The Fallen Consort

Chapter 179 - Two-Faced Coin (4)

When the two reach the front door leading to the study room, Minzhe excuse himself. He felt that it wasn't his right to be there during their confrontation. Especially that the two might have secrets that they need to talk about, he might get kick out still by his father. Leaving now would end up the same thing.

As King Jin opened the door without even announcing himself. If the person inside was a part of himself, they would be able to have a consensus about how to go through this motion.

The first thing that he noticed inside the room was countless of pictures. The room was empty but there was a side room and he could feel that someone was there. There were books around the corner of the study but the paintings were more abundant. Instead of going to see that person, he decided to look at the paintings. There were pictures of a girl, from a kid to her youth. He recognized his own unique technique when he painted, so there was no doubt that these paintings were done by him and yet not him. Aside from him, no one could copy his artworks. This only confirms that his wife was telling the truth.

At the very center of the study room lies a painting. The paper was old but it was protected by an array, this helps to keep the painting last longer. He could tell that it was painted a long long time ago. But was astonished him was not how long ago the painting was nor this kind of strong array. It was the painting itself, it was a painting of a woman on her peak. It had the same face as his wife and yet her demeanor or how she dressed up was different. The face was familiar and yet it wasn't. If he didn't know about the identity of his wife, then he wouldn't be able to recognize this woman. Just that, his heart was aching as he saw this painting. It was full of guilt, longing, and love. No doubt, it was Meiling. The same painting that triggered Yi Ling's seal.

As he stared at it, the side room opened. King Jin noticed it and looked towards the door. What he saw made him froze. It was his old self before he was tainted. The difference was, his old self seems weak. Hair was white instead of silver, grey eyes instead of blue and his aura were weakening.

Muxin heard the study room opened earlier but decided not to come out yet. Letting his real body take in all this information before showing himself. The two needed to talk and like what his son had thought, some things were beyond anybody's control. Secrets containing troublesome deeds that needed to be planned on.

As he saw his real body froze at the center of the study room, a gush of aura clashed. As if light and darkness were fighting each other with an invisible force.

There was silence in the air until King Jin opened his lips. "So it's true. The reason I lost my memories is that it was taken away from me. Tell me, how did it happen?"

Muxin sighed and walked towards the table to sit down. He poured both of them some Spiritual tea before answering. "Meiling's works. Although it was said as a punishment, in a way, it also wasn't. Just as how she killed herself to give us time."

King Jin brows furrowed. He sat down and accepted the tea. "Tell me everything."

Muxin's grey eyes stared at his real body's purple eyes. There was one person and yet both don't have their original looks. Their original body has silver hair and blue eyes. Muxin and King Jin had neither.

"Then I'll tell you the missing pieces from your memories. The Vengeful Aura that has silently taken over our body has gotten stronger without our knowledge. Although we are strong, we had been swallowed by grief when we lost her. For this, we neglected this fact. Even if we did notice it, he brushed it off. Thinking that life wasn't worth living without her." After saying it, Muxin looked up to the painting of Meiling. King Jin followed suit.

"But when we met her reincarnation in Yang Hualing's body, we decided to take care of her. Yet at the same time, keep a distance. Afraid that we will trigger her lost memories since she decided not to remember them.

Even with all these planning, she was persistent. In the end, she still falls in love with us. Even though she no longer has any memories, her heart could still recognize the person it wants. At first, we did everything to keep her at an arm's length. Alas, she was a stubborn woman. Although her personality was a little different from her original body, her stubbornness was still strong. She was able to conquer our heart again and we succumbed to her. We happily got married but things weren't good after that. We are immortal but she isn't. The only way that those people under us to become immortal is through giving a drop of blood from us. But by giving blood, they would have to follow our orders as their master and we didn't want her to be our servant.

With her life diminishing slowly, We tried everything in our powers to look up a way to make her breakthrough her powers. Still, we knew that there was a chance that we will trigger her again. This was one of the things that we were hesitant on. During one of our travels, we thought that we've finally gotten a way to make her immortal without triggering her powers. Triggering her powers would only mean about her destruction. So we left to get this solution. Unfortunately, that same woman had gotten to her. She was pregnant with our son and wasn't due yet. She was about to die while we were too far away to save her. Luckily, her old Spiritual beast came to save her. When we returned, she wasn't there anymore. We thought that she died again or that they had taken her. We did everything to find her whereabouts.

It wasn't until she was due when her Spiritual beast came for help. Relief washed upon us but at the same time, we dread that we will lose her again.

She held on pretty long with the help of the Eternal Oak which where we are now. It was in this place that they kept her body. The tree was able to keep her alive, along with her will to save her child. Still, it wasn't enough to bring her back. She had suffered a devasting injury and her powers were triggered again. To save her, We did everything we could. But she didn't want to be saved, she only wanted her child to be alive. It was either her or our child. She chose him instead. But before died, Meiling released her hatred and cast a punishment for us.

This curse was to remove the memories of her second life from us. But instead of taking these memories away forever, she kept it here so that our child has a father to look upon on. She split our soul apart and so this is what happened.

Although it might seem like a punishment indeed at first, I didn't realize it until the moment that she had split us. The Vengeful Aura inside us was getting stronger. As I've said, we didn't think about it since we were busy. She noticed it and so she saved us. By splitting us apart, it gave us time to find a way to resolve it. When the process was done, she was already dead 3 days ago. The process took a long time and so I wasn't able to properly talk to her.

While I lay wasted here to keep our son and to guide him, you ended up in more grief inside your palace. I know I shouldn't blame you for not doing anything, but still, I couldn't help but hate you. I knew of everything while you knew nothing. Still, it wasn't the time for me to act and tell you of these."

After his long explanation, he couldn't help but smile when King Jin was glaring at him.
