The Founder of Qi Cultivation, Reincarnates?
Chapter 231 229- Ears Suddenly Malfunctioning
“What did he say?”
Turning away from his jade slip in hand, Jun looked to Li Shen and replied.
“Master, senior disciple brother said he’ll meet us at the Celestial Academy’s valley entrance.”
Li Shen nodded before he continue to walk.
They were heading down the Sword Pavilion mountain to leave the Academy for their new mission.
The academy itself hadn’t changed much since Li Shen was here, and that was normal since the passage of time to cultivators isn’t the same as mortals. Three years was long to them, but to cultivators who could live for over a hundred years at the bare minimum, it was a small drop in the bucket.
However, even though the academy hadn’t changed, the disciples sure have.
As Li Shen took his time to walk through the Inner Academy, numerous disciples could weirdly be seen without a pair of shoes.
He also passed a few stands that had someone yelling what they were selling, and to what that is was even stranger.
“Custom-made statues of our number one sensation the Shoe-less Hero! Buy two and get a hand-drawn portrait supposedly painted by the Continent’s renowned Scare Crow!”
“Ladies come and get your jewelry! From necklace to bracelets that show your support for the academy’s Shoe-less Hero!!”
Li Shen had saw this before, many, many times over the years, but no matter what he still found it weird seeing it to this day.
These people had taken a simple story of him beating up a random arrogant brat in the Conclave Academy and created a whole new legend.
The stories of him weren’t even stories at this point but folklore about some ancient mythical being that had heaven-shaking and earth-shattering power.
A group had even formed in the academy to worship him and his so call miracles.
Well, at least now he knew where his Divine Aura came from. It was because of these people unknowingly worshiping him like a deity.
But the weird thing about this was that most of these people if not all of them, knew that these stories were completely ridiculous and weren’t even remotely true. But being a part of a collective group or community was a feeling that everyone would agree was a great experience, so they embraced the culture to its limits.
Though as weird as Li Shen found it, he was still greatly benefiting from it so he couldn't complain much.
His Divine Aura had been growing steadily during this time, plus, he always wondered if he ever revealed himself to be the mysterious Shoe-less Hero, would he become the leader of these people? The influence he would have then in the Inner and Outer Academy would be mind numbing large.
But he highly doubted it after further thinking. They were following a mysterious figure that was praised as a myth, once the image of that figure is revealed and a face was given to that myth, it would destroy the novelty they had in their minds and lead to mass disappointment.
They’ll lose any interest in the mysterious Shoe-less Hero they had.
While walking through this place that resembled more of a market street than an academy, Jun suddenly had something catch his eyes and he paused.
Rushing over to a stand he conversed with the stall owner and after taking out some spirit stones he bought something from the stand.
With an excited expression, he ran back over to the group while saying in an excited voice.
“Hey, look what I got!”
Hearing his words, they all turn to look at what he was referring to and saw him holding up a mesh sleeveless shift.
He was presenting its back that had an indistinguishable outline of a person holding what looked like a stick, no, a bamboo perhaps?
Li Shen gave Jun a weird look as he putting it on over his robes. However, Li Shen said nothing and instead opted to just continue walking.
It wasn’t like Jun and the others didn’t know he was the Shoe-less Hero, but Jun still went ahead and bought that shirt.
Soon they reached outside of the academy and Jun was now covered from head to toe in Shoe-less Hero merchandise. He had never bought one before, but it was like after that one something in him just said to get more.
He even had a small flag he would cheerfully wave around, almost resembling a little kid that just came back from the theme park.
The others all tried to ignore him as they approached Li Wen who was next to a flying Spirit Artifact in the shape of a boat.
Bowing with a cupped fist to Li Shen he Li Wen said.
“Greetings Young Master.”
“Hm.”
Li Shen nodded casually and went to board the boat, but he suddenly stop and turned to the sky to see someone flying through the air without support towards them.
The person turned out to be Yang Su who had changed into the faction's uniform, with the hat still covering his face.
After he landed Li Shen's eyes flicker with a thoughtful look, but only nodded at his greetings before he addressed everyone.
“Alright, since everyone’s here let’s head out immediately.”
He was the first to move onto the boat before everyone piled on. They floated into the air as Li Wen control the boat to head to their destination, but a whistling sound and a sonic boom suddenly echoed out over the horizon.
A lightning-fast streak of red light approached quickly stopped in front of their boat before it could take off.
As the crimson red flames retreated back to the flying sword the figure the of a young man was seen.
His presence held a feeling of grandiose, and hint of arrogance radiated from his between his eyebrows. Everyone couldn’t help but wonder who this person was.
With hands behind his back, robes and hair slowly flapping in the wind, the young man casually looked down at Li Shen’s group in the boat and asked.
“You’re from the Celestial Academy, right?”
The young man looked at their robes but couldn’t match the color scheme to the ones he read about.
Li Shen hearing this asked while flipping open his fan.
“We are, but might I ask who you are?”
Surprised, the young man turned his gaze from Li Wen to look at Li Shen with a frown.
He addressed Li Wen because he could discerner that he had the highest cultivation, but why was this lowly disciple he couldn’t sense any cultivation from speaking instead?
Without much thought in that, he said.
“I’m looking for the Second Prince of the Maple Continent. I heard he was studying in this Academy. Hurry and go tell him that the Young Master of the Cai Clan from the Maple Continent is here to see him.”
The young man’s chest puffed out as he said his status with emphasis as if it was something that would make others hurry to do his bidding.
However, Li Shen upon hearing his identity immediately rolled his eyes in annoyance and said dismissively.
“I’m not feeling it today bud, the Second Prince won’t be seeing you so it’s better if you go back to where you came from, ugh.”
Li Shen made a face before he motioned for Li Wen to resume flight.
The young man hearing those words was completely taken aback and wondered if his ears had suddenly malfunctioned.
Who the fuck was this random weakling to speak to someone of his status like that? Didn't he know people get killed for much simpler?
