Chapter 92: Certification

Once their plans for the company had been put into motion, they had no other choice but to go through with them. As the chief energy engineer of their new energy company, Lin Luo certainly needed to obtain the corresponding certifications, so he applied online for the next energy engineer qualification assessment to be held by the Energy Administration.

There were tens of billions of people in the Empire, and ability users awakened every day, but the mental power ability users only occupied a small part of the empire. So that these newly awakened mental power ability users could obtain certifications as energy engineers as soon as possible, the Energy Administration conducted examinations for the certification of energy engineers every month. As for the energy engineer level assessment, they had to wait for an appropriate number of energy engineers to apply in order to set a unified exam time.

Soon after Lin Luo submitted the application for an energy engineer certification through StarNet, he received a confirmation reply from the Energy Administration. The timing of his registration wasn’t bad. There was a certification examination coming up in just five days that he would be able to participate in.

Lin Luo had become much more proficient in the control of his mental power than in the past. His mental power had become enough to support him after extracting two 100 milliliter vials of element liquid without his mental power being excessively consumed after extraction causing him to uncontrollably shift back into his beast form.

He would, however, occasionally still use up his mental power on purpose, as he had found that when he was in a state of complete power exhaustion his mental power not only recovered faster, but also increased slightly.

In the days before the exam Lin Luo stayed at home and practiced the extraction of element liquid and energy liquid. His mental power was relatively special, and it seemed to have a strong attraction to elemental energy, so it took almost no effort to condense it together. However, when it came to general energy which wasn’t as lively as elemental energy, it was slower to extract, though still much faster than the average person.

Therefore, Xing Mo and Yin Ye didn’t worry too much about whether or not Lin Luo would fail his certification exam. After all, if even he was unable to pass, the management of the Energy Administration would be completely out of their minds.

In the blink of an eye, five days went by.

Lin Luo went to the Energy Administration Bureau in Kipola by himself in a suspended vehicle. Xing Mo originally wanted to go with him, but Lin Luo knew that Xing Mo was very busy during this time and even if he went with him it wasn’t as if he could help much, so it would be better if he went alone. Xing Mo couldn’t beat his reasoning, so in the end he had to agree.

The construction of the Energy Administration Bureau was very grand, and the reception hall alone was a full 400 to 500 square meters.

Lin Luo arrived quite early, but by the time he got there he saw that there were already many people who had come to participate in the certification assessment standing around the reception hall of the Energy Administration.

Most of them were young people, though occasionally one or two older people could be seen.

“Would the gentleman who came in at the back please come over and register.” In the center of the reception hall was a row of information reception desks. The staff in silver-gray uniforms smiled and called out to Lin Luo, who had just entered the hall.

Lin Luo immediately walked over, reported his name and ID number, completed the pre-test registration, and got his number plate which was for number 233.

“Please head over to the waiting area and wait for your number to be called to enter the venue.”

“Okay, thank you.”

Lin Luo pinned the number plate to his chest, then walked aside, sat down on an open bench, and waited patiently.

“The certification assessment is now starting. Numbers one through twenty, please enter the assessment room on the right.”

The assessment had finally begun. It seemed as if people would be directed into the assessment in batches of twenty examinees at a time.

Ten minutes later, half of the first batch of people who had participated in the assessment walked out again in dejection, while the rest remained unseen. He speculated that it may have been the case that there were other assessments set directly as a follow-up to the first one.

A chubby blond boy sitting next to Lin Luo was so nervous that beads of sweat were gathering on his forehead. Lin Luo took out a tissue from his space button and handed it to him. He comforted him in a low voice, “Don’t be nervous, everything will be alright.”

“Thank, thank you.” The young man smiled shyly, took the offered tissue and wiped the sweat off his forehead, “You’re number 233? I’m number 234. It seems that we’re going to be in the same group of candidates.”

“Oh, what a coincidence.”

“Hello, my name is Gu Yu, what’s your name?” Although Gu Yu was a bit chubby, his facial features were very good, and his smile was very friendly.

Lin Luo had a good first impression of the little chubby boy, so he smiled and replied, “Hello, my name is Lin Luo.”

“Can I call you Xiao Luo? Is this the first time you’ve come to participate in the certification assessment for energy engineer?” Gu Yu seemed to have an outgoing personality, though it was possible that he took the initiative to talk to Lin Luo in order to relieve his nervousness.

“My brother is a junior energy engineer. He told me a bit about the assessment. Do you want to hear about it?”
