The Emperor’s Angel of Death

#2992 - Secret visitor

"Where's Kellis?"

"Her? When the Steel Eyes pirate band finally submitted to the Throne, they had less than three hundred ships left. Adding in some who submitted earlier, the total is about three hundred and fifty ships, with a crew of about six thousand. They still have some strength. Besides, most pirate ships aren't suitable for direct combat, so I plan to temporarily maintain the Steel Eyes structure, rename them the Steel Eyes Cruiser Fleet. They'll continue their past small-scale activities, but their main mission is to patrol the Savage Kingdoms and Virgin Worlds in the area, protecting those who have already joined the Throne on one hand, and demonstrating the power of the Throne to the Savage Kingdoms still on the fence. There are 21 Savage Kingdoms in their area of operations, 12 of which already belong to the Throne, and another 9 that can be won over. This adds up to nearly six million people, who can provide at least three hundred thousand soldiers. That's far more valuable than a fleet. In the past, the Throne didn't have much power there, so even the subordinate Savage Kingdoms were only superficially compliant. How does that saying go? 'Where the fleet is, the empire exists.' When the former pirates visit with the Throne's banner, I believe their attitude will quickly change, wholeheartedly aligning with the Throne both materially and spiritually. Also, the Steel Eyes Cruiser Fleet is only nominally led by Kellis. I've already granted her the position of Chief Secretary of the Naval Department of the Privy Council. Her main job will mostly be in the Privy Council. She will only become the fleet commander during wartime. Gradually, the Steel Eyes Cruiser Fleet will get used to accepting orders from the Privy Council, rather than individual commands."

"Did she agree?"

"Of course. I promised her that as soon as Gomorrah is dealt with, the modified Shadow Nexus will be managed by Salain. Of course, provided that... she earns it."

"Oh? Why are you suddenly so agreeable?"

Veronica leaned over and looked up at Sorsaryan's face.

"You wouldn't... have you and Kellis...?"

"Tsk, what are you thinking? Am I that... Ahem, the reason is that Kellis told me some unknown past of Salain. You might not even imagine that Salain is actually a descendant of a Gomorrah general."

"Oh?"

Veronica showed a surprised expression.

"From the largest ruling family in Gomorrah? In the ancient empire era, they were said to be regional lords."

"Yes, the Sharma family."

"It seems they were wiped out by enemy forces a long time ago. I didn't expect there to be any descendants left."

"Not only that, Aurode left only the road to the Gomorrah armory and a secret door in the relics left by Wulk, but to control the defense system inside, you need the bloodline of the Gomorrah general. Viktor achieved this through the Blood-Singers. He has the only active blood sample of the Sharma family. In the future, to capture Gomorrah, we must control the armory to prevent the other party from resorting to extermination weapons in desperation. But just getting in isn't enough. We must seize control of the defense system and keep Viktor's people out. So Salain is very useful."

"To encounter this, it seems fate is indeed on our side."

Saying that, Veronica lowered her head and stroked her slightly obvious belly, smiling gently:

"Let's use Gomorrah as a gift for our first child."

Sorsaryan reached out and put his arm around Veronica's waist.

"I'm going back to Nayson IV tomorrow. Do you want to go?"

"Aren't you going back to the battlefield?"

"Just for a day or two. I have something to do, I need to find someone."

"Ananda?"

"Yes."

"But in a couple of days, I'm going to perform a blessing ceremony for a group of girls and pregnant women from the Morken Kingdom. You'll have to go alone."

"Then you also need to be careful and don't get too tired."

After spending half a day with his wife, Sorsaryan used the Webway to quickly arrive near the Nayson system, and then took an Eldar scout ship with stealth capabilities through the tight defense network and arrived in orbit of Nayson IV.

Sorsaryan did not go to the Chapter Monastery Fortress, but went directly to the valley where Rocheim was located.

When the graceful lines of the Eldar fighter appeared on the grassy land, Sorsaryan had already stepped out of the cockpit, and then the fighter turned into a transparent camouflage form again.

Walking into the valley step by step, Sorsaryan saw many road signs piled up with small stones, as well as ponds covered with lotus leaves, and fields planted with vegetables and fruits.

"Bitches call me granite, my rod is harder than iron, countless every day~ gold gold gold gold gold gold gold~ money money money money money money money~".

Suddenly, a stocky, short figure walked out of the mist. He was carrying two buckets of water with a shoulder pole, humming a strange tune. Sorsaryan took a closer look. Isn't this Rocheim's short-statured follower, Dogo?

The man was wearing a rough gray short-sleeved shirt, with his trouser legs rolled up, looking like a farmer. He immediately saw Sorsaryan and froze.

"Ah? Isn't this... Chapter Master Sorsaryan? What are you doing here? Weren't you fighting the Tyranids? The Tyranids haven't reached here, have they?"

"I'm here to see Master Shi for something. I thought you went to do business."

"I wanted to! I had already booked a shop, but that damned Rocheim tricked me into here, and I can't get out! It's like hitting a wall in the Warp, no matter how I go around, I end up in that broken tower. Chapter Master, please, can you take me out later?"

"It's okay, how has Rocheim been lately?"

The two walked along the path pointed out by the stone signs. Suddenly, Sorsaryan heard a mechanical clicking sound. He turned his head and saw a machine shaped like a giant rat was plowing the land with a modified arm. Not far away, in a thatched shed, a figure wrapped in a black robe seemed to be sleeping soundly on a wooden bed, with a pile of gnawed melons and fruits next to him.

"Him, hehe, he deserves it."

Hearing Dogo say this, Sorsaryan was a little curious.

"He deserves it? What do you mean?"

"Let him eat vegetarian food every day until he vomits."

"Haha, that must be hard, for him."

Soon, the towering stupa appeared in front of him. Sorsaryan saw that green-skinned Kroot was busy with a pile of power generation equipment, and Loken was next to him.

"This broken thing, damn it, is probably seven or eight thousand years old, damn it, it breaks down again after I fix it for a while. Can't these electric monks get a new one?"

From afar, Sorsaryan heard Loken's curses. The other party also heard footsteps, turned his head, and almost collapsed to the ground in fright.

"Ch-Chapter Master!?"

Sorsaryan smiled slightly.

"Long time no see, Loken. How have you been lately?"

Loken immediately showed a bitter face.

"A little..."

"Too boring? If you've thought about it, I can let you go back to the Monastery Fortress, or go to the front line with the Chapter."

Sorsaryan actually felt a little emotional about Loken. Back then, he was one of the few Tech-Priests in the Chapter and gave the Chapter the first pot of gold for its rise. It's not that he didn't want to give Loken preferential treatment, but he could feel that Loken, who hung out with Rocheim, was much happier than he was in his previous position.
