but also having a certain degree of distortion in their heads, turning into a mosquito-like shape with sharp mouthparts, and the claws on their limbs also became longer and more terrifying.

These Bloodscourge Stingwings (named by the protagonist) soared into the air and engaged in a mixed battle with the Tyranid Gargoyle swarms. As the flying cannon fodder in the Tyranid bio-arsenal, Gargoyles were small and structurally fragile, relying on cheap biomass consumption to support their vast numbers. Their attack methods were similar to those of Termagants, mainly avoiding close combat as much as possible. After all, making a skilled gunner abandon his strengths to engage in melee combat with prey would undoubtedly be a waste of power, and their claws could only be used against fragile ordinary people.

But the Bloodscourge Stingwings were precisely the nemesis of the Gargoyles. These constructs, distorted by the Flayer curse, lost the long-range attack methods of ordinary Stingwings, but their close-range combat capabilities were greatly enhanced, and their speed was several times faster than ordinary Stingwings.

The fleshborer hivespines fired by Termagants posed no threat to metal constructs, while the Bloodscourge Stingwings, streaking across the sky at extremely high speeds, were like sharp razors. Wherever they went, carapace and flesh flew, and countless Gargoyle wrecks fell like raindrops. Therefore, when the two torrents collided, it was as if ice met fire, and the seemingly terrifying Tyranid swarm melted away at an extremely fast rate.

This situation immediately provoked a counter-response from the Tyranids. A bioform even larger than the Gargoyles broke through the clouds and joined the low-altitude battle. They resembled wing-borne Warrior Bugs without arms or legs, had long, hooked tails, and their open mouths contained a bio-cannon, flying at extremely high speeds.

When they arrived above the battle cluster, tiny bioforms encircled by lightning burst from under their wings. These bioforms had three tails, bodies covered in carapace, and looked like missiles. When they flew into the Bloodscourge Stingwing swarm, they would suddenly explode, and then a strong bio-electromagnetic field change would erupt, causing the surrounding constructs to short-circuit and spark, falling to the ground.

For a time, the Tyranids seemed to regain some advantage.

However, the constructs of the Flayed Dynasty were extraordinary. What supported their actions was not the programs compiled by the tomb technicians, but like the Flayers, it was a frenzied curse.

The Bloodscourge Stingwings, undamaged after landing, took off again after a brief pause, and launched an attack in an even more frantic manner.

They swarmed towards the large Tyranid bioforms that launched bio-missiles, using their claws to cut open their wings, and using their mouthparts to pierce their heads, dismembering them in mid-air amidst screams.

That wasn't enough. When huge capillaries appeared on the earth, and Tyranid spore chimneys stood tall, beginning to transform the planet to make it more "delicious", a massive number of Necron Scarabs also crawled out of the Flayed Pyramid. Like bloodthirsty army ants, they carried away all the flesh and blood they could find, including those of the killed Tyranid creatures.

This behavior made the rolling thunder in the depths of the sky sound more like a roar. The Tyranid consciousness was completely enraged, and a large number of bio-weapons were deployed to the ground, attempting to destroy those bone teleportation gates.

"Fire!"

A "spaceship" that looked very old and full of patchwork marks was parked on a huge launch pad. This was originally a cargo airport on the planet. Although the garrison here had destroyed all the facilities when they evacuated, they had ignored some scrapped ship wreckage hidden in underground warehouses, and the technicians among the Genestealers had used these wrecks to re-"assemble" a spaceship.

But now it was in trouble and could not take off immediately, but there was little time left for it, because it was already full of monsters wearing "human" skin.

"Fire!"

In the Bishop's roar, Mattening, who was in charge of a heavy machine gun, immediately fired, hitting a monster's chest. Under normal circumstances, this large-caliber bullet would be enough to tear through the human body, but the monster's ribs only dented slightly, and the remnants of human internal organs wrapped around its neck were shattered into pieces.
