The King Alpha's Mate

*Jack's POV*

I marked her! I wasn't able to hold back. My wolf blood took over when she acted like she was begging for it. But I know something was odd the moment my Queen mother and my mate arrived at the dining table.

She started feeling hot and wanton. Her skin asked for my touched, her eyes beg me to take her and her lips hungry for my kiss. I couldn't restrain myself.

The moon Goddess knows how much i ached for her, that the moment she initiated the kiss i was totally consumed. The desire to mark her was too strong I am powerless against it. But now my mate had lost consciousness, I might have overdone the mark.

My Queen mother would be the one to blame for this! I am sure she did something and Maleficus will find out soon enough, or Freyah knows already..

But what will happen if i had truly hurt my human mate? I couldn't condone myself if she is injured by my mark. Human mates are fragile and would react differently into a mate's bite. I have to make sure she's alright.

Now I'm pacing back and forth outside our bedroom while the maids and Freyah is inside examining her out. She blacked out right after I gave the bite on her neck. The mating procedure was incomplete. I haven't made love to my mate.

Damn! What's taking them so long!

I uttered profanity at myself while stomping my feet outside our bedroom door.

And where the hell is Maleficus! I ordered for him but Freyah came instead. I feel agitated and the rapid beating of my heart is not slowing down. I jerked my head towards the door when I picked up the sound of footsteps behind.

"It's alright Alpha Jack, she just needed some sleep. Her heart is beating quiet normally and her body is not harmed. She would soon go into transition and you know that she's human...It would take her two to three days to recover because her mate is a powerful Alpha".

Freyah stood up infront of me and explained my mate's condition.

"Are you certain about that Freyah? I let a slow growl out.

Freyah made a heavy sigh from his lips.

"Alpha Jack, I know we had an unpleasant past but it doesn't mean I would deceive you. I am a good witch and your mate's condition isn't something you should be so worried about".

I diverted my gaze away from her. I didn't want to remember how we used to be before, none of the women that I go out with had kept a place in my heart like my mate does. What Freyah and I had, was just a moment of sheer pleasure and lust. Something forgetful and ordinary. We did it mutually, no strings attached and I didn't want her to mention this again. Especially that I already have found my mate.

"Thank you Freyah! But i order you, not to speak to anyone about us. The things we did in the past was only a call of the flesh. Nothing more. We had enjoyed each other for that short moment but we aren't mates.

You, above all women that used to sleep with me very well understood the circumstances that i am in right now".

Freyah's eyes squinted and fueled with jealousy but i saw how she managed to keep her cool and answered me in a small voice.

"O-of course Alpha Jack, I apologized for making you remember. And if you are to be needing the assistance of my brother Maleficus then I will go get him."

"Very well Freyah. Do tell Maleficus it is urgent". I manage to tell her before she turned her back completely out of my sight.

Freyah was a good and talented witch, the younger sister of Maleficus. Her age is not far from him. They were old, older than me.

But because of the nature's gift and her knowledge towards all sorts of medicines she have maintained her younger looking body and face. Only Maleficus does not want to alter his looks so much. Maleficus looks old but his strength is equivalent to a young wolf.He is particularly just plain and simple then he dedicated his entire life helping the people of their needs.

"Alpha Jack you asked for me?

The old man appeared beside me suddenly.

"Maleficus, Yes! Where were you? I need you to take a look at Carmela, i have marked her".

Without delay I opened the bedroom door and went inside with Maleficus following behind my back. I heard him cleared his throat and wave his hand to Claire and Cory. Making them get out of the room. Maleficus is a very cautious witch he never perform magic in front of the lower class.

After the two maids walked out of the bedroom, he bend down in the bed placing his hand at Carmela and examined my mates neck. The bite wound is deep but closed, I felt the sudden guilt for what I did towards my mate. She must still be hurting even in her dreams! I caused this to happen. My jaw flexed and I clenched my teeth.

"Hmmm..the bite wound is better than I thought, do not worry yourself Alpha Jack. She will wake up in two to three days. As a she wolf, one of us. Carmela will be a strong Luna, I can already feel her strength! Her energy. It was wise that you marked her today".

Maleficus looked happy and confident, now I'm sure my mate is ok.

"Good! That's magnificent Maleficus!

"Yes my Prince, she will be a great Luna and Queen. Immune to silver, and she will bear an heir to the throne".

I almost cannot believe the words coming from Maleficus. My heart is filled with an overwhelming happiness. But an heir is too much to think about right now.

"I just have a question Maleficus, what did my Queen mother made her drink in the liquor room? That when Carmela came back she acted a little strange!

Maleficus cleared his throat and looked away from the bed. He touches his grey beard under his chin.

"Nothing that could harm her Alpha Jack...it was just a wine that the Queen Luna asked me to make".

I groaned because i know something else was in that wine. This old man has to tell me so i can confront my mother. It's about time she stops manipulating people. I would marked my mate but not under her plans. She had pry into my affairs again! Just like those times when i was younger and she hated the she wolves that sleeps with me.

"Tell me Maleficus..what was on that wine!

My dangerous Alpha tone had made the old man frightened. He stepped back and replied.

"Alpha Jack...it was just a wine with a pinch of aphrodisiac and something that would induce a mild heat to a woman. The Queen herself drinks it in a good evening with the King."

I gritted my teeth in anger. I was right, my mother had interfered with us. She had let Carmela drink that wine in purpose! How I dislike my mother when she does like this!

"I will have a word with my Queen mother as long as Carmela wakes up! This isn't right Maleficus, i know when and where i will mark my mate. She should not have done that!"

"I apologized Alpha Jack,, but the Queen Luna have no evil intentions and this is just to speed up the process of your wedding. At the time she wakes up, Carmela will recognized you..Not as the man who abducted her, but the man she is mated to.

Her King..and her mate".

I've already thought about that too, and I am so eager to wait.
