The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#3025 - Sadly, it's falling
Chapter 3029 Lamentable Fall
“Again, again!”
In the dim light, the heavy battle-axe clashed against the thin longsword, Lucius's smile widening as if he had found a desirable prey, his blade relentlessly pursuing Dogo.
His arms moved in rapid succession, the blade sweeping like a wave, coiling into a deadly spiral, tightening mercilessly. Dogo struggled to parry and counterattack, but he couldn't match his opponent's speed. When Lucius brought his blade down in a heavy chop, that speed would concentrate all the force onto the edge.
Dogo had to roll during the attack, barely managing to stand up at the edge of the blade's reach, then used his axe to brace against the sword, twisting it violently. But his opponent suddenly lunged forward, the blade whispering just millimeters from Dogo's skin. Dogo quickly twisted his arm, spun again, and regained his momentum.
Seeing his opponent escape once more, Lucius grinned like a wolf.
Then he twisted his wrist again, the blade sweeping towards Dogo's exposed throat and abdomen. This time, Dogo stood his ground, striking the blade not to block, but to redirect it, allowing it to harmlessly graze past him.
But just when he thought he had blocked it, he felt something slice across his abdomen. As he jumped back, he saw a deep red line etched into his flesh. Lucius's other arm extended, wielding a flailing, sharp-edged whip that cracked sharply as it lashed out towards Dogo.
The Forgeborn tried to cleave the whip with his battle-axe, but it was like trying to chop a slippery eel. Not only did he miss, but he gained another wound on his chest.
Eventually, Dogo had to retreat, gasping for breath.
On the other side, Eidolon naturally wouldn't let the one who fooled him get away. He fixed his gaze on Rozeem and charged over as Dogo disengaged.
“Mortal, kneel. I will make your pain more pleasurable.”
Just when he thought his opponent was nothing more than fish on a chopping board, Rozeem, who had been panting with his hands on the ground, suddenly erupted.
“Die, you whore-mongering bastard!”
Rozeem rose up with a punch so fast that Eidolon didn't react in time, and the punch landed squarely on his face. The immense force sent him staggering backward several steps.
“Damn it!”
Seeing the black blood on his hand, Eidolon's fury was further ignited. He grabbed his warhammer and smashed it towards Rozeem.
The latter nimbly dodged the blow, and with a backhand, smashed an elbow into Eidolon's face. But Eidolon blocked it, then with a forceful heave, sent Rozeem flying, along with the tattered pieces of his clothes that were scattered by the gale.
“Not bad for a mortal.”
Eidolon twisted his wrist, the force of the blow making him suspect his opponent was an Astartes.
At the same time, other Noise Marines and Terminators surrounded them, their blades gleaming coldly.
“Boss! Your sword!”
Just as Rozeem was struggling to get up, Loken crawled out of the cracked bulletproof glass and threw something out.
Rozeem reached out and caught it, dashed towards Eidolon, ripped off the cloth wrapped around the sword, and brought it down in a heavy chop.
But Eidolon simply raised his warhammer to meet the blow, then looked at the rusty, strange sword and grinned.
“You think this trash can kill me?”
With that, he twisted his hand, but before the hammer could smash into his opponent, Rozeem faked a move and dodged, then swung the longsword towards his lower private area.
With a clang, the unsharpened sword struck the power armor as if ringing a bell. Before Rozeem could react in astonishment, a fist smashed in from the side, sending him flying.
“Tickling? Didn't eat?”
Looking at Rozeem, who was smashed into a pile of rubble, dizzy and cross-eyed, Eidolon spun his warhammer with a cruel smile on his face.
“Go, cut off his limbs first, I want to slowly torture him.”
Two Noise Marines walked over, their longswords eager, and reached out towards Rozeem—
Bitter Sea of Delusion, Lamentable Fall
Suddenly, Rozeem grabbed the wrists of the two Noise Marines, and in their astonished gazes, used a force that didn't belong to him to drag them to the ground. Then he soared into the air and landed, sitting cross-legged firmly on the two Noise Marines.
In that instant, the two Noise Marines only let out a scream before falling silent.
Rozeem reached out and picked up the cloak from the power armor that had been blown in front of him, draping it diagonally over his body like a robe. When he looked at Eidolon, his pupils were surrounded by a circle of mysterious golden light.
“Playing tricks again, preparing to scare someone again?”
Eidolon sneered, holding his warhammer and charging over, smashing the weapon down towards Rozeem's head with a violent horizontal sweep.
Then the latter suddenly leaned back, barely avoiding the blow, then raised his right leg and kicked Eidolon's arm. Immediately, Eidolon felt as if his arm had been hit by a rocket, as if his entire arm armor had cracked, causing unbearable pain.
As Eidolon screamed and retreated, Rozeem clapped his hands on the ground, stood up instantly, and closed in to within half a meter of Eidolon, throwing a punch.
“Ugh!”
The First Captain was instantly sent flying dozens of meters, but Rozeem didn't pursue. Instead, he turned and darted towards the left, and as a blade landed on the scarred Dogo, he pressed his palms together, clamping the Reaver's longsword.
“Hmm?”
Lucius narrowed his black eyes. Although he kept exerting force, his weapon remained motionless.
“You—I'm done.”
Dogo only glanced at Rozeem before his eyes rolled back and he collapsed to the ground.
Without a word, Rozeem flipped his hand to the right, forcing Lucius to almost release his sword. Then his long whip lashed out from the left towards Rozeem, but the latter turned his head, took a deep breath, and blew hard. Lucius's long whip instantly shattered into pieces.
“What!”
This time, Lucius was shocked.
“Kill him together!”
The roaring Eidolon appeared from behind Rozeem, his warhammer falling with endless hatred, but Rozeem had already retreated in anticipation. As the warhammer swept past in front of him, his shoulder heavily collided with Eidolon's chest, sending him flying again.
At the same time, the other Emperor's Children soldiers realized that this person was not to be trifled with, so they activated the firearms in their hands and began shooting.
Rozeem released the hand clamping Lucius's weapon, forcefully kicked up a piece of the Contemptor's wreckage with his right foot, blocking the bolters and bullets. Then golden light flashed, and the wreckage smashed forward, directly crushing two Terminators who couldn't dodge against the wall.
“Finally here!”
Lucius excitedly stuck out his tongue, ignoring his teammates' firepower. The longsword chased the prey like a greedy snake, and Eidolon also stood up, his warhammer attacking from the side.
Rozeem first charged towards Eidolon, his fist directly meeting the opponent's heavy hammer, sending the weapon flying. Then he turned around, slapped open Lucius's blade, and struck the latter's face with a palm.
“Ah!”
Lucius staggered backward, his entire head feeling as if it had been shaken up. At this time, he also felt that this person was not right.
“Impossible, how can a mortal have such power?”
