The Fallen Consort

As soon as Jin Minzhe was able to solve the Formation, he instantly went looking for his mother. He didn't even bother looking for his father, time was at the essence.

He found his mother slump down near a creek. The little girl was sitting besides her quietly. Sensing the someone's arrival, Qianru looked up.

"What happened to mother?" Minzhe was nervous, he didn't noticed that his hand was sweaty. Ever since his mother left the sect, it took him 3 hours to solve the Formation. His mind was fearing that he won't be able to see his mother again. He could feel that it was different this time.

He was frantic and almost went ballistic. The disciples were puzzled but was told by Elder Tefei, not to be bothered.

Seeing his mother at her current state, he didn't exactly know what to do. Just that, he didn't want to lose her.

Qianru sighed and didn't bother explaining to the newcomer. Her Master was already awake, just that. She seems frozen and unable to react. Her head was down, as she hugged her knees. Her master only said thanks and was silent after that.

With a whisk of his sleeves, Minzhe transformed into his kid version. He walked closer to his mother's side and slightly tugged her sleeve. "Mother?"

Hearing Minzhe's voice, Yi Ling woke up from her thoughts. It had been more than an hour, since she woke up from that scenario that Qianru sent her to. She knew now some of the truth behind her past. At least, some of it.

Meiling had decided to kill herself. Although it would seems like Muxin killed her, it wasn't on his own volition. Perhaps, only Meiling and Muxin know of this. Did Muxin blamed himself? Is that why he said he killed Meiling?Why did Muxin killed her family? What world were they talking about? And who was the king that wanted them both dead? And the woman that Muxin loved?

Yi Ling still couldn't believe that she had 6 wings! Six! How amazing would it be to be able to fly? Though above Emergent can able one to float, it was still different from flying. High as the Sky can take you.

There was so much unanswered questions in her head. At the moment, she was drown with sorrow and pain. Until, she heard Minzhe's voice. She never once doubted about Minzhe's capabilities on formation. She knew it wasn't going to take him long.

Yi Ling raised her head up and looked at the two kids in front of her. Minzhe looked about 5, While Qianru was about 10 or so.

"Mother?" Minzhe gulped. He could see that his mother was crying, he felt terrible for seeing it. Yet he knew that he couldn't do anything about it.

Yi Ling looked at Minzhe again, Wondering what to do with her life. Learning about all of this, made her felt tired. She only wanted to have a normal life. Live with her family and grow old together. Now that she have learned some truth, she didn't feel enthusiastic anymore.

It seems like the path that she need to tread, will become a hard one. Aside from finding her mother and avenging her village, she didn't know what to do with everything else.

Yi Ling sighed,. "Sorry for leaving you like that.. son.." She patted his head, ever so gently.

Minzhe's eyes went wide and his mouth opened. He had never heard his mother call him son before. Is she finally acknowledging me?

"Mother? are you really acknowledging me as your son now?" Minzhe's voice was shaky. If there is anything else that he wanted on this world, it was his mother's recognition.

"Yes son. Mother will never leave you again." Yi Ling pulled Minzhe to her embrace. She was determined to know what happened on her second life, she needed Minzhe to complete this puzzle.

"Mother!" Minzhe silently cried and hugged his mother. He had been missing his mother for so long. Finally being recognized, he couldn't hide his emotions anymore.

Yi Ling patted his back and with her other hand, gestured Qianru to come closer. Without her, Yi Ling wouldn't have ever known the truth.

Qianru walked closer to her master. As Qianru was within Yi Ling's arm reach, She too was pulled into Yi Ling's embrace. Yi Ling felt grateful to have this two with her right now. It felt good knowing that she wasn't alone.

Qianru hugged her Master as well, tears flowed down on her cheeks. She had missed her Master so much. Qianru had suffered a lot when she was gone. But it didn't compare to the pain of losing her Master.

Silently, an hour passed. The three were cuddling beneath the tree, when Yi Ling let them go.

"It's getting late, let's go." Yi Ling stood up and held both of their hands on either side of her. The direction they were heading were down the Xiang Kingdom.

"Mother? we aren't going back to the sect?" Minzhe asked.

"No". Yi Ling pursed her lips.

"But father? he will worry." Minzhe had a wild guess that something happened to the both of them. It happened when this new little girl, showed up. He was smart enough, not to ask. Afraid that he will get left behind, if he did.

Yi Ling stopped, but she only looked far ahead of her. "Right now, I can't face your father. Don't worry, I'm not mad anymore. I just need time to organize my thoughts. If you want to stay, you can go back to the sect."

"No! I will stay with mother. I don't want to go back!" Minzhe held his mother's hand tightly. Seeing their interaction, Qianru bit her lips. It seems like King Jin actually had a kid with her Master. What to do? she thought. She didn't like the thought of having her Master's murderer as her Master's lover.

"En. Let's go then." Yi Ling continued to walk towards Xiang Kingdom. Never looking back.
