The King Alpha's Mate

*Carmela’s POV*

My feet is moving fast and I am breathing heavily. I’m running for my life. I don’t know since when it all started but all I could remember was this feeling of trying to get away. I know someone is chasing after me and I have to escaped.

I looked around and recognize the place, it is inside a vast forest where Jack and me used to hunt.

Where is he? I couldn't find my mate! I couldn't find anyone, all I see is an endless tress and the tall grasses that's green. I am trying to catch my breath as I stopped and placed my back behind the bark of a huge old tree. I can't see it for now, that thing that's running after me. I am not sure what it is but my gut tells me to keep moving and never let it catch me.

When the sound of dry twigs snapped on the ground, my ears was alerted. It's here! Oh my God, what should I do? I covered my mouth with my right hand and try to breathe slow.. My heart is hammering inside my chest, my mind is thinking what to do. Sweat is already starting to form in my forehead and the hairs behind my neck are standing.

Then it growled loudly just behind the tree where i am hiding.

I tried to push myself down, trying to make my figure small. And the thought crosses my mind, is this the end of me? A creature is here to end everything I have tried to put myself into. If it's going to end me, then I will no longer see my mate.

Jacks’s figure was quick to appear on my mind, his handsome features and his body laying naked next to me. I felt the passion that we shared, I felt the strong feelings I have for him. This isn't supposed to be the end. But why am I so terrified of this creature? Why am I running for my life, I am the Luna of the Royal Pack! I am Jack’s mate and the future Queen.

I have to defend myself! I have a duty to fight for the people that I love. The King and Queen of the pack have faith in me and Alpha Jack’s love have made me strong. I will not let this creature scare me and end my life. I should come out and fight!

I took three full breaths in and out, then I came out of hiding. So there it is, standing on four legs! A large brown wolf! Above all of its dangerous traits I notice the eyes that's similar to mine.

Green orbs.

“W-what do you want? Are you here to kill me?

I asked with my voice shaking and my knees that’s almost trying to fall down. I can’t hide the fear in my voice, but I am determined to stay and fight. No more running for me!

It didn't speak. But it opened it’s mouth showing the long and sharp fangs. And then I heard it spoke through my mind.

“Brave girl! But you’re voice is frightened and shaky. I couldn't help but think you are weak. I am not here to end you!

I let myself calmed for a little bit, and tried harder to shake my fear away.

“Then why are you chasing after me? Who are you?

With a much clear voice I stand firm and asked again.

“Funny, only because you are running so fast. I thought you are in for a race! You are asking who am I? What a dumb question to asked. Who do you think I am? Look closely Carmela and don't even blink!

It growled and scratch it's sharp claws on the ground. I stepped back but not able to take my eyes away. I started directly into its eyes before I scanned the body from head to paws.

The wolf indeed looked and sound familiar. A female wolf! The fur is brown and it's eyes looked like mine. She looked like...like me when I shift and turned into my wolf form. She looked like my wolf form!

Is it..perhaps possible that she is me? Am I looking into the creature that I become.

“Y-you looked like me! Are you my wolf?

I asked unsure of even the question myself. Maybe i have really lost my mind now. But then i heard it let out a loud laugh.

“Now that’s the precise answer! I am the wolf that lives inside your body. I am the strong and dominant part of your being. Alpha Jack gave life to me when you were just a weak little human and I will play a great role in you're life starting today.

“I was not hurt by a silver bullet that hit your heart. Who ever shot you thought they could kill us, but they were terribly wrong! You and me, we are invincible!

I am trying my best to comprehend the words that the wolf is putting inside my head. If this is all true or am i just dreaming.

“If that is true then how come..you are there and I..i am here? Aren't we supposed to be one?

I asked again not minding if I sound stupid against her. If she is my wolf then I don't need to fear. She couldn't harm me, that's for certain.

“Oh Carmela! You and you’re beautiful mind. We are one of course. I am only showing you this dream to help you believed and understand our true nature. The nature of a true Luna, the Alpha’s mate. After you're wedding with Jack the next King of all Alphas, our powers will be complete.”

“You will not need any protection from others! You can protect the pack and your mate too. I will help you fight your enemies and end those that would hurt you. But be careful Carmela, our life is one! We are maybe the strongest female wolf of the pack but if you die, I die too! I cannot fight alone, and so you are too.

“You can call me when you’re in trouble and you can summon me when you face a battle. I will be living deep inside you, breathing and living like you do. So be careful in your human form because in that part you are weak and in that form I cannot help you”.

“What do you mean?

“It means, when you are in human form i am sleeping. And if i am sleeping I couldn’t fight, the fight will be yours alone. We are not the same like the wolves of the pack. You are born as a human while they are born as a wolf. But together we are the strongest!

“So remember everything i told you, and remember you can shift and talk to me. If everybody ceases to support you I stay the same. Because that is the reason of my existence”.

“Now, wake up! Alpha Jack is already tired of waiting for you..

Suddenly everything is clear to me, the wolf in my blood. The things I could and couldn't do are all evident. In the blink of my human eyes she was gone. But her words still echoed inside my head.

I jerked forward gasping for breath, my eyes wide and my throat dry. All this time I was just laying in bed.

“Welcome back my love.”

I was quick to notice Alpha Jack sitting on a chair beside our bed. He's smile so contagious I can't help but feeling how great it is to be back in his arms once again.

“Oh my God! My Alpha.”

I wrapped my arms around him for a tight embrace and he pulled me closer. It feels like I’ve been away for a long time. I have missed him so much!

“I’m so glad you are back my love..i was s-so afraid, I almost thought I would lost you.”

His deep voice almost sounded brittle. I smiled and stroke his wide back.

“Not when i have someone like you waiting for my return. Oh! How i missed you so much, how long was i out?I feel really exhausted.”

Alpha Jack chuckled against my ear before pulling me out of his arms only to cupped my face and stare into my eyes.

“I will let you eat and get some rest but before that, let me have my welcome kiss first”.

I wasn’t able to answer him back when he slammed his lips against mine. The touch of his soft lips against my own have evoke a familiar feeling in my heart. It feels like home, his scent and his warm embrace. The taste of his mouth when he opened it and deepened our kissed.

It tells me how much he missed me. The way he's hands are caressing my back gives pleasure to my yearning heart.

I longed for him, I ached for his touch. A groan escaped my mouth when my body reacted against him. We both knew it wouldn't be just a welcome kiss.
