The King Alpha's Mate

*Carmela's POV*

I woke up from a dream...somewhere inside a vast forest, being here made me consult my mind if this is reality or not. As I noticed the tall tress, green grass and the birds chirping above the branches.

The fresh air and a little chilly atmosphere made me feel the tiny hairs in my arms and legs as it slowly stands against the fabric of my cotton dress, i also smelled the different scents lingering in the air.

The aroma of wild flowers inside the forest and the smell of the pines that seemed so real, but somehow I just knew I am only dreaming. Because last thing I remember I was with Alpha Jack. We were in the bedroom caught up with the moment of passion. Remembering the incident made the blood in my veins rushed through my face as I blushed how the passion between us aroused and almost consumed us both.

I gasped and ran my hand over my neck when I remembered exactly what happened.. I touched the spot where he had bit me. I was hurt and I lost consciousness! I was marked, does it mean I'm no longer human?

I sniffed the air and caught the scent of a flowing stream not far from where I am standing. So I run faster than I have ever been in my life, I wanted to look at myself in the water. I wonder if I still looked the same. I saw how Alpha Jack's features changes from a human to a wolf when his wolf blood took over. And it wasn't pretty.

I stopped when I finally saw the running water in the middle of the forest. My feet slowly walked as my mind told me, please I don't want to become a beast...Let me stay human and live with peace.

Directly I looked down at my reflection in the water. My hair is the same, dark and long. But my face have a little difference it's a little strange. I looked extraordinarily radiant and my eyes are glowing. It was supposed to be a little dark green but now it has some specs of red. I touched the skin in my arms and I was relieved that it felt the same.

Then my heart started to beat out loud. Thumping like the beat of a drum.

What's going on? I groaned in pain as I felt my neck throb from the part where Alpha Jack had bit me.

My skin started to itched and my vision become blurry. My bones are cracking and it felt like hell!! It burns it's excruciatingly burns and it is killing me!

My head feels like it is about to explode. My brain is going into a terrible shock as waves of pain was seething throughout my bones from my back to my legs and my toes. My fingers snap and i was forced to bend down as my whole body shifted from human to a furry wolf. My mind refused to believe the creature before my eyes!

A wolf! A fluffy light brown wolf with eyes that's green and red. I felt the tears run down my cheeks, I shouted and cried!

No! Then a loud whining came out of my snout.

I'm no longer human! He turned me, Alpha Jack have made me a beast. I clutched my chest as I started to feel the anger boiling deep inside of me. Why? Why did he have to do something like this, I wasn't ready I didn't expect this to happen all too suddenly. I will never be the same again, i am no longer the Carmela who's a simple girl that lives in a small town. The Carmela who only wants to go to college and to make her Dad proud. The lady who's been a good sister and a loving daughter to her late mother.

Looking at myself in the water made me realized just how a life could change with just as quick as a bite in the neck. I should have been more careful and more prudent as a girl. I shouldn't have applied as a waitress in Jack's Diner. If only I hadn't dream about going to college and saving extra cash. I would have stayed human living a simple life in that small town.

But looked at me now! God help me but I cannot accept this, a thought crossed my mind. Maybe I-... I should just end myself right here and now.

But why am I going to hurt myself? no!. That is just cruel and violent i am not like them. I am not a beast..

I jerked my head away from the water when i heard voices talking out loud. It was Alpha Jack and the old man Maleficus. Then i felt my body fell down backwards on the grass beside the stream. Looking at the clouds at the tiny opening of the leaves from the branches of a tree. I closed my eyes slowly and let my tears fall down tracing the sides of my cheeks and reached the ground.

"She should be waking up now Maleficus what's taking her so long?

I heard Alpha Jack's voice somewhere near me. I know he is with the old wizard whom i have met before when i was still in town. Some memories are starting to fade now.

And then I smelled something...What is this scent? It smelled like an invigorating Vanilla and Pine.

The scent gets into my nostrils and flows to my tongue that I could almost taste it in my mouth. It's sweet, my stomach churned it wants the scent. I need to know where it came from. I just need to have a fill with my lungs. I struggled and wriggled from the weight of my sleep. Then my eyes flew open and I took in a huge breathe.

“Ahh..

I jerked forward from the bed where i was laying. Then the scent hit me again, this time stronger and more alluring.

“Oh thanks moon Goddess your awake Carmela!”

He came to me in a rushed and then my world stopped. He looked so overwhelming, so verile and strong!I knew his name is Jack but how did he changed his looks in just a matter of days? I inhaled deeply and my eyes grew wide. His scent! There's something about his smell, I must have him.

I turned towards my side and watch him in the eyes. Oh my God, he's beauty it's so overpowering. His eyes are the best thing I have ever seen in my whole life.

“Alpha Jack!

I grab the fabric of his shirt in the arm and he groaned as my hand felt the heat of his skin against mine. I can’t seem to find the anger that i had for him in my dreams. Right now i just want to be near him.

Our eyes met and his lips is only a few inches from me. I could smell her breath, like pines and vanilla it’s so sweet. I immediately closed my eyes hoping for a kiss. But he didn’t do it, instead i heard the voice of the old man.

“Well, it looks like the future Queen is up! And from what i see. The mate bond is starting to progress. Remember Alpha Jack, the Queen Luna did not do you any harm or to Carmela”.

Alpha Jack broke the eye contact with me and turned towards Maleficus. I was left in disappointment, my heart started to feel pain. Come back to me Alpha Jack, i need you to see only me. It’s what my mind is saying.

“I’ll be the one to decide on that Maleficus! Not you!

“Alright you’re majesty, but I’ll be taking my leave for now. You and your Luna seems to have a much more interesting topic to discuss. I’ll see myself to the door”.

The old man Maleficus walked out of the room with his eyes sparkling in amusement. He knows that I had turned out to be as what the King and Queen had expected.
