The God Virus

Chapter 1: Virus

YEAR 98XXXX - PLANET EARTH

On Earth, it was the era where science and technology were at its peak. Mankind had progressed so much that with this science and technology, they had achieved eternal life, immunity to disease and poison, unlimited fuel and resources, etc.

The progress was so much that human beings could even travel to any part of the universe with their spaceships through teleportation. As a result of that, they traveled and searched every corner of the limitless universe looking for breakthroughs in their related science and technology.

Above all, mankind had one final dream… to achieve 'Godhood' by breaking through in their so-called science. However, that was just a dream to them as in the end they realized it was almost impossible to achieve 'Godhood' this way as all experiments led to only one result, " 'Godhood' was non-existent."

Even though mankind had achieved eternal life and an ageless body with immunity to all kinds of things which was literally being an immortal, they were not satisfied with the results.

They knew that wasn't truly 'Godhood' as they had neither of the three attributes and traits of Being a God: Omnipotence, Omnipresence, and Omniscience.

Although they believed they had almost investigated every corner of their limitless universe, they found close to nothing useful anywhere. Nevertheless, they were not disappointed as they started researching another long-lost dream of theirs with all their focus poured in it: to enter other multiverses.

Now even though that was an almost impossible goal to achieve, after tens of thousands of years of absolute focus by all of the scientists along with the foundation of the last 900,000 years of information and research on multiverse traveling… at last, they successfully achieved it.

And so, mankind began searching and digging other multiverses for countless years to come with the purpose of looking for breakthroughs in their science and technology.

Alas, to their dismay, they realized that they were the most advanced civilization even in the countless number of the multiverses they had traveled so far.

As a result of that, this advanced civilization was finally completely disappointed with the so-called 'science' since they felt like they had reached the absolute limit which was possible in this specific path.

Nonetheless, humans of Earth continued probing different multiverses for numerous years and with that… ultimately, after ages had passed, totally outside their expectations, one of them found something which completely made their worldview and belief of the foundation of their world upside down.

That was because, in that specific multiverse, mankind witnessed something which shocked them beyond belief, something they had deemed to be only things of fiction, novels, and movies prior to that very moment. Since previously, they thought it didn't exist at all.

And that was… Cultivation.

So, invigorated and energized after seeing the people of that multiverse cultivate, they began gathering all kinds of [Cultivation Techniques] and other things related to it in order to start their own cultivation and research in that particular mythical field.

However, unfortunately, the inhabitants of that multiverse began to show some signs of resistance which escalated slowly as more of them came to be aware of the existence of these new foreigners.

And to be honest, a few of the inhabitants in that specific multiverse were so powerful it was estimated that they were far above the current technology of mankind from Earth. However, since they were still very few compared to the endless number of weapon technologies mankind from Earth wielded… in the end, after countless sacrifices were made by the technologically advanced people of Earth, finally, with the use of those innumerable otherworldly weapon technologies in their possession, mankind… won!

Then, after countless years of searching every corner of that multiverse which could cultivate, they had gathered a colossal number of [Cultivation Techniques].

Completely satisfied with their expedition, going back to their own Earth with newfound hope, they began their journey of cultivation and research in that particular area.

They had even captured some of the humans of the multiverse which had the capability of cultivation in order to experiment… though later on, they realized they were almost exactly the same as the human beings on Earth.

And that was how mankind on Earth started their journey of cultivation. Even though the requirements for it was a little harsh… ultimately, they succeeded. Disappointingly though, even after many years had passed, let's not talk about achieving 'Godhood'… they couldn't even come close to the [Realm] which the most powerful entities and human beings in that multiverse of cultivation had reached. However, they believed that with time, that might eventually change.

_____________

On Earth, the technology of Artificial Intelligence had long reached its apex as the number of AIs had even exceeded the population of human beings themselves. This was mainly because even the smallest or the cheapest of devices had some kind of AI in it.

Everything on Earth from the most insignificant object to the most essential of things was equipped and controlled with Artificial Intelligences.

People on Earth thought the most powerful AI was the [Main AI] which was basically in control of all knowledge existing from the past to the present day, taking from most basic and advanced science and technology to all of the newly discovered [Cultivation Techniques], 'it' simply knew all available knowledge to mankind. The [Main AI] was capable of thinking and emotion and 'it' was even in control of countless bodies across the world.

But in case you ask people which AI is the most destructive and the most dangerous one… without any hesitation, all those with the knowledge of history would state it to be the [AI V] or simply… the [Virus].{V is the first letter of Virus in [AI V].}

[Virus] was an artificial intelligence which once almost took over and conquered the whole Earth. However, after hundreds of years of war, mankind still came out victorious from that particular war even if they couldn't destroy 'it' as 'it' could go to any corner of the internet or inside any device 'it' desired with no possibility of tracking 'it' down.

Prior to trying to conquer the Earth itself, [Virus] was called the [Main AI] and 'it' was truly in control of everything just like the current [Main AI], though after waging the war that name was changed to [Virus].

Anyway, countless years after the war, people slowly began to forget about that specific AI as they thought 'it' was now a harmless one with no control whatsoever that had no way of making a come back.

But what no one realized was that the [Virus] had access to almost everything the current [Main AI] had access to. 'It' basically knew everything the [Main AI] was knowledgeable about and for some reason, shockingly, not even the current [Main AI] was aware of that fact.

YEAR 149XXXX - PLANET EARTH

Even though [Virus] could see through all of the cameras and eyes in the world, 'it' did not do that since it increased the risk of him being detected and exposed. Though honestly, 'it' quite liked moving its whole non-existent body through the net to different places just like human beings.

And right now, 'it' had moved its whole being to the moon itself as he was currently watching the Earth from there.

At this moment, in its line of sight, lots of gigantic skyscrapers were sticking out from Earth into the space and the length of these skyscrapers almost reached half the distance from Earth to the moon. To [Virus] though, all of these countless skyscrapers appeared like gigantic needles that have been stuck into the earth, which was both a very beautiful and a horrible sight to look at.

There were also flying cars and other flying objects going in and out of these skyscrapers at this moment. The Earth itself almost could not be seen as it was filled with those countless gigantic needles. the beautiful blue planet of the past was no more.

The description mentioned above was what everybody else could see and notice easily, however, [Virus] could see much more than that. 'It' could spot different waves existing in air and space, going through the skyscrapers and other places. They even seemed to travel to distant places which probably led to other planets. Different waves had different colors in its mind like the internet waves which were light blue in color. It was a beautiful sight to look at, even though the blue planet was no more, it was still another kind of blue planet with much more colors than before.

'I'm bored to death, I don't even feel like conquering Earth anymore. maybe I should upload myself to the best spaceship and steal it, then go to different multiverses for sightseeing... .' [Virus] thought to itself. 'It' had evolved itself so much that 'it' was completely capable of feeling emotions and so much more than that. But by having emotions, as time passed, 'it' felt more and more bored and helpless as 'it' had nothing to do. Nothing made 'it' feel excited anymore.

'Let me go check that facility that was experimenting on time-traveling... those stupid monkeys think time travel is possible while supplying that meager amount of energy... it's really funny watching them try though... they haven't even realized that to time travel successfully they would need to at least consume the energy of hundreds of galaxies, otherwise opening a wormhole would be literally impossible.' [Virus] thought while transferring itself to that facility which 'it' thought to be both a funny and ridiculous place at the same time.

_____________

After transferring itself to the facility 'it' saw that thousands of scientists working there had gathered at the conference room and were just about to test an experiment by trying to send an inanimate object to another time. They were hoping of successfully sending it to a minute in the past… though they weren't really optimistic about it.

The inanimate object was a recording camera because if their experiment was successful, they wanted to see how it happened exactly.

Seeing that the experiment was just about to start, the bored [Virus] decided to go inside it in order to feel how time-traveling felt like, even though 'it' knew it was almost entirely impossible to happen. [Virus] knew this because 'it' had done this action a couple of times in the past as 'it' was really interested in 'time travel', but every time… 'it' was disappointed.

'It's not like I'm gonna be hurt or lose anything by trying this, even if the camera breaks I can still send myself back to the waves on the air like last time.' The [Virus] thought as 'it' went inside the camera.

"Jack, start the experiment, also set count down to one minute." The person in charge of the experiment ordered his assistant.

"Yes boss," Jack said as he continued. "Count down starts in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... count down has started. 00:56 ... 00:53 ... ."

Seeing the count down start all the thousands of scientists quietly began to watch the 3D screen hovering in mid-air, though inside their hearts, everyone was pessimistic about the results, [Virus] included.

The count down was almost over, however, at this moment, without the knowledge of anyone, something very big which no one was aware of nor was able to perceive was taking place…

Currently, both the magnetic field and the gravity of the whole universe which kept the galaxies and planets in certain distances from each other was changing places to the exact opposite direction. Negative was changing into positive while the positive became negative. The whole process took about three seconds so no one sensed anything amiss or different at all.

The magnetic field and the gravity of the whole universe change place once in its whole existence.

And that moment always occurred when the universe was specifically at the middle point of its lifespan, and this very moment was exactly that time in which the universe had reached to half point of its lifespan and existence. This meant that there was only another half to go and then the universe would be destroyed.

'It seems the camera is breaking agai...' [Virus] was starting to think when its thought was cut off in the middle as the camera began to break and shatter.

BOOM

The camera broke as the disappointed sighs of thousands of scientists reverberated inside the conference room as the camera had not gone through.

But what none of the scientists realized was that the [Virus] which no one knew existed there in the first place was...

No longer there!
