Chapter 129: A Clean Sweep

Xing Mo seized the moment the enemy revealed an opening to launch an attack. The man hurriedly blocked, but in doing so he was no longer able to pay attention to what was going on under his feet. Gu SiYan was able to take use the opportunity to again tie his ankles with the blades of grass he caused to shoot forth, which caused him to lose his balance.

Xing Mo took advantage of the situation and threw a punch. The man was unable to avoid the blow, and the fist that had been completely covered by metal hit his abdomen hard.

The man immediately fell to the ground, clutched his abdomen, and began to continuously retch.

“Don’t move.” Seeing that the target had temporarily lost combat effectiveness, Gu SiYan ran over quickly, stepped on his chest, and held his energy gun to the man’s temple, “Who sent you here?! What’s your purpose?!”

A fierce look gleamed in the man’s eyes, and with a move of his right hand a sharp blade flew out once more and flew straight towards Gu Siyan’s neck.

Fortunately, Xing Mo had been paying attention to the man’s every move and blocked his sneak attack for Gu SiYan.

“Despicable villain!” Gu SiYan was also enraged by him. He shifted his aim and pulled the trigger, which caused the energy beam to penetrate the man’s palm.

“Ah!” the man wailed as he covered his wound tightly.

Xing Mo arbitrarily took out a piece of cloth from his space button and roughly bandaged the wound. After putting their captive in electromagnetic shackles, they went ahead and searched the man. Sure enough, they found a small communicator and a strong signal jammer on his body. It seemed that this man was the one who had been interfering with their light brain’s ability to communicate.

The interference range of an ordinary jammer was 50 kilometers. This jammer though had been artificially modified and upgraded, and the interference range was larger. These peoples’ preparation had been nothing to scoff at.

Xing Mo immediately turned off the jammer, after which his and Gu SiYan’s brains began to ring one after another.

All the previous team members had sent unsuccessful messages after being attacked.

Xing Mo hurriedly contacted the team members and asked everyone about their situations. As a result, in addition to the two team members who were killed by the tiger beastkin there were a further six people who had also lost contact.

Loss of contact at this time was far more likely to be a bad sign than a good one.

“Captain! We caught one!” An excited voice came from Xing Mo’s light brain.

Xing Mo immediately checked the locations of the communicators of the killers. The green dots on them that were originally moving fast, had now stopped, which indicated that they should have all been caught.

“Very good. There are two others who are fleeing. Their current coordinates are 249, 7377, and they are currently traveling in the northwest direction. Everyone will follow me to pursue!”

“Yes, Captain!”

Xing Mo judged that these people might have a starship nearby to support them, so both they and their starship had to be captured before they could be allowed to escape.

“Gu SiYan, escort this prisoner back to the patrol ship. I’ll chase down the rest of these people.”

“Yes…” Although Gu SiYan wanted to chase down those people along side Xing Mo, someone had to stay and watch the cunning assassin.

Xing Mo patted him on the shoulder and ran off again.

After Xing Mo left, Gu SiYan pulled the assassin up and forced him to walk in the direction where their patrol ship was stationed.

“Young Master Gu.” After Xing Mo left, the assassin actually spoke up.

“Who are you? Do you know me?” Gu SiYan showed a wary look.

“I’m one of Third Elder Master Gu’s men.” The killer smiled coldly, “Hurry up and take advantage of this chance to let me go while there’s still time, or else once that Xing Mo kid arrests us all, your Gu family won’t be able to have a good end!”

“No… Impossible…” Gu SiYan looked at him incredulously, “Why would third grandpa do this? You must be lying!”

“Weather I’m lying or not, you already know the answer in your heart.” The killer said solemnly, “Hurry up and let me go, or it will be too late!”

Gu SiYan remembered that when he and his teammates had fought against this person before, all of this person’s lethal moves were against his teammates, but he had held back every time the two of them had fought…

The expression on Gu SiYan’s face went through several changes from being confused, then hesitant, then unwilling, then resentful, until it eventually settled into a look of determination.

“I won’t let you go!”

“What?!” The killer obviously didn’t expect Gu SiYan to react like that, “Are you crazy? I’m Third Elder Master Gu’s person! You’re dragging the entire Gu family into the water by doing this!”

Gu SiYan smiled miserably, “If I let you go, then I’ll really be dragging the Gu’s family into the water! I’m definitely not going to cover for the Empire’s wanted criminals! In my opinion you should die!”

The killer was speechless, anxious, and angry, but seeing Gu SiYan’s resolute attitude, he had no options.

Behind a tree not far away, Xing Mo’s figure disappeared in a flash.

***********

In the end, under the full siege of everyone, the two fish that had slipped through the net were ultimately unable to escape. They did find that the assassins had a small starship lying in wait to support them. Although it tried to escape when the people onboard realized the situation had turned bad, it was shot down by the patrol ship and the two minions on board were also captured.
