It was a while before Li Shen and Li Wen reached the teleportation circle outside of the academy. As they teleported inside, Li Shen’s mood was still the same albeit with the dark aura around him suppressed by a bit.

He quickly moved, even using his physical speed to make his figure blur in and out of sight. Soon enough he reached inside the hall where Yang Su, Lihua, Fei Yin, Fang Chen, and Mu Fan were standing.

They were encircling Jun who look unconscious as he lay on his back.

His upper roes were removed, showcasing the bloody bandages that wrapped around his torso and right arm.

Everyone turned to Li Shen when he entered, mix emotions were on their faces.

Li Shen's eyes landed on Jun and his heart sank into the pit of his stomach.

His figure blurred for the last time and quickly appeared next to Jun’s side.

Li Shen placed his hand on Jun’s chest gently and sent his Divine Will into his body. What he saw caused his body to shake and caused burning anger to rise in his heart.

He barely managed to ask out loud.

“What happened?”

“Master, it’s my fault, I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to look after junior disciple brother like you had asked.”

Yang Su got on his knees and bowed with his head touching the ground.

His emotions was in turmoil, and guilt racked his heart nonstop.

Li Shen stared at Yang Su and coldly said.

“I don’t want to hear your excuses, I want to know how this happened.”

What Li Shen saw when he examined Jun’s condition was that his dantian was completely shattered, his meridians disfigured. Jun was tittering on the edge of death because of this.

Li Shen was angry, he was furious at this sudden situation and what this meant for Jun.

Fei Yin stepped forward in Yang Su’s defense and said.

“Faction Leader, it’s not entirely Yang Su’s fault. After we complete the mission, we assigned Jun to be one to report it back to the academy as usual. However, he took that opportunity to move in secret.”

“To tracked down that disciple from the Poison Demonic Sect and fight him alone.”

Mu Fan interjected as his gaze wandered to Jun. They were always bickering but seeing Jun struggle to breathe, the fear of never seeing him scowl at him or get angry at him was eating away at his conscious. If he died here, right now, it would make him lose it.

Jun was his friend, the closest of anyone in the group. Seeing him like this the killing intent for that disciple rose by the second and so did everyone else’s.

Hearing Mu Fan’s words, Li Shen turned to looked Jun. After a moment he said.

“Everyone, leave the room.”
Everyone heeded his words without question.

Yang Su was the last one to leave, and he looked at Li Shen’s cold back through the crack as he closed the door.

Now alone with Jun, the coldness around Li Shen faded, and sadness washed over him.

Sitting cross-legged next to him, Li Shen moved strands of Jun’s black hair from in front of his pale face.

He took this time to examine his feature.

Jun had grown a lot from when Li Shen had taken him in. If Jun died here it would be because of him.

As if Li Shen’s touch had woke him up, Jun’s eyes cracked open. Despite his vision swimming, he still recognized Li Shen's silhouette.

Regret overtook his heart, and he wanted to say something but he could hardly breathe much-less speak. He had to settle with staring at Li Shen through his blurry eyesight, hoping he could see that he was sorry for going against his orders in his heart.

Li Shen saw it, but he sighed.

“You're sorry for not listening to me now that this happened to you? Why didn’t you listen to me before this?”

Li Shen was upset with Jun for being so stubborn and doing something so stupid, but most of all he was upset with himself.

He should have realized sooner that Jun hadn’t let go of his resentment. Jun knew that Li Shen would have seen through his true emotions if he showed any, so he acted normal giving Li Shen no reason to use his ability on him.

He was Jun’s Master, he was as responsible for this outcome as anyone was. But he won’t let him die like this, he couldn’t.

With his meridians damaged and his dantian destroyed, the only way to save his life was if they were healed.

Li Shen could fix his meridians, but the problem was his dantian.

‘I could create a Dao Foundation for him to replace his dantian, however, it won’t work.’

Li Shen couldn't create something from nothing.

He was only able to create Yang Su’s own because he had a dantian which he molded into his Six Qi Element Dao Foundation. With Jun’s own shattered there was nothing to mold.

But maybe he didn’t have to mold a Dao Foundation from Heavenly Laws, similar to his and Yang Su’s own.

Suddenly, Jun’s breath slowed down even more with his heart barely beating.

He had long drifted back into unconsciousness.

Li Shen seeing this had no time to think of anything else.

With a plan in mind, he moved his Divine Will to gather up Jun’s shattered dantian as well as the remnant Righteous Qi in his meridians.

On the outside, Yang Su and the others were waiting around in suffocating silence. No one was in the mood to talk.

Suddenly, they all turned to see the door open and Li Shen walking out.

“Yang Su, go and keep watch of your junior brother, if his condition worsens take him to the Academy’s infirmary.”

Everyone hearing that let out sighs of relief.

Someone losing their dantian was a road to death. The only reason why Jun hadn’t died immediately was that his cultivation was relatively low.

If it was someone in a higher realm, they would have died minutes or even seconds after all the Qi in their dantian disperse.

Yang Su nodded before he went inside.

Mu Fan's legs felt weak and he dropped to his butt. The news was like a wave washing over his chaotic emotions, calming them down in the process.

However, his eyes flashed with murderous intent.

“What are we going to do now?”

He asked, and everyone turned to Li Shen who had on a neutral expression.

“What did the academy say about the town being massacred?”

Lihua responded.

“They said nothing, it’s like they’ve ignored the reports Jun made.”

“Since it was just a weak town with a small population that was murdered, they refuse to hold the Demonic Cult accountable, avoiding an all-out war.”

Fang Chen was the one who said that but Mu Fan suddenly turned to him and said.

“A small population? You call thousands of people being killed a small amount?”

Fang Chen turned to Mu Fan with a frown.

“What Fang Chen said might be hard to hear, but that’s how it is.”

Fei Yin quickly interjected.

“The number of people that die by the Demonic Cult's hands on the Continent each year is in the hundreds of thousands. They fear coming out in the open because of the Righteous Faction, but the Righteous Faction fears them as well by going too far hunting them, especially the top three Demonic Sects.”

Fei Yin was hinting at the fact that the scorpion sighted in the town made the Celestial Academy avoid looking further into the incident.

“You aren’t suggesting we do nothing are you?!”

Mu Fan shot up and angrily yelled.

A silent Li Shen immediately shot him a cold look and said.

“You or anyone here aren’t going to do anything. All of you are staying in the academy, cancel the daily missions.”

Li Shen then turned to leave, however, Mu Fan seeing this yelled.

“NO!!”

“Why are you going alone?! We’re coming too, how can we just sit back an-”

Mu Fan was suddenly cut off as Li Shen turned around and released a burst of aura that envelop a hundred meters in the courtyard.

All of them suddenly felt the gravity on their shoulders double while their legs bent as they struggle to stand up.
