The Emperor’s Angel of Death

#3153 - Princess Blade

Chapter 3157: Princess of Pride

After the air raid, although the pirates who reacted moved all their heavy weapons and vehicles out, the Blackheart Cabal was not an ordinary rabble. They had many ways to deal with the Wasp assault boats and Wraithguards. One of them was enveloped in a blaze of heat as the Scourge's heat lance spewed liquid fire—this weapon was a major technological breakthrough for Commorragh. It had the scorching power of a melta weapon and the high precision of a laser weapon, making it extremely destructive.

The damaged Wraithguard staggered backward, its broken and melting joints emitting a grating sound. Kanelli felt the pain of his kin's soul and immediately rushed over, using his psychic power to dissipate the oppressive heatwave and removing the spirit stone with his white-gloved hand.

"Vylai, it's alright."

After gently comforting one of the tormented souls, Kanelli turned to see Salania already launching an attack.

And as she had anticipated, Valossian had arranged firepower to deal with him. The Haemonculi used venom cannons and blastmasters to form a powerful line of fire. The Void Dragon Corsair's Sky Dreamer, Simone, immediately poured out her psychic power, creating a rainbow-like shockwave that overturned several venom cannons and continuously rippled through the Blackheart Cabal's defenses. She had been hesitant to use psychic power before for fear of affecting the seal, but now that the arrow was on the string, she couldn't worry about it anymore.

Under the cover of psychic energy, hundreds of elite pirates followed their Corsair princess into the Blackheart Cabal's temporary defenses. A pirate who had just jumped over a barricade made of broken Ravagers staggered and fell before he could land, dozens of bullet holes appearing in his bright armor. The poisonous crystals killed him instantly.

As he fell, others immediately recovered the spirit stone from his chest.

Salania charged into the crowd like a fierce leopard, turning, aiming, and firing three shots, three Cabal warriors falling in response.

Then she wielded her ancient command blade, slaying an enemy charging at her, and casually kicked the convulsing corpse aside before nimbly dodging aside as a venom cannon fired, tearing the wreckage and an unlucky Cabal warrior into pieces.

In the Void Dragon Corsair band, everyone agreed that Salania's martial skills were formidable. Even her dissatisfied uncles and aunts would only grumble, "That little one is quite skilled," when her personal strength was mentioned.

Some questioned her strategy, and some questioned her wisdom, but no one ever questioned two things:

Her beauty and her swordsmanship.

It was said that Asuryan's Hand, Asurmen, had visited the Dragon's Nest when she was young and praised her for her exceptional talent, saying that if she embarked on the Path of the Seer, she would soon become an Autarch.

However, this powerful personal strength sometimes led Salania to make decisions without much consideration or restraint, and sometimes she seemed a bit naive when dealing with complex issues of interest, which earned her the nickname 'Princess of Pride'.

"Hehehe, little princess, come and play with us!"

A series of cruel giggles rang out as several Wyches landed around her like preying hawks, while her bodyguards were blocked by more of these madwomen adorned with turquoise and gold ornaments.

The Cult of the Cursed Blade, even in Commorragh, was known for its treachery and malice. These Brides of Khaine believed that betrayal was the highest virtue because the act itself was a high-speed natural selection process, ensuring that only the most cunning and powerful individuals survived. They were also one of the few Wych cults that would personally attack the audience.

But likewise, the strength of the Wyches in this cult was naturally top-notch, or rather, the weak simply could not survive even for a second in this cult.

Salania, who had holstered her pistol, dodged the first gleaming arc of a blade, then sidestepped away from the second blade, performing a reverse movement with amazing physical flexibility, high-kicking a poisoned throwing knife away with her high heel.

The moment she steadied herself, the blade in her hand swept out, coiling into a deadly spiral, relentlessly constricting, instantly striking a Wych who couldn't dodge in time, slicing open her shoulder amidst her curses.

But after succeeding, she had no time, immediately turning and raising her sword to parry as a Wych tried to strike from behind, her twin blades unstoppable, cleaving down. The Bride of Khaine put all her weight into the blades. Salania deflected the blades and quickly twisted and uppercut.

The blade whispered close to the Wych's silken skin, only millimeters away, then drew a long, thin line of scarlet.

However, the Wych, who had taken combat drugs beforehand, became even more ferocious after being injured, disregarding the cut and swinging her arms again, the blades slashing at Salania's throat and abdomen.

This time, Salania chose close combat, raising her blade, not to block, but to redirect the blades, allowing them to harmlessly graze past her.

Then her pistol suddenly reappeared in her hand. As she returned to her starting stance, the opponent's blade carved a shallow mark on her armor, and the body emitted a sharp crackling sound. Shuriken exploded on her, turning her into a blur of flesh and blood.

Throughout the entire process, she displayed the elegance, agility, and even artistry of Aeldari martial arts to the fullest, as if she were not fighting but performing a cheerful dance. But this dance was calm and silent. Compared to the Khaine Brides' frenzy and bloodlust, Salania seemed like an artist playing a melodious tune.

Then she holstered her pistol again. Before an attacking Wych could even swing her curved blade, a slightly glowing whip wrapped around her neck, tearing her head, still bearing an expression of shock, bloodily from her shoulders.

Salania was not only skilled in swordsmanship; in fact, she was proficient in most weapons, but she preferred the whip as her secondary weapon.

Behind her, another Wych charged in a zealous but ill-considered manner. Salania simply sidestepped, flicking her whip backhandedly, striking the opponent's face, causing a scream. Then the cold light of her longsword flashed, beheading the attacker. Another attacker rushed up, only to meet the blade with her eye socket. After piercing through her head, she kicked the lifeless corpse away with force, sending it crashing into the distant ruins.

Although she had eliminated all the Wyches surrounding her, her progress was ultimately stalled.

Valossian and the Bloodbrides had already boarded the gunboat and left, his gruesome laughter serving as a signal.

Then, a sudden change occurred!
