Chapter 724: Improvement
The Gupta family was the head of the Guhyakas for being the top merchant family in the race.
The Guhyakas had no talent in combat, but their talent in business was second to none.
If not for the Guhyakas being a latecomer into the business and all other top merchant families being billions of years older, the Gupta family would have at least been in the top three business families.
The Guhyakas also had a very low lifespan, so the extreme talent in their race couldn’t help them much.
The Guhyakas was a race that could never reach Immortality. In fact, the highest level cultivator in their midst was only Soul Formation, and even then, the being could only live for a hundred years. The average lifespan of the Guhyakas was a measly thirty-four years when there were billions, if not trillions, of Immortals in the Primal dimension.
It was also the reason behind people not believing that Guhyakas was the creation of a Primordial. But the death after harming or killing any Guhyaka proved the theory.
Aakesh knew why Kubera actively took care of Guhyakas. Kubera’s son’s name was Guhyaka, who unfortunately died in battle due to Kubera’s wealth.
In grief, Kubera created a race that looked similar to his son. Unfortunately, his despair was such that he failed in the end and was left with Guhyakas, who didn’t have long lives.
Since it was his fault for creating a race with no ability to fight, defend, or live long, Kubera sent them to the Primal dimension and started taking care of the members.
The Gupta family descended from the first artificial Guhyaka, so they had the most talent when it came to business.
Only in the thousand years of their existence the Gupta family had become one of the leading merchant families in the Primal dimension. Now, after six hundred thousand years, they had become one of the top twenty business families.
Aakesh remembered the history of the Guhyakas as he reached their headquarters.
In front of Aakesh stood a skyscraper with a height of thirty thousand meters, while the area it spanned over reached a whooping five million square km.
The skyscraper was equivalent to a world in itself, as Aakesh could see inside the building. Despite it being so large, the structure consisted of a space expansion array, making the insides even more gigantic than what it looked on the outside.
Since Aakesh had seen even bigger and grander buildings, so it didn’t make much of an impact on him.
Aakesh then took a step forward. Not long after, he reached the entrance gate of the building.
The entrance gate took over a height of three hundred meters, while a width of a similar distance. Despite the number of people entering the building in high numbers, it didn’t look crowded due to the large entrance door.
“State your purpose,” A cold voice rang in Aakesh’s ears as his turn arrived.
On both sides of the door, two peak Immortals with pseudo divinity stood there. Their weapons were ready to pounce at any time, as both the guards belonged to the warrior system.
Since Aakesh was only an intermediate Immortal currently, he could sense that he wouldn’t be able to fight for long if both the guards came at him at once.
Even though the Guhyakas had no Immortals in their midst, the wealth they had was enough to topple even an Empire on the Anga continent, so they had more than a few thousand Immortals that they had hired.
Not even a single Immortal in the Gupta family was below peak Immortal. The money they spent on protection was enormous, but it was all worth it when compared with the amount of trade they had.
Harming or killing any Guhyaka was equivalent to death, but the same consequence didn’t occur when it came to trade. The protection provided by Kubera to the Guhyakas had a loophole.
Only when directly attacking or harming Guhyaka Kubera would act. But stealing from them didn’t call such consequences. Even though Kubera was a Primordial, he wasn’t a Deva. Not everything he wanted would happen, so Kubera had to be content with it.
It was also the reason Aakesh had come here. Even though he didn’t know whether he would also die or not after harming the Guhyakas, Aakesh had no interest in trying that. He knew his limits. Even though his past felt mysterious enough to overshadow a Primordial, his present wasn’t. He was only the mightiest in the Primal dimension. It wouldn’t take even a moment of Kubera’s time to kill him.
If there were a battle, it would be with the Immortals hired by the Gupta family, so there would be no physical harm to Guhyakas from Aakesh. At the same time, proving his store to be superior to the product sold by the Guptas wasn’t a direct assault so Aakesh would be safe there as well.
There was also the point of Aakesh attacking any of the Guhyaka after they attacked him. Fortunately, Kubera couldn’t act after Guhyaka was the aggressor. He could only take action against anyone if the Guhyakas were the victim.
“I am here to meet the Gupta family,” Aakesh expressionlessly answered the guards.
The guard could see Aakesh’s cultivation, so he didn’t take Aakesh seriously.
“Let me check,” The guard coldly responded and then whispered something to the bracelet he had worn in his right hand.
“The family members are busy, you can leave,” The guard told Aakesh after letting him wait for a few seconds.
Aakesh’s eyes turned cold as he looked at the guard. It was true that Aakesh wouldn’t be able to win if both the guards fought him at once, but it didn’t mean Aakesh would take anything lying down.
Aakesh knew the device worn on the guard’s hands. It was one of the many types of communication devices sold by the Guptas.
The guard had whispered something to the bracelet, but he hadn’t activated it. So the communication was only to show Aakesh, but nothing happened in reality.
“I am here to meet the Gupta family,” Aakesh coldly repeated the same sentence.
The guard felt his heart skipping a beat when he looked into the stranger’s cold eyes. The guard understood that the man wasn’t someone to mess with, so this time, without any lies, the guard communicated, and not long after, Aakesh entered the building with Lily.
“Haha, this attitude of yours would kill you someday,” The guard standing on the other side couldn’t help but mock his friend after witnessing the scene.
The guard ignored his friend’s ridicule and instead calmed his pounding heart. Aakesh was unaware that a single glance of his had improved a corrupted guard.
