Fu Yucheng looked at Bai Mo, speechless and feeling a headache forming.

This kid, is there no end to it?

Bai Mo looked at him stubbornly with dark eyes, and repeated, “Did nothing really happen… between Rong Yuan and you? You didn’t lie to me?”

There really hadn’t been anything between him and Rong Yuan, so he could only say, “That’s the truth.”

Bai Mo looked at him carefully for a long moment before muttering, “If you lie to me again, then I…”

Fu Yucheng had been hounded by him for so long that his patience had reached the limit. He couldn’t help but grab a handful of his own hair anxiously. “Bai Mo, how many times do I have to tell you? Nothing means nothing! How can you be so irritating?”

Bai Mo looked at him quietly, his eyes suddenly reddening. “You said before that you wouldn’t leave me behind.”

Fu Yucheng glared at him. He felt like a balloon full of air that had exploded after the other lightly poked at it with a needle.

Shit.

He was silent for a while, then licked his lips and reluctantly explained himself. “I couldn’t have done anything else. At that time, I wouldn’t have been able to save you, so I could only… I could only hand you over.”

“I know,” Bai Mo whispered. “But why didn’t you look for me for so many years?”

“I…” Having lost his footing for a moment, Fu Yucheng was unable to respond with anything.

Bai Mo had asked that same question the night before, and he had pretended to be asleep to avoid answering it.

Sadly, there are some things that you have to face, sooner or later.

Bai Mo stared at him intensely. “I want to know, did you ever want to come and find me during these years? Did you think about it even once? Did you?”

Without thinking, Fu Yucheng looked away to the side without saying a word.

Seeing him like that, Bai Mo couldn’t help but clench his teeth. Even his voice sounded a bit choked. “Is that it? You have nothing more to say?”

Under such an attack, Fu Yucheng simply dropped all his armor. He softened his voice and once again apologized in a low tone breathlessly. “I’m sorry.”

However, the other didn’t appreciate the apology and suddenly raised his voice instead. “I said I don’t want to hear a ’sorry’!”

Fu Yucheng felt completely clueless and he could only look at the other helplessly. “Then what do you want?”

Bai Mo stared at him intensely. “From now on, you are not allowed to lie to me, you can’t deceive me again… Whether it’s about Rong Yuan or anything else.”

Fu Yucheng lowered his head and did not dare to say anything.

Bai Mo looked at him, his voice gradually sinking. “So, you are actually lying about Rong Yuan? You two actually…”

“No, no!” Fu Yucheng couldn’t help crying out.

He really didn’t lie about the messy situation with Rong Yuan. They didn’t have that kind of relationship. However, he did have a lot of things to hide from Bai Mo, very important things.

Bai Mo looked at him quietly for a long time, then suddenly opened his arms and hugged the man, whispering, “Well, I will believe you again, just this once…”

His voice became softer and softer, and then he slowly lowered his head, burying his face in the crook of the other man’s neck.

Fu Yucheng was held tightly, feeling that something was wrong, but his mind was preoccupied with too many disjointed thoughts and he felt very guilty, so he let it go.

As Bai Mo hugged the other, his nose deeply buried against the warm neck, he took in a fresh, bitter breath, his dark eyes dull.

If, if you lie to me again…

Suddenly, an extremely piercing sound broke the silence, tearing it like silk.

Alongside this sound, a floating hole appeared in the center of their room, faintly shining with electric light. A handsome boy, seventeen or eighteen years old, took a light step and jumped out of the space.

When he saw Bai Mo and Fu Yucheng, he froze.

Fu Yucheng was also momentarily taken aback and pushed Bai Mo away.

Bai Mo turned his head and looked at the handsome boy who had suddenly appeared in front of him. He asked coldly, “Liang, what are you doing here?”

The visitor opened his eyes wide. “Mo, are you two…”

Fu Yucheng had already understood that the young man before him was one of the six Dark Knights, Liang. He was the youngest Knight in the group and had an A-class psionic power, Space Breaking, with a limitless future ahead of him.

Bai Mo calmly turned to his side, blocking Fu Yucheng from view. “If you have anything to say, hurry up, cut the crap.”

Liang pouted. “Why are you still this cold?”

Bai Mo looked at him icily without speaking.

Liang rolled his eyes indifferently and said, “Well, I’m just here to inform you of one thing: His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince is summoning the twelve Knights on the seventh day of the next month, at the White Rose Palace Conference Hall. Don’t be late.”

Bai Mo frowned but didn’t ask anything else and just nodded. “Got it.”

However, Liang still refused to leave. His eyes, as clear as colored glass, moved and fell on Fu Yucheng. “Mo, is he…?”

Bai Mo interrupted him impatiently. “It’s none of your business.”

Even though he was interrupted, Liang stubbornly finished his question. “Is he… your man?”

Bai Mo froze for a moment, then he looked at Fu Yucheng hesitantly, and nodded. “Yeah.”

Liang clicked his tongue and circled Fu Yucheng. “This one is pretty… much better than the one Ling-jie1 just switched to.”

His gaze, looking at him as if he were a toy, made Fu Yucheng want to cry and laugh both. He didn’t care to start anything with the kid, so he lowered his head and remained silent.

Liang spent a long time looking at him, and he tried to approach and take a closer look several times, but he was always blocked by Bai Mo.

“Is he so new that you’re keeping him hidden away…?” The young man sneered unhappily and rolled his eyes. “I’ll wait then, can you lend him to me for a few days if you get tired of playing with him? I’ll be careful and make sure to return him to you in one piece, same as new.”

Bai Mo, “…”

Fu Yucheng, “…” I’m sorry, but I really think it’s hilarious.

The boy was surprised. “Mo, look at that, he smiled! He wants to!”

“Get out!” Bai Mo waved his hand impatiently and an ice wall emerged out of thin air, directly pushing the boy back into the portal. And then, the cave closed.

Fu Yucheng laughed so much that his stomach hurt. “Hahaha, fuck, are you Dark Knights all like this? It seems that I have a pretty good market…”

Seeing his joyful expression, an evil idea suddenly popped up in Bai Mo’s mind and he leaped forward and began to tickle the other. “So you want to laugh! Why don’t you keep laughing!”

After Bai Mo turned sixteen or seventeen, the two seldom played around like this. At that moment, Fu Yucheng was unprepared and the ticklish spot at his waist was suddenly attacked. He broke into laughter. “Hahaha- What are you doing, don’t play anymore… hahaha-”

The two fought on the sofa for a while. Fu Yucheng was defeated and ended up having to beg for mercy desperately. “Stop playing, stop- I was in the wrong, hahaha-”

Bai Mo gasped in a low tone and forcefully pinned him down. “Do you still not surrender?”

“I surrender, I surrender!” Fu Yucheng repeated.

Bai Mo looked down at him, and said, “Then… kiss me.”

Fu Yucheng blinked slowly.

Bai Mo actually regretted saying it as soon as he spoke. He was a little afraid of Fu Yucheng getting angry, but he didn’t know how to take his words back and, for a while, he was at a loss of what to do.

Fu Yucheng looked at him for a few moments, then suddenly sighed and propped himself up, pressing his lips lightly against the other’s cheek.

Bai Mo froze as he felt a pair of something warm and soft pressing against his cheek.

Only after a long time had gone by, he whispered, “What… what do you mean by this?”

Fu Yucheng stared at him. “Little Mo, you are very important to me. But, I can’t give you… the sort of thing you want right now.”

He paused, then added, “Afterwards… I will consider it seriously.”

Bai Mo stared at him blankly. “Afterwards? After what?”

Fu Yucheng pondered for a while. “After my business… after it’s all done.”

“What do you want to do? Do you want revenge? Do you want to rescue your teacher? Can I help you? Why do you… not want to tell me?” Bai Mo whispered.

Fu Yucheng looked at his dark eyes and suddenly, he wasn’t able to say anything such as ‘I don’t want to get you involved’.

After an unknown period of time, he whispered, “Little Mo, I promised you that I wouldn’t lie to you again. Therefore, I can only tell you that I have to do an important thing to get back what’s mine.”

“You don’t have any psionic power now…” Bai Mo said anxiously.

Fu Yucheng interrupted him. “You don’t understand. I have been preparing for this for a long time… I am very confident about it.”

Bai Mo whispered, “But I want to help you.”

Fu Yucheng looked at him for a long time before saying, “…Take me to the Ecoregions.” Originally, he had planned to participate in the psionic power test celebrated every four years with the goal of going to the Ecoregions and meeting Rong Yuan and the six Light Knights in person.

And then, he wanted to…

Bai Mo stared at him and slowly nodded. “I’ll take you. But if you plan to do something dangerous, you must tell me. Don’t lie to me. I’m different from before. I can protect you.”

Dyson Cloud Central Empire, Ninth Ecoregion.

White Rose Palace, Imperial Study.

Rong Yuan lowered his eyes and tightened his grip without thinking. He didn’t even notice that the thin terminal in his hand had been bent out of shape.

The broken screen fragments cut into his palm, warm blood dripping onto the smooth floor, producing a soft sound. Drip, drip, drip—

“Your Imperial Highness, your hand…” Liang, with one knee on the ground, raised his head hesitantly.

Rong Yuan finally recovered and whispered, “How did they look?”

After hesitating for a while, Liang chose a more prudent statement. “They… are very close.”

Rong Yuan was silent for a moment, then suddenly sneered. “Very well. It seems that he finally found another one, someone else to use.”

Liang asked softly, “Your Imperial Highness, should I… continue to keep an eye on the White Knight?”

Rong Yuan replied coldly, “No, they will find the door by themselves… I would like to see what he’s going to do.”

Liang wanted to add something, but Rong Yuan waved his hand impatiently and told him to retreat.

After sitting in the study for a long time, the distinguished Imperial Prince suddenly couldn’t bear it any longer and stood up, throwing the terminal in his hand to the ground.

Apparently not satisfied with that, he furiously shoved everything on the table to the ground as well.

Rong Yuan panted heavily, staring intently at the mess, but only feeling cold inside. The bone chilling cold almost made him freeze in place.

For so many years, I have been waiting, waiting for you to admit your mistakes to me… As long as you were willing to admit your mistakes, I could forgive you. I would even stop investigating the things from the past.

As a result, this is the answer you give me?

Years ago, you used me to deal with others… Now, you use others to deal with me… You really never change.

You liar.

And that Bai Mo… what did you give him, what did you promise him, to make him so devoted?

In order to achieve your own goals, are you really willing to do anything and sell anyone?

“They… are very close.” Liang’s words seemed to echo in his ears.

Rong Yuan didn’t want to think about it any longer. He closed his eyes and tried his best to suppress the almost boiling jealous hate and murderous intent in his heart.

I once promised to let you go to Earth and never bother you again… But, if you come back to my door recklessly, I will never let you go, nor will I commit the mistake of being soft on you again and again.

I will kill those around you, I will break your limbs, I will make you beg for your life not allowing you to die and I will make you regret it… make you regret using me, regret deceiving me, regret provoking me.

Older sister Ling, however pretty sure it’s not meant to convey any family relation. While I do prefer to translate when possible, in these cases when it may get confusing I’ve decided to keep the form of address in pinyin.
