Fu Yucheng looked into the distance at a huge, transparent pale blue tunnel quietly suspended in the air, like a crystalline water dragon.

He blinked. “Is that transparent tunnel the floating track leading to the Ecoregions?”

Bai Mo nodded. “Yeah. This is the only way to get from the Industrial Regions to the Ecoregions. It’s very strictly monitored.”

He pondered for a moment, then reached out with his hand and slightly pulled down the brim of the other man’s hat. “The only option I have to take you with me is to say that sort of thing now so… don’t get angry.”

Fu Yucheng felt amused. “Do you think I am that petty?”

Bai Mo looked at him and, involuntarily, a corner of his mouth went up. “Of course not.”

After planning together for a while, Bai Mo put on a cold expression and walked to the tunnel, Fu Yucheng following his lead.

The entrance of the floating track was guarded by two rows of guards with live ammunition.

The black infrasonic guns in their hands shone with a cold light. Fu Yucheng had had a taste of those infrasonic guns more than once, and they weren’t good memories.

Bai Mo took out his metal ID card and waved it in front of the reader.

“Beep–” A crisp sound came from the card reader, and the captain of the guard glanced at the information displayed on the screen, his eyes widening in an instant.

He immediately stood up, clicked his heels together and gave a standard formal salute. “Bai- Mr. Bai!”

Bai Mo, with a cold expression on his face, nodded slightly, and, without even looking at the guard directly, he started walking into the tunnel with Fu Yucheng.

The captain of the guard hesitated, but he still did not dare to neglect his duty, so he stepped forward, bit the bullet and stopped the two of them. “Mr. Bai, who is the gentleman behind you?”

Bai Mo glanced at the other coldly. “He’s my man.”

The captain of the guard said, “Then… his ID card?”

Bai Mo frowned deeply. “He’s just a nobody that I picked up in the Winter Jasmine Alley. I want to bring him back to the Ecoregion to keep him there… what sort of ID card would I need for someone like this?”

The captain of the guard was taken aback momentarily, and couldn’t help but glance at Fu Yucheng.

Naturally, he knew that the ‘Winter Jasmine Alley’ wasn’t a reputable place… but the legendary White Knight was always known for his indifference and ruthlessness.

He naturally knows that “Winter Jasmine Alley” is not a serious place… However, the legendary white knight has always been known for his indifference and ruthlessness. Since when had such a knight stopped abstaining from men and women?

Fu Yucheng, after being stared at by the captain of the guard for a long time, turned his head and gave him a small smile.

Unlike his usual cynical smile, this smile seemed very professional—professional in a specific industry.

He deliberately lowered his eyelids, showing a bit of his dark green and black eyes. Looking at the other from the corner of his eye, a slight smile on his pouty lips… he looked flattering, coquettish, seductive, and a touch pitiable.

In short, it was not a chaste smile.

Upon receiving this shameless smile, the captain of the guard seemed to have frozen in place. He stared at Fu Yucheng blankly, stammering out, “Oh, um…” for what seemed like forever without saying a word.

Bai Mo almost wanted to gouge out the guard’s eyeballs.

Fu Yucheng pursed his lips, looked at Bai Mo timidly, and asked softly, “Mr. Bai, didn’t you say that you would take me to the Ecoregions to enjoy a happy life? Don’t- don’t leave me… please… “1

His voice trembled helplessly when he said the last few words, and it almost sounded like he was crying.

Bai Mo glared at Fu Yucheng incredulously, feeling his scalp tingling as if he had been zapped in the back, his mood indescribable.

If Bai Mo knew 21st century internet slang, he’d probably know that Fu Yucheng’s acting would be called a cheap melodrama.2

This man, this man is capable of anything!

…Does he have no shame?!

Seeing Bai Mo staring at him in shock, Fu Yucheng thought to himself that this was no good. The kid was still a bit too soft and his acting wasn’t good enough. He couldn’t let anyone notice those flaws.

He hurriedly reached out, grabbed Bai Mo’s hand, and touched the other’s palm with his fingertips, tapping against it for a while in long and short intervals—it was a very simple message in the ancient Morse code: GO AHEAD.3

But Bai Mo just stared at him, not realizing that it was a Morse code message. He only felt the other gently scratch at his palm with two slender fingers.

The cold White Knight’s ears turned pink for a minute, and his whole body went stiff.

At that time, the captain of the guard finally recovered.

He glanced at the blank expression on Bai Mo’s face and couldn’t help but sigh secretly—so this icy, indifferent top controller does have many emotions and desires, after all.

However, it was understandable.

Moreover, having seen him now look like he’s lost his soul, how could it all be fake? I’m really too distrustful.

The captain of the guard shook his head and waved to let them pass. “Mr. Bai, please come this way.”

Fu Yucheng was overjoyed and quickly pinched Bai Mo’s palm. Bai Mo suddenly recovered and hurriedly pulled Fu Yucheng close, and the two entered the suspended car inside the transparent pipe holding each other.

The monitoring of the transport from the Industrial Regions to the Ecoregions was very strict. There were four guards standing in a row even inside the suspended vehicle they got into.

For some reason, Bai Mo was secretly a little happy—since someone was present, they had to keep pretending.

It took more than five hours to complete the route. In addition, the last two days had been very exhausting. Fu Yucheng felt a little tired, but he couldn’t forget his ‘identity’, so he whispered, “Mr. Bai, can I sleep for a bit?”

Bai Mo pursed his lips, hesitated a little, and then boldly pulled the man over, letting him lie down on his lap. “Go to sleep.”

Fu Yucheng had originally wanted to sleep leaning against the back of his seat for a while. However, at that moment, with his ‘identity’ and under the gaze of the four pairs of eyes of the four guards, he naturally could not raise any objections. Gently and obediently, he leaned into Bai Mo’s arms.

Feeling the soft, warm body lying compliant in his arms, Bai Mo’s heart beat almost like a drum, and he subconsciously tightened his hold.

For the first time, the other did not push him away nor helplessly allowed him to get his way. Instead, he turned slightly, leaned back lazily like a cat, found a comfortable position, and stayed in character very professionally all the way through.

Bai Mo lowered his gaze and watched the dark eyelashes trembling slightly. For a moment, he couldn’t resist the impulse to move his head down and gently touch the dense, long eyelashes with his lips.

This kid… Fu Yucheng was a little speechless, but he couldn’t do anything about it. He had to struggle a little, saying in a quiet voice, “Mr. Bai, don’t be like this, there’s people around.”

Damn, what fucking tone was that? Even he himself couldn’t help getting goosebumps all over his back.

But Fu Yucheng had always been a ruthless person. In order to achieve his goals, he could serve soft and hard, make holes in chicken coops, endure torture, and even hide in the desert for several years. This little bit of embarrassment at that moment was nothing.

Bai Mo lowered his eyes and looked at the other, listening to him softly say, ‘There’s people around’. His heart swayed a little, and he asked on impulse, “And if there was no one?”

Fu Yucheng glared at him, feeling extremely complicated.

Just a moment ago I spoke too poorly of this kid’s poor acting… what’s going on now? This is Oscar worthy!

——”What if there was no one?” What the hell does he want?!

Or perhaps… he’s not acting? Is he doing it on purpose…?

The four guards glanced at each other, and they all saw their own feelings reflected in each other’ eyes—these two were showing off so much that they were going to make them all go blind.

They were too embarrassed to keep watching, and could only look at the tunnel as they passed it by with the car.

Bai Mo received a glare from Fu Yucheng and sobered up a little. He held the other normally and didn’t do anything weird, except for the fact that his earlobes were still slightly red.

The car finally calmed down and Fu Yucheng closed his eyes and fell asleep for some time. His many years of upheaval had made him develop a powerful skill: no matter what he ran into and what situation he was in, he was able to fall asleep immediately and with no issue.

He didn’t notice the levitating car gradually slowing down.

Bai Mo looked at the sleeping man in his arms, then picked him up in a princess carry and walked out of the floating car.

Fu Yucheng was tall and slender, and Bai Mo would have struggled to carry him when he was young. However, now it was easy for him to carry the man.

It felt unexpectedly good.

At the exit, he was greeted by the captain of the guard. Just as he was about to say something, Bai Mo had already made a gesture with his lips, going ‘Hush’.

The captain of the guard looked at the two of them suspiciously. Bai Mo didn’t have any free hands, and he motioned for him to take out his ID card from his pocket.

The captain of the guard looked down at the ID card, and immediately gave Bai Mo a formal salute.

The captain of the guard was very sensible and flexible. He looked at Fu Yucheng, who was sleeping in Bai Mo’s arms, and probably guessed that the handsome man was most likely a ‘toy’ that the White Knight had brought back from the Industrial regions. He hesitated for a moment and then he simply kept quiet without asking any more questions.

It was not until they were on the self driving suspended vehicle outside that Fu Yucheng opened his eyes and sighed. “This is more tiring than tunneling through a chicken coop… even more tiring than playing with Mei Nianxue.”

""

He propped himself up as he muttered, sitting up from Bai Mo’s arms, and he looked out the window. “Finally here… in this cursed Ecoregion.”

Bai Mo’s arms felt empty and he could not help but gently pout, feeling very disappointed down below.

Unlike the rough and tough Industrial regions, the Ecoregions completely imitated the original ecology of the Earth.

In the blue and clear sky, big white clouds like cotton wool drifted slowly and, from time to time, a few suspended vehicles would whizz by on the wide silver metal road. There were ample, soft green lawns on both sides of the road, and further away there were large ginkgo groves and lakes, concealing scattered little villas.

It wasn’t possible to see any factories nor pollution, there was no noise, and it was as peaceful and quiet as a paradise on Earth.

Soon, the automated suspended vehicle slowed down and came to a halt in front of a small, white two-story house.

Fu Yucheng couldn’t wait to jump out of the floating car. He stretched his arms and looked at the white house in front of him. “Little Mo, is this your house?”

Bai Mo nodded. “Yeah, it was assigned to me… but I rarely come back to live here.”

“It looks nice.” Fu Yucheng raised his eyebrows.

The two walked into the house while chatting.

There was a spacious living room and an open kitchen dining room on the first floor and, on the second floor, there were four rooms. On one side there was the master bedroom and a guest bedroom, on the other there was a study and a gym, and a large terrace connecting the two bedrooms.

Fu Yucheng looked around and threw his luggage into the guest room.

Bai Mo was a little disappointed, but he didn’t say much about it.

He walked forward and helped Fu Yucheng hang a few pieces of clothing inside the dressing room, then he took out a fluffy bedding and put it on the bed. “Yu-ge, would you like to take a shower first and get some rest? I’ll take you out for dinner later.”

Fu Yucheng was looking around and, before he could answer anything, a quiet buzzing noise came from the terrace.

The two looked up and saw an exquisite drone slowly landing on the terrace outside.

“Looks like you got a letter.” Fu Yucheng stepped onto the terrace and picked up a letter from the drone.

The milky white envelope was extremely delicate, and the delicate paper had a large rose watermark, emitting a faint floral fragrance, and the seal was a rose-shaped wax seal.

Fu Yucheng handed the letter to Bai Mo. “A letter from the White Rose Palace.”

Bai Mo nodded, and tore open the envelope.

He took out a card from the envelope, gave it a fast glance, and handed it to Fu Yucheng. “Yu-ge, look.”

Fu Yucheng took a look and couldn’t help but raise his eyebrow. “An invitation for the Sky Lantern Festival Masquerade? These Imperial family members are really fucking idle, they have nothing better to do.”

Author’s note:

Well, the melodrama is coming soon…

Speaking of Little Mo and Prince Rong, if Little Mo learns of Chengcheng being with someone else, he will immediately jump and steal him away. However, Prince Rong can temporarily bear with it, hide his emotions, and then make a move, tut.
