The King Alpha's Mate

*Carmela's POV*

The night was over leaving me with dark circles under my eyes. I listened at the tic tac of the antique wall clock inside the room, it's eight o'clock in the morning. There's only me in the big bed the entire evening, and it's funny I didn't get much sleep thinking the alpha would come to sleep by my side but he didn't. I was preparing myself for a little fight to kick him out of his room that i felt relieved when he didn't show up.

Our trip to the Langstone Palace as the Alpha had informed everyone was at one pm this afternoon. I'm still not accepting the fact that i am to leave this town in a few hours. I removed the thick blanket off of me and get down from the bed. My destination is the bathroom to follow my morning routine.

I was fresh and ready to get out of the room when the door suddenly opened. Damn! I should have put the locked on since last night.

"I'm glad you're ready for breakfast".. Is what he says running a glance on my sweatshirt and black tight leggings, the spark in his eyes tells me he had approved of what I'm wearing. I managed to just pull out the first outfit i saw from the luggage that my sister brought for me.

His voice deep and I noticed that he doesn't look like he didn't sleep. His handsome features never shows any traces of fatigue or lack of sleep. No dark circles or eyebag, infact he looks as if he just finished a morning run. I wondered where he slept last night but I wasn't planning on asking him. He didn't wait for my reply before going inside the bathroom, probably to take a shower when i heard the noise of the water running. I sat on the bed thinking if I should go down without him or wait for him to finished.

I decided to do my first choice and walked towards the bedroom door and down the stairs to the dining room.

"Good morning Miss Carmela, would you like to have your breakfast now?

"Oh good morning Hadil, yes please. But where is everybody?

Noticing the silence in the air made me curious. There was supposed to be six or seven men in the house including the Alpha.

"Oh, the men had their breakfast at seven in the morning and Alpha didn't asked to wake you up. I assumed he wanted you to get all your needed rest".

The old cook smiled while she pulled out a chair for me. So everybody had breakfast already except for me..that doesn't really made me sad or happy. But I think it's better.

"Ok then can I just have some pancakes and a cup of coffee?

"Sure Miss Carmela, coming right up".

I waited for a few minutes and then she came and gave me the food.

The coffee smelled so good it made my day, Hadil is such a gem in the kitchen maybe that's the reason why the Alpha treats her well. My pancakes looks so delicious in butter pecan syrup and i love how fluffy they are. She made it like my favorite pancakes in a famous chain.

"Thanks Hadil! You're pancakes are the best".

"Oh, you're welcome I'm so glad you like it! Aside from you, only the Princess of the Langstone Palace appreciates my pancakes. I think it's too sweet for the male wolves".

It was an honest answer coming out from the old lady but i stop chewing the food in my mouth after I realized what she had just said. "Wolves" Did it means that even Hadil is a wolf? I have not thought about it since the first time i saw her.

"Uhm..if you have nothing else to asked Miss Carmela, I'll be just in my room packing some of my stuff for the journey".

Her smile put me off from the weird thoughts that's going inside my head. "Go on Hadil please i can manage".

She headed out of the dining room leaving me to my breakfast alone. Even with the unpleasant thoughts about wolves and the werewolf cook in the house I still ends up finishing all the pancakes in my plate.

After i ate i put all my dishes in the sink and wash it as my way of saying thanks to Hadil for the great food. I enjoyed it so much.

When I headed back to the room, I secretly wished the alpha is gone. It is not comfortable for me to have him around. But as long as i entered the room i saw him busy packing some of his stuff in the huge walked in closet. He was fast, the whole room looked empty already and there are three closed luggages on the floor. He is starting to fill up the last one from what I'm guessing.

"You can come in and sit in the bed Carmela, get some rest before our travel."

With his back at me he continued working on the last luggage in the floor. I can't help but stare at his broad back and thought about how physically perfect he is.

"I'm still thinking how I could convince you to just let me stay..with my family".

The loud slammed of the closet door have startled me and made me stepped back a little. His mood swings are giving me the creeps. He groaned.

"I thought we already talked about this mate! If you don't want me getting mad at you, refrain from thinking about getting away! Because you can never get away from me Carmela. Not anymore!

"You're Dad has agreed to this! So it's about time you accept the facts!

I take in a huge deep breath when he snapped a glance towards my side and his eyes changes it's color from brown to gold. I stood still with my mouth shut not wanting to utter a word or even apologize.

He stormed out of the room and slammed the front door leaving one last open luggage. It looks like i ruined his day, when he is about to ruin my entire life! I sighed and think about maybe there's a way out for me I just have to be patient since the Alpha has none.

After a few seconds Hadil came to finish the job.

"I'm sorry you have to do this Hadil, let me help you". I walked towards her and offered her a hand. She smiled and move her head sideways.

"It's ok Luna it's already done." She closed up the luggage and turned to get out of the room.

"What did you just called me? I frowned asking her the last one word that she said. Luna? I wondered what that mean...

"Luna...Miss Carmela, you are our future Luna of the Royal Pack. You are Alpha Jack's mate."

"He told me to start calling you that from now onwards".

Her smile made me calmed a little because I'm about to freak out. What's with the Luna thing,,I need to know everything about the wolves. There might be a way out. I just need to focused and relaxed and do some research because all i ever know is just that wolves hunt and their leader is called the Alpha. Being a Luna and the mate bond, i need to know these things and perhaps just maybe I could get out of Alpha Jack's grasp.
