Chapter 1578: Huan And the Creature(4)

The Eerie Wolf let out a howl and pounced on Huan as soon as the bell rang.

The possessed Huan had anticipated the move, but he didn't move forward and let the beast pounce. When its maws were only a small distance away from biting his head off, he moved.

Raising his hands, he grabbed the beast by its head and then used the momentum from it to slam it onto the ground.

Crash!

A loud sound rang as a small pit appeared, but the beast seemed to have received no signs of internal or external injury. The possessed Huan raised his eyes in surprise since he had underestimated the beast's toughness.

He still had control over the beast, so he used more strength and further pushed it down.

Crack!

A cracking sound rang in the area, and a cold smile appeared on the possessed Huan's face. But the smile suddenly froze as the source of the cracking sound revealed itself.

The next moment, the scene before Huan changed. He was no longer pushing the beast into the ground but forcing his hand to break down, while the Eerie Wolf was standing some distance away from him, staring at the scene.

'Did I fall into an illusion?' Huan couldn't help but think. But the next moment, he shook his head since that wasn't possible.

The possessed Huan suddenly exclaimed and then further pushed his hand to the ground, ignoring the crack in his bones and the pain.

Cry!

Not long after, a whimpering sound rang in the area. Following that, the scene changed once again. He was no longer pushing his hand, but it was the beast that was slowly losing consciousness from the pain.

The Eerie Wolf understood that its plan to force the stranger to let go of its head had failed. It could feel the vast power gap between the two sides despite the same level of cultivation.

It knew the battle wouldn't last long, so it had to do something quickly. Unfortunately, its brain seemed to have hit, so its cognition started slowing down. Not being able to think of any way to win against the stranger, it decided to go all in.

"I am sorry!"

"I am sorry!"

"I am sorry!"

"I am sorry!"

"I am sorry!"

He started repeating the same thing, looking at his wife, who no longer had any life left in her.

Above Huan, there was a silhouette of a creature whose true form couldn't be clearly made up. It looked at the scene with a conflicted expression since it and Huan were the same.

Huan needed a tragic stimulus to wake up his soul, but the price he paid for it was too much. Huan still believed that the creature was someone else who saved him, taking mercy on him. The creature didn't dare imagine what would happen when Huan finally knew the truth. Would he go crazy and kill himself; only time could tell.

The creature then turned to his left and saw the whimpering Eerie Wolf. It thanked the beast since the illusion unleashed by the Nightmarish World could somewhat reduce the trauma carried by Huan.

After some time, Huan finally stopped crying and apologizing. His eyes turned gentle as he walked to his wife and then knelt before her.

He then stood up and thanked the creature. He knew the possessed Huan could easily break through the illusion, but it didn't do it because of him.
