The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#3265 - Past Events in Youdu (Part 2)
After the flirting ended, Victor spoke:
"Master, this is the last priest's head!"
He knelt on the ground, holding up the bloody head in his hands. The noblewoman frowned, casting a disgusted glance, seemingly annoyed that he had interrupted her and her lover's moment.
"Where did this lowly slave come from? Get out!"
Phoenix, however, turned his head slightly, caressing his companion's back to soothe her, then said slowly:
"Put it on the ground. Well done. Take your men to collect the spoils of war."
"Thank you, Master! Thank you, Master!"
Victor was overjoyed. He kowtowed three times, then stood up, bowed, and turned to leave. As he turned, he could hear the noblewoman adopting a delicate tone.
"Darling, you're too kind. Spoiling slaves will make them forget their place. They need constant punishment and discipline."
"It's fine."
"I love your confidence. Only you could destroy over fifty thousand cultists with just three thousand men. The family couldn't do anything about them even with an army of a hundred thousand. No wonder some call you 'an army without soldiers.' If Father knew, he would be astonished. Who would have thought you could make them kill each other with just a little trick..."
As Victor lowered his head, he found himself in a cloud of mist. A graceful figure in a low-cut white dress walked past him, bringing a unique fragrance. He cautiously glanced at her.
This was a woman from a wandering ark, perhaps abducted, originally intended as a gift for a great noble, but rescued by his master along the way. As always, she was captivated by Phoenix's charm, willing to become one of his lovers. But unlike the women of Gomo, she was not only beautiful but also possessed a pure and noble aura, the kind of woman Victor could only dream of, the noblest lady he had ever seen, like a goddess. Her long black hair cascaded down her back as she walked, like a brilliant galaxy.
She lifted the translucent gauze curtain and walked to the edge of the bath, where a unique instrument stood. She reached out her slender hand and gently began to play.
"How did things go?"
A lazy voice floated out from the mist in the bath. Victor quickly replied:
"It's done. Pandemonium's armory will provide the Sender family with a batch of high-quality individual weapons and airships, but... Master, hasn't the Sender family been causing you trouble?"
"Friends and enemies are never permanent. They suffered heavy losses in the last raid, encountering the human empire's main force. This time, several hostile families are attacking together. Without support, they will have a hard time surviving."
"Isn't that a good thing?"
"Victor, remember, the nobles' games are always kept within limits. Their simple minds can understand that excessive infighting will lead to disastrous consequences. So, if we want to weaken the nobles' power, we must first push their conflicts to a fever pitch, making them cross the line. The Sender family's failure was also my arrangement, and I guided the other families to besiege them. Now, I'm helping the Sender family again. Why? Because I want them to fight to the death, to tear off this pretense."
After speaking, Victor heard the sound of splashing water and lowered his head even further.
Suddenly, the music was disrupted, mixed with the sounds of kissing. After a moment, the voice continued:
"After you return, find Dogo. He will give you something. Take your men to the Magic Heart Auction House and auction it off, starting at twenty thousand slaves. Don't worry about anything else."
"Yes, Master."
Before the words were finished, he heard a charming tremor. The music was completely chaotic, turning into unnecessary tones, and finally stopping.
Victor slightly raised his eyebrows, only able to see a blurry outline through the weapon and the gauze curtain. The noble ark woman leaned forward, one hand on the instrument, the other reaching back, grabbed by another hand. At the same time, the melodious moan replaced the beautiful music. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he couldn't have imagined such a noble woman making such a sound.
"Master, I take my leave."
When he looked up, he was already standing under a towering spire. The spire was so magnificent, once an unattainable goal in the lower city. It was like a dream, a dream he couldn't touch.
But now, he stood before it, feeling its immensity, its grandeur, its desire, and its power.
Guards were everywhere, patrolling airships were high above, turrets and landing pads were on the secondary towers, and he could see the oval-shaped ecological garden in the middle of the spire.
Confidently adjusting his new, luxurious armor, he strode up the steps. When the guards raised their hands to question him, he proudly pointed to his neck, where a phoenix mark was. The guards would then step aside and give him a respectful look.
Now, no one in Gomo would disrespect Phoenix, not even his dog, who would receive a certain degree of respect.
He went all the way up, and when he arrived at a hall, he saw the short, stout man sleeping on the carpet with a wine bottle in his arms. He carefully walked over, picked up another blanket from the side, and covered him. Then he continued up, finally arriving at the door of a palace that even the high-ranking attendants in the spire rarely entered. Although this was not nominally his master's residence, it actually was.
He waited for a long time at the door before the silent attendants opened a side door for him to enter. He originally thought that he would be meeting in a formal hall, but he didn't expect to be led to a living room. The decorations here were extremely luxurious. When a door opened, his master walked out in a loose robe, revealing his muscular chest. In the instant the door opened and closed, he vaguely saw a large bed with two sleeping beauties on it.
This spire belonged to Madam Dusonner, the widow of an ancient noble and the head of this family. She only had one daughter, who was also a well-known beauty in the Gomo noble circle... well, this was also one of his master's unique charms, seemingly not so concerned about worldly morals.
"Master, the Ironblood Arena has been taken care of. At the next arena tournament, it will be Shayufu's death day!"
Phoenix only smiled slightly at Victor's offering of merit, then gently snapped his fingers. A charming female attendant wearing an almost transparent gauze dress walked over with a golden wine glass and placed it on the coffee table in front of Victor. Victor glanced carefully and noticed that this was Madam Dusonner's niece, also a notoriously arrogant bitch, but now she was as docile as a pet in front of his master. After putting down the glass, she didn't leave, but sat directly in his arms, her hand reaching into his robe, constantly stroking.
"My good servant, this is your reward."
