The Fresh Start in an RPG World

Talia went back to her room and decided to take a nap before she went to go have some dinner. When she woke up, she found that it was dark outside. She went and showered and put on a light dress, and she made sure she looked decent.

When she went downstairs and sat down by the dinner area, she scanned the room and she couldn't find Winston. She wondered why she was looking for him? Or was her brain used to him being around?

"Looking for me?"

Talia Jumped and looked to the side and she found Winston standing there and smiling down at her.

"No, I was just wondering if someone was going to come and help me."

He looked a bit disappointed, "Well I guess your night and shining armor is here."

He had seemed to bounce back and he was smiling again.

"What?"

"I am waiting for your order mam."

Talia blushed, of course, that is why he was here. She cleared her throat, "I would like a long Island please."

"One long Island coming up." With that, he turned and left.

Talia watched the performances that were being displayed.

"Your drink."

"Thank you."

"Did you decide on which three-course meal you want to eat?" said Winston.

"Are you sure?"

Talia giggled when he left at the way he said it. She carried on sipping her drink it by bit until they came back with her starter. By the time it was dessert, she had drunk three drinks and she was trying to keep calm.

Talia clapped and laughed when people around her got up to dance.

"Would you like to dance?"

Talia looked up, "Aren't you supposed to be working?"

"I have finished my shift. Now may I have this dance."

Talia placed her hand in Winston's and he pulled her up. The music that was playing was lively and Winston knew how to dance, he twirled her around and dipped her. Talia felt exhilarated, laughter was bubbling out of her.

A slow song came on and they started slow dancing, Winston's hand went to her waist and she put her arms around his neck. They started to move slowly,

"You have a cute laugh, Talia. You should laugh more."

"Uh..thank you, I guess."

"This feels like a fairytale," Winston whispered in her ear.

Talia nodded, she really loved fairytales even though her life was far from it, she felt as if this moment was from a fairytale. She started to wonder if this was real? Was she really here? Dancing with him?


"It is real," said Winston.

"Huh?"

"This moment is real Talia." he drew her closer to him.

Talia nuzzled her head on his neck and she let the night take her away.

"Let's take a walk," Winston said.

"Okay, where do you want to go?"

"The beach, it's beautiful and we might be able to see some fireworks," Winston replied.

"Lead the way."

Talia took off her shoes and tossed them to the side and then she started walking side by side with Winston. She looked out at the water and the stars in the sky. The moon was gleaming and she felt as if she was floating.

They sat down, and there was a light breeze. Winston put his arm around her to share his warmth and she was grateful.

"Talia?"

"Yes..."

"Why are you here alone?"

"I don't have anyone else to go with."

"Don't you have any friends?"

"I had one, a long time ago. Her name was Mia."

"When was the last time you saw your friend?"

"I last saw her years ago, I can't remember."

"You can't remember or you won't remember?"

"Maybe both. I don't know the answer myself. Enough about me, what about you?"

"What do you want to know mam?"

"Anything that you want to tell me."

"I work a lot because my parents don't approve of my dream that I want to pursue," Winston replied.

"What is your dream?"

Winston tucked a strand of hair that was in her face, "I will tell you next time."

"Who says there is a next time?"

"Don't you want to hear the whole story, Talia?"

"I suppose I do. I guess you got me there."

They stayed a bit longer,

"I think we should head back Winston, you have work remember."

"I know but I don't want this night to end with you."

Winston got up and dusted his pants and held out a hand for her. Talia took his hand and he raised her up, he didn't let go of her hand.

They walked back hand in hand. Talia saw a shadow in the peripheral view of her eye. She turned her head slightly and jumped a bit. Her eyes widened.
