The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#3129 - Rozim's first visit to Eden Valley
Realizing there was some impatience in the other party's words, Roquim gave a slightly awkward laugh and then changed the subject.
"Your High Gothic is very good, brother. I can't detect any accent."
"That's because we are the Golden Feather Guard, the eyes and ears of the Prince. We don't just operate within the Royal Court; language is the most basic tool. Not only High Gothic, but we also have to master the languages of more than twenty civilized races."
"Wow, that's very impressive."
As they spoke, the airship had already descended to less than a hundred meters above the ground, and a moist sea breeze rushed towards them.
They arrived near the coastal bay at the base of the giant tree's roots, where they could see huge aquatic animals playing in the bay. They had four thick fins and slender necks. When they leaped out of the sea, their pink bodies were surrounded by bubbles, creating a dreamlike scene. When they fell back into the water, their beautiful twin tails slapped the surface, causing schools of colorful fish to leap out—these were marine dragons, a tribute from the Linnae Kingdom, kept as ornamental animals.
Occasionally, lithe Eldar maidens in long cyan dresses could be seen walking along the beach in groups, collecting beautiful shells, but they were merely tiny decorations on this vast beach.
Even from Roquim's altitude, this sea area was extremely vast, stretching all the way to the horizon, seemingly extending forever.
Soon, the airship landed on a platform directly facing an archway made of leafy vines. A team of Aeldari maidens with extraordinary appearances and temperaments, holding spears and wearing ancient-style skirt armor, were already waiting there. Leading them was a captain holding a golden tree-shaped staff, with a long sword at her waist, a bright silver cloak behind her, and waist-length black hair.
"Captain Nystra, the people have arrived."
The Golden Feather Guard came to the Eternal Servants, then turned sideways and pointed to Roquim and the others who were getting off the airship.
"They have been checked, no dangerous goods, but there is an Ork and a Hrud."
Nystra's clear, cold eyes looked at Roquim and the others, then nodded slightly.
"His Majesty has already said it's not a problem."
The Golden Feather Guard then turned to Roquim and said:
"We'll take you this far. Captain Nystra will be responsible for the road into the Eden Pre-Valley."
With that, the Golden Feather Guards returned to the airship and took off.
"Mr. Roquim, please."
Nystra's voice was soft and melodious, and Roquim immediately flashed what he thought was his most friendly smile, nodding incessantly.
"Thank you, thank you—"
She then turned around, and the maids split into two teams, sandwiching the group in the middle.
After following the Eternal Servants through the vine archway, Roquim arrived in a delightful, enormous garden. Everything here was natural, with mossy rocks forming wide buttresses and towering columns, as if walking beneath a starry, narrow valley. Sparkling waterfalls rushed down from the cracks in the rocks, filling crystal-clear pools, creating the illusion of a narrow mountain crevice.
The garden was dotted with many statues, which seemed to have formed naturally from minerals, emitting a unique light. The vast courtyard was lush with greenery, from simple ferns and mosses to giant trees five or six meters in diameter and flowers as tall as a person. Crystal ore beds sparkled among the ponds and rockeries, bringing an otherworldly, fairy-tale-like scene, as if shy phantom creatures were playing and frolicking just beyond sight.
Occasionally, winding pavilions and towers could be seen on the clear, mirror-like lakesides, all elegant and exquisite Aeldari architecture. Small boats woven from plants floated on the lakes, carrying maids in green sleeveless robes, carrying flower baskets, seemingly collecting some strange flowers from the water surface, and occasionally playing and frolicking with their compatriots. Those distant laughter in the faint mist gave a mysterious feeling of lake fairies, coupled with the shapely figures outlined by the slit robes that were tightly attached to their skin after being wet by the water, Roquim and Loken's eyeballs almost popped out.
"Roquim, how can these Eldar girls be so pretty and delicate? Our Warband Leader really knows how to enjoy himself."
Hearing Loken's voice, which was so low it was almost inaudible, Roquim raised an eyebrow slightly, turned his head, and said in a low voice:
"Nonsense, otherwise why would Horus be willing to rebel so desperately? This is the benefit of being the Emperor!"
"Uh? Is that the reason?"
"It can't be that he's just bored, right?"
"Hey, do you think I can ask her name later?"
"Who?"
"The one leading."
Roquim glanced at Nystra's back.
"Tsk tsk tsk, you want to learn from our boss? Go back and hug your fourth-generation custom-made slumber doll and sleep!"
Of course, as the Pre-Valley, there were not only women here. Occasionally, male government officials and Bonesingers holding scrolls and bone flutes could be seen passing by in a hurry. In addition, near some shrines, there were Pathfarers in contemplation, such as Dark Reapers in black armor and Wraithguards in white armor, as well as scowling Howling Banshees. In front of some large palaces, such as the Phoenix Temple, Phoenix Guard could be seen standing motionless.
There were even Oreád busy in the garden, holding various equipment and tools. They emitted a harmonious rhythm similar to music when they worked, proving that they were in a very good mood. One of the plants they were taking care of was a person-high shrub with thick leaves and many luminous seeds on it. Whenever a breeze blew, those seeds would fly into the sky, but they would not fall to the ground. Instead, they would turn into a kind of miniature insect with eight pairs of wings. When there were a large number of them, they would form an aurora-like shape. They were not only beautiful, but also regulated the humidity and oxygen content in the air, and would only fall to the ground and become real seeds when they were about to die.
However, when these Oreád saw Roquim and the others, especially Krenn, their voices would immediately change, revealing a burst of fear, which also made the maids in lace dresses who were taking care of the garden with the Oreád cast unfriendly glances.
In fact, it wasn't just them; almost all the Aeldari in the Pre-Valley would cast curious or disgusted glances at Roquim and the others.
But Roquim didn't care about these things. Who was he?
If the Imperial Palace on Terra wasn't so heavily guarded, he would have wanted to sneak in for a stroll!
During this time, Roquim even witnessed the work process of the Bonesingers. It was a newly built shrine. The Bonesingers at work wore helmets and masks, with tall antlers on both sides of the helmet and a thick protrusion on their chins. They sang and danced, moving slowly and lazily, with their hands open and their arms straight.
Several other people were playing instruments, and then the melodies of the instruments and songs converged, emitting a bright light. Strands of light began to rotate around a shining core, forming a galaxy-like structure.
When the rhythm changed and the light merged, it formed pillars, walls, and complex archways with statues, which stunned Roquim and Loken at the time.
