The Fallen Consort

"The Divine Huntress?" Yi Ling asked.

She was currently inside the Ring with Muxin and Qianru. Minzhe had already left for heaven, Haoran was busy studying while Linyu was handling the Sect with Tefei.

As soon as they started, Qianru had told her that she was once called the Divine Huntress.

"Why is Meiling called like that?" Yi Ling looked at Muxin. If there was anything who knew better, it would be this man.

Looking at her staring at him, Muxin chuckled. "Ling'er, you were the most beautiful, elegant and talented in Archery. Since you held the rarest and the most powerful bow in history, the master should be notable as well. As you showed your talent across Huaxia, everyone had given you this name as such."

Listening to Muxin's explanation, Yi Ling smiled. He had never called her Meiling or Hualing, so his endearment for her had never changed. Luckily, her name always had a 'ling' at the end.

"That's right Master! It can be said that every archer in Huaxia and Heaven admires you! When Master and I fought in the war before, no one could stop us! We killed our way into the enemies bases!" Qianru was enthusiastic. Remembering the old days, she felt excitement in her heart.

Muxin nodded, those days were bloody and chaotic. Even so, he felt calm. Knowing that no one can defeat his beloved. He brandishes his divine sword next to her, protecting her and watching her back.

Yi Ling felt nothing like a divine huntress. Her mouth twitched, she had no memories of any sort. "Let's start then."

"Yes, Master." Qianru cupped her fist and bowed. She stepped back and then perform some hand seals.

A gushing wind encircled Qianru, Engulfing her with dust and wind. Like a small tornado.

It has been a long while since her Master had used the Bow. Although she was a spirit of the bow, the bow was still magnificent and strong without her.

BANG!!!

Yi Ling could feel her blood boiling at the sight. Her feet move closer to it on its own volition. As she was only a step away, her hand reached on it.

"Divine Harmony Bow". She could feel a sort of harmony within her. Her juggled mind find it's peace and serenity. No wonder it was called as such. It made one feel at peace.

"Did you upgraded it?" She turned towards Muxin.

"En, do you like it?" He did upgrade it. Although he was only a part of his body's memories, he was still a Deity. Procuring the items needed to upgrade the bow out of thin air was nothing to his eyes, just that, his powers would lessen. This, he didn't mentioned to her.

Her eyes landed on the bow in her hands. "Yes, I do. Thank you Xin'er." Yi Ling smiled. She felt a warm sensation as she held the bow. Familiarity and being at peace, she felt that she was finally on the right track.

Seeing her satisfaction, Muxin felt that all his sacrifices were worth it. "Now, go on and try it." He waved his sleeves and 10 arrows floated in the air next to Yi Ling. The arrows match the intricate designs on the bow. Like a mother to its children. In front of her, there were also targets that she could use to practice with. One was 20 paces away, another at 40, 60, 80 and 100 paces.

She calmed herself down as she held the bow in position. Grabbing one arrow and placing it on the bow, a thrilling sensation crawl up to her fingers to her arms.

"Relax. Feel the breeze and know where the wind is going. Focus on your target, hold the bow firm and your resilience. Don't hesitate to shoot when you see your target." Muxin walked behind her, holding her waist in place.

Yi Ling let out a lump of air. She pulled the string in action while staring at her target. This was her first time to use a bow, but her body seems to know what to do.

THUD !!!

A loud noise could be heard as the arrow landed on its target. Muxin smiled as he magically pulled the target in front of her. "Excellent. You are still deserving to call as the Divine Huntress."

Yi Ling hit the bullseye. She couldn't believe it. On her first try, she hit the bullseye. She even felt how strong and firm that arrow was as it flew to its target. "I hit it." Is all she could say.

Muxin hugged her waist, leaning his head into her shoulder. "As expected with my wife. You are the best." He kissed her cheeks as he said this. He was proud of her. He could see that she couldn't believe what just happened.

"Xin'er, I... " Yi Ling's emotions were surging up again. Somehow, she could feel Meiling's emotions coming out.

"Shhh..." Muxin turned her around and brushed the some of her hair out of her face. "Now, try the 40. I'll be here to guide you until you reach your peak again."

Yi Ling was thankful to have Muxin by her side. She knew that she owed a lot to Muxin. Not only on this life but also from her two previous lives.

The whole day, Yi Ling focused on training her self to get acquainted with the Divine Harmony Bow. Unlike her first try, she was getting more and more used to it. It was as if the bow was her extended hand. Piercing her target as she goes.
