The journey of Yin and Yang
54 Welcome home V
When Yang apprehended the meaning behind Ember's question, his heart started to ache again. He pulled back from his mother and focused on his hands on his lap.
"I confessed to Yin and... I was rejected." He whispered in disappointment.
Ember wanted to immediately give her baby son another supportive hug, but didn't want to disturb him as she sensed that more confessions were incoming.
"I wanted to know why and she said..." He took a deep breath before continuing.
"She said that there was nothing to like about me and that I was too weak and stupid."
"Oh my poor baby." Ember wrapped her arms around him to give him comfort.
"She has eyes yet she is blind. You are strong, not only in cultivation compared to your piers, but also mentally. How many times haven't you challenged Yin in the past and how many times haven't you lost? You can go down defeated all the time, but you never fail to rise up again. This stubbornness of yours must be among the top in the Realms." She consoled.
"You might not be the brightest with your brain, but that is only because of your young age and your little experience. You are only 1133 years old, which is nothing compared to everyone else in the Realms. Believe me, Yang Yang. With age comes wisdom. Even the biggest idiot can turn into a genius with enough experiences."
Yang felt much better after hearing this and elevated his head to look at his mother.
"Really?" His voice carried hope as his eyes lit up for the first time since he left the Sea of Pondering.
Ember smiled warmly and nodded.
"Of course, baby. When has your mother ever lied to you?"
"Never." A wide grin spread across his face as he leant back and glided out of his mother's embrace.
"So what are you going to do now? Are you going to let the Ice God's words keep pulling you down or are you going to rise up from the ashes and shine even brigher than before?"
"I am not going to let her drag me down." Yang stood up and said with strong conviction.
"I am going to prove her wrong and make her eat up her own words!"
Ember gave a hearty laugh and kept spurring her son.
"How are you going to accomplish that? By beating the crap out of her?"
"Yes, I will defeat her with my own strength." He clenched his fists tightly.
"And I will study to become more knowledgeable. I will show her that she has underestimated me!"
When Ember heard that he promised to finally study, her eyes almost popped out of her eyes sockets. If her son really did that, she would really want to personally thank that girl.
"Then, I will make her like me!"
