The Journey To An Unknown Destination

26 In The Center Of Cyber Bullying

Emily rolled her eyes, she went up to wake him up and dragging him inside. Chris rubbed his eyes and looked around in a confused state. "Go on, Emily? What complains do you have?" Alicia asked, while sternly looking at Chris. As soon as he heard these few words, Chris suddenly looked at Emily.

Emily peeked at Chris from the corner of her eye. His expression was full of guilt and fake innocence. It was like he was pleading her to give him one last chance. It seemed as if he is about to be sentenced to death and Emily was his only light of hope. Emily really wanted to slap him for playing his dumb, fake innocent game.

What's there to be afraid of a little scolding and some punishment? This is the last time I'm letting you go! Emily thought.

"Huh, complains? Mom, haha, you must be joking!" She laughed awkwardly. Seeing that her parents were not moved at all, she cursed Chris and herself inside while still pretending like nothing happened. "Come on, mom! Nothing is wrong, get some rest."

Saying this she quickly grabbed Chris with herself outside. As soon as they went upstairs, Chris grabbed one of her hands and started kissing it. Emily pulled her hand away, "Ew! What the hell?!" Chris ignored her complaints and started blabbering, "Emily! You are the best, the most kind and sweetest elder sister in the world. I owe you my life! Please forgive me, punish me, your choice."

Hearing all this nonsense made Emily feel like she was a cruel queen who showed some mercy and freed a slave. She slapped the back of his head, "Oh, shut up! Stop sputtering nonsense." Chris straightened up and rubbed the place where Emily hit her and replied embarrassingly, "Oh, I got a little carried away."

Emily rolled her eyes, "Whatever, be careful next time." Then she turned around and went to her room, and started studying, trying to complete her homework.

Finally, she was finished. She stretched her back and looked up at the time. Six o' clock p.m. Her cell buzzed. She picked it up and received a message from an unknown number.

Unknown number: Hey, Emily! I am Cyril.

Emily was partly shocked and partly confused, how on earth did he get her number? She straightforwardly asked him:

Emily: How did you get my number?

Cyril: Oh, Chris gave me today!

Emily: Uh, why did you need my number for?

Cyril: You didn't come today, so I asked Chris for your number.

Emily: How did you know Chris is my brother?

Cyril: Uh… My little bro and your bro are best friends.

Emily: Okay.

Cyril: Is everything alright? You seem to be angry at me?

First of all, Woah. He really can sense me being annoyed, or… Uhm, is it just too obvious? Even if she is angry, she is angry at Chris. Who gave him the right to distribute her number to whomever he likes! Well, actually, in this case, he had no other choice. Emily sighed, rubbing her head.

Emily: Oh, no, it's really nothing! I am alright. My mom was not feeling well, so I had to stay home.

Cyril: Oh… Hope she gets well soon! Take care, good bye!

Emily: Sure, bye.

She turned off her phone, thought for a while and turned it back on. First of all, she texted Aiden about planning to cancel her registration in the gym.

Emily: Hey, Aiden! I just wanted to day that I won't be coming to the gym from tomorrow onward. I'll be coming only for tomorrow, just to pay the fee. I actually can't manage all this stuff. Since, we will be practicing at college, I am fine with that.

Aiden: Oh, hey! Well, it's not a big deal. I totally understand. Nothing to worry about!

Emily: Thanks!

Aiden: Oh and one more thing… Uhm… It's best to see for yourself actually. Open and go through your social media accounts.

Emily: Uh oh. I can sense trouble. Everything alright?

Aiden: Honestly, no.

Reading the last word made Emily gulp in fear. She could totally guess it has something to do with Ivy. Huh, fear, and Ivy? Emily gritted her teeth. She really knows how to use power, doesn't she?

As soon as she turned on the Wi-Fi, the notifications started ringing one after the other. The phone was buzzing nonstop. It was about after two minutes that everything became calm. She had no idea for how long she had not turned on the Wi-Fi! She first opened her Instagram. She had followed the GCA Press's official site, and it was a ruckus!

Its latest posts were about the competition between Emily and Cyril. There were pictures of them aiming and shooting. The caption was: "A Match between Emily and Cyril." They even managed to tag her and Cyril.

Clearly someone was aiming to degrade her, even though the caption seemed to be nice with no hatred. The top comments were filled with hatred towards Emily. Filled with all sorts of remarks, claiming Emily to be shameless, arrogant, rude and proud.

She scrolled through the comments, and in the end, there were only a few students, who supported Emily. But, unfortunately, it was like a needle in a haystack.
