The Genie's Curse

24 Their greed

After their little stop, Tsuru decided she needed some rest. She looked concerned towards Keme before taking up the backseats and laying down. Didn't take her long to drift off while Keme and Allon were left to the unsettling silence.

Allon scratched his head feeling the tension rise, "Do you think she's got the guts to um... kill Keir?"

"I don't believe either of us can really tell what goes on in her head." Keme looked ahead at the road driving through the road.

"I kinda do think she does."

Keme laughed, "She also had the guts to kill that little friend of yours too. But look around she's alive again, isn't she? She feels guilty too easily."

Allon was taken back by his response, he wants wrong Tsuru was capable of killing but guilt tormented her like a plague, "You have a point. But she's been planing this for years-."

"Centuries." Keme corrected.

"Like I was saying. Could she really end up feeling guilty??

"Of course she can, she barely killed one person out of her own will, killing another might affect her as well as it might not affect her in the slightest... either way it goes, I don't care, I'll help her."

Allon heard the seriousness in his voice, "Don't throw me out but why are you two in a bad mood with each other."

"If you really don't wanna get thrown out then don't ask. It's none of your damn business."

"Come on, we're both here because we partially care about her, so just tell me." Allon ushered him to respond.

"Care... care!" Keme stopped the car and turned his attention to Allon, "I do so much than care about her. I'm living only for her, to help her settle this hole in her life! And if you stand in the way of it, I'll take you out myself... got that?"

Allon was scared out oh his pants feeling his back drenched in sweat, "Wait..." he had. A second to breathe his eyes widening, "you're in love with her..."

It was like finally wiling up from a dream and getting slapped by reality. "Get out of the car!" Keme whispered yelled careful not to wake Tsuru up.

Allon ignored him, "How could you fall in love with her? Heck, why haven't you told her?"

"Shut up Allon or I swear I'll cut off your tongue." Keme cold expression made Allon shiver under it.

Taking a deep breath he brought forth a moment of braveness informs of the man who would surely kill him, "Tell me now or I'll wake up Tsuru and tell her everything. She wouldn't even give you a second glance and come running to my side."

"Oh, I get it." Keme chuckled seeing the look in Allon's eyes, "You're jealous, now get out of my car..." he grinned at him pointing at the door.

Allon sucked in a gasp, "I'm not jealous."

She yawned before addressing the situation but by then all eyes were on her. She looked out the window and then at the two, "Why did we stop?"

Allon looked at Keme with a defying smirk, with Tsuru awake there was no way he would dare get him out the car, "Oh I had to take a leak."

"Huh?" Still, in her sleepy state, she didn't quite understand what he meant.

Keme smiled at her, "The man had to pee Tsuru, give him a break."

"Oh." She looked away with a slight tint on her cheeks, "So are we going to continue with this subject or...?"

Keme drove back in the road before she finished her question, "Sleep well?" His casual question annoyed Allon. He acted as if none of their conversations even happened, ignoring his glares that dug holes into his head.

"It's not nice to stare Allon," Tsuru called him out when finally taking notice and awakening from her groggy state.

"Sorry." Was all Allon murmured looking out the window at the nearing the Greta pyramid they were headed to. The breathtaking view was something that brought in tourists from around the world, which is a great sensation.

"Do you guys know how this place came to be?" Tsuru's voice sang looking at the same pyramid as the rest of them.

They were old and fragile but she knew tales even older than they, what fragments where left in her mind, she held tight and close

Tsuru stared down at another of her masters, she had gone through so many years just trying to be free. Going to the point of begging for her freedom, because she still didn't wish to take the life of another. She had gone through around seven masters so far and they just seemed to keep coming. Her eyes growing lifeless with every passing day.

I wish to be a king

I wish to be a queen

I wish for money

I wish for perfection

I wish for power

Their greed held no end, especially when there was almost nothing to stop them. However, after years of doing this, she did notice the patter. For each master died or disappeared, either someone found out about the lamp and took it from there grasp, or they simply lost it for good.

Nonetheless, her eyes seemed to once again shimmer with light staring at the master she now had. His laugh brought a sweet flutter to her hear feeling like it would jump out at any given moment.

"What are you looking at?" He asked noticing her fixated gaze on him, his lips moving upwards forming the smile that drove her mad.

His voice brought her back to the cruel reality she faced, "I'm just looking at you, Keir. Want me to stop?"

"No, I don't mind." Keir watched her start to float away, "Tsuru, where are you going?"

"Tsuru, where are you going?"

...

"Tsuru where are you going?" Keme repeated for the hundredth time starting to get annoyed.

Is there really anywhere to go, because she has only ever remembered feeling trapped

Tsuru was lost in her thoughts her feet walking aimlessly until she felt a pull on her shoulder slamming her against a concrete-like chest, "Tsuru, where are you going?"
