The King Alpha's Mate

*Jack's POV*

After i introduced Carmela to my warrior wolves, we head back to the palace. It was still in the middle of the day, we are full and I'm thinking we could take a sweet nap together. My mate and me. It's seems like a romantic thing to do, my heart is overwhelmed and my mind and body is in harmony. She have felt our bond, and finally my love for her is reciprocated.

We are one, our hearts intertwined. We are soul mates, we we're meant to be since the beginning of time. It is a destiny given to us by the Moon Goddess, to love and to hold each other until the end of our wolf life. I am so grateful that I have found my mate at last. The only she wolf that I would love throughout eternity, my Luna and my Queen.

My thoughts were disturbed by a knock on the door, Carmela is in the bathroom taking a shower so I hurried to open our bedroom door..

"What is it Claire?

Looking at the look of wary in our chamber maid's face created a frown in my forehead.

"Alpha Jack, Beta Matias is downstairs he asked if he could speak to you. There's an important message from the King".

I went still and glanced at the closed door of the bathroom. My mate is still inside and the King might have a significant issue to discuss, otherwise he wouldn't send my Beta to looked for me.

"Stay here Claire and when Carmela finished her bath..Tell her i am speaking to the King and i will come back as soon as i can".

"Of course Alpha Jack."

She bowed her head and went inside the room. I hesitated my steps, I wanted to wait for a while until my mate come out of our bathroom but then i made up my mind. I took the stairs down to the hall where i find my Beta patiently standing and waiting for me.

"Good day Alpha, I apologized for coming in the middle of the day".

I looked at Beta Matias for a while, he looked the same like always. Wearing his favorite long sleeved polished shirt and a black formal trouser. I sense his wariness even in his calm demeanor.

"It is alright, now tell me. What does the King wants this time?

I put my two hands inside the pocket of my casual basic trouser and waited for his reply. Deep inside i know the matter must be concerning the pack and my mate.

"His highness wanted you to come with me Alpha and discuss the issue in his function room. He said I have to make sure we go back together."

I let out a harsh breath and combed my fingers inside my hair. Trying to calm the rushed of my nerves.

"Well then, what are we waiting for?

I went out ahead of my Beta and headed for the front door. He quickly followed me and opened it so I could come out. I get inside the Black Mercedes as soon as i get out.

While sitting inside the car, my mind went back to my mate. I am already counting every second that she's not around me. My heart is asking for her, my body wants her near. I hoped the meeting with the King will end up quickly because I couldn't stay long without her at my sight.

A sigh of relief envelope my senses when we arrived on the other side of the palace. The place where the King and Queen stays.

When Beta Matias stopped the car, I immediately went out and walked towards the huge entrance. The wolf guards on duty greeted and bowed down to me which I just replied with a brief nod of my head. I am anxious to what the King have to discuss.

As the door slowly move to let me in, i notice the twelve wooden chairs that surround the long table are almost full. My father sat in the middle and my mother on his side. Maleficus and Freyah is also present along with six of my strongest warrior wolves.

Everybody looked serious and a tension is felt inside the room.

"Welcome Alpha Jack, we we're waiting for you."

Maleficus smiled and acknowledged my arrival. I turned my gaze around and stop to see the eyes of my mother. She was about to stand up and greet me when i diverted my eyes away letting her know I don't want to talk to her. I still haven't forgotten what she did. She had manipulated Carmela to bear my mark and I wasn't happy about that.

I sat on the other end of the table with my father, the King facing me.

"Tell me father, what's this all about?

My Father cleared his throat and look at my Queen mother which have a disappointment expression written all over her face. I know she have already sense my dislike towards what she did from the last time that's why she looked upset.

"My son, this is about the meeting with the six Alphas who swore their alliance to us. They will have to renew it soon and if they refuse, we have no choice but to get ready for war".

"But father aren't you feeling confident that they will be our allies again? Like the previous years in over decades. They knew our pack is the strongest and we are descended from the wolves who's immune to silver. What seems to be the trouble?

My father sighed and clenched his fist.

"There is an Alpha in the Cold Mountain Pack who doesn't want to be our allies. We heard rumors about him spreading the words that he could bring us all down, and that our gift of being immune to silver can no longer passed to the next generation of Langston clan".

"What nonsense!

I managed to let out quickly.

"The Moon Goddess have blessed us with this gift forever until the last drop of our blood, and where could he get this ridiculous rumors from?

My father the King took the glass of wine in front of him and gulped down before turning his gaze back at me.

"He has a witch who can see the future. Alpha Zero of the Cold Mountain Pack, has a strong witch by his side. Like Maleficus that witch came from the original witch clan. They can see and predict the future".

I turned my eyes towards Maleficus. The old man looked troubled and he is looking at his drinking glass in front of him, I couldnt say exactly what he is thinking.

"Well Maleficus, tell me now. Did you see that we can no longer be immune to silver?

The old man looks at me and said. " I didn't see it Alpha Jack, my deep apologies. And one more thing I still cannot see the future of your mate getting pregnant. For this moment calls to produce an heir and keep the wolves faith on us.

But that doesn't mean you two are not compatible. It's just that my vision is sometimes subjective".

I irritably growled and saw Freyah. "How about you Freyah, any vision for the Langston Family?

"Yes Alpha Jack, but it's not about the Family's tolerance to silver bullets and swords. It's about the Lunas's Future. Because i can sense that she has a very strong spirit but within a year I cannot see her getting pregnant either".

"What!?...

My father the King and me have asked at the same time.

"But fear not, because we have a remedy for the first barren she wolves.'

I gritted my teeth and almost snarl at her.

"My mate is not barren! You should take back what you said, if an heir is the answer then we are going to produce one!

Freyah looked down, unable to see the glint of animosity in my eyes.

"I'm sorry Alpha.."

"When is the arrival of those Alphas?

My Father the King locked his two hands above the table. Deep inside him I could detect that he is disturbed by the word barren coming out of Freyah's mouth. And linking it to my mate makes me wanna break her neck!

She is lucky to be the sister of Maleficus and that I know there worth in this Kingdom.

"That is three days from now, we are still hoping Alpha Zero of the cold mountain will come. Instead of creating a war against us."

I know the Alpha we we're talking about, he is the brutal and dangerous Alpha of the cold mountain Pack. His family was trying to lead this Kingdom once, based in our wolf histories but they didn't succeed. And our family won the war, uniting all Packs by the pledge of allegiance to my Father the Alpha King.
