The King Alpha's Mate

*Jack's POV*

I am inclined to see the Alpha of the North came. But at the same time i have to alert my warriors, we don't know if Alpha Zero came in peace. He is deceitful and cruel from what I heard, that and the fact that his family once almost ruled as the King of all Alpha. They waged war against my grand ancestors but our family won. Being the Alpha King fall to our family’s hand.

I hastily mind linked Beta Matias as soon as Maleficus finished announcing his arrival.

"Be cautious beta, make all the warriors know. Alpha Zero is here, when the celebration is done make him stay at the chambers next to mine".

I heard a loud intake of breathe from my beta. I know he will not agree to this..

"What!? That's not a good idea Alpha. You know this man is dangerous, what if he plotted something against you?

"No buts beta, thank you for the concern. I like to know what his real intention is and keeping him closed to my chambers makes it easy to fight him. Or to secretly learn from his activities, which is at our advantage".

Beta Matias was silent for a while. "Alright Alpha Jack".

My father, King Darius stood up and waited for Alpha Zero. Who stopped in the middle of the hall. His dark predatory eyes looked like it found its prey. To my horror it was my mate that he's gawking at. How dare him! I immediately rose to my feet when my father stood up keeping me at a distance, stopping me from lashing out.

"Alpha Zero, welcome to the Langstone Palace! We're delighted to have you're presence".

My father’s loud and dominant voice was quick to draw his attention to us. His dark eyes narrowed and his lips twisted upward.

" I am not happy to be here! Let me cut to the chase, a source told me you wanted to invade the Cold Mountain Pack!

His rough voice was disturbing everyone around. The wolves stop chatting. It put him in the center of attention. King Darius, my father was surprised. But he was quick to answer him.

"Oh, may i know who's that source you are talking about? Is that reliable enough for you to come barging like a desperate man?

"Alpha Zero please be calmed and let us talk about this".

The Alpha King's voice was calm but his words are questioning him. Making him doubt of his own reasons.

"Yes, my beta will show you the proof".

He turned to his beta and the big bulky man opened a scroll with a message that's clearly written in bold letters. I stand closed to my father and we read it for ourselves.

**The Alpha of the North will fall against the war lead by the Royal Pack and it's allies. The King of all Alphas will vanquished their lands and end the Cold Mountain Pack. Let this be a warning to the wolves of the pack, join forces with the Royal Pack now! Or stay and die in the mountains of the North along with your Alpha Zero!**

"This is ridiculous! Who could have written such an outrageous message, this is clearly fraud!

My father shouted. Which made me speak for him when his patience is starting to overflow.

"Alpha Zero we did not send such false message, and that is not sealed by the King's personal symbol. We could show you how we send our messages to all our allies and the people of the pack that we cannot reached through mind link".

"I suggest you stay and investigate further, please none of us could be telling a lie. Give this alliance a chance for peace. A chance for our pack to coexist without war".

I saw how Alpha Zero tried to calm himself down by waving his hand and allowing his beta to hide the scroll.

"Alpha Zero, as these throne is my witnessed i have not authorized to send such dangerous message. I meant no harm for all the wolves".

Alpha Zero was silent, evaluating and trying to think a better decision. But my father have a much better plan.

"Why not leave the matter to our council Alpha Zero and yourself loosened up yourself for a while."

"I the King of all Alpha's humbly invites you to witnessed the wedding of my son Prince Jack to his mate Carmela White. And to attend the pledge of alliance to the new King as Jack my son, will ascend the throne".

It was obvious that the hint of confusion is visible in Alpha Zero's eyes.

Being invited in front of the other Alphas gave him a previlige which a man himself could not turn down. I silently praised my father for the bold move he made.

"Only after you prove to me that this terrible message did not come from you..Alpha King"

I saw how my father's jaw clenched together, Alpha Zero is obviously challenging him upfront. In other circumstances I would have challenged this man to a fight in order for him to see reason.

He is not dealing with a common Alpha, he is demanding to an Alpha King!

"Alright Alpha Zero, we will show you our Royal pack library to pacify the matter. That is where we keep copies of out scrolls and the books that has my seal on them".

"But before this matters... we would like you to enjoy the celebration first."

The Alpha King managed to stay calm and returned to his usual diplomatic approach, while Alpha Zero scanned the hall around. Before he nod his head and glanced at my direction.

"Oh well, I'd like to congratulate you Prince Jack for your incoming wedding. You are lucky to have found your mate."

His mouth formed a dry smile which never reached his eyes.

The situation was quickly diverted to me.

"That's true Alpha Zero i am indeed lucky."

With that i glanced back and called my mate. I will never show this man that i am troubled by his presence.

"Carmela, sweetheart please come forward and meet the Alpha of the North".

I am glad she's sitting with the Queen. I saw how my mother squeezed her hand before she stand up and move forward.

Her voice slightly trembled as she speak. "Welcome to the Langstone Palace Alpha Zero. And I personally expressed my gratitude for your presence in our upcoming wedding."

I walked beside her and hold her hand. Showing to the man in front of us how we are already united even before the coming ceremony.

Alpha Zero did not change the expression in his face.

" Oh i am not here for the wedding but to resolve my Pack's issue. But now that you have personally asked me about it, i will let myself stay."

I heard the King sighed in relief.

I am glad the Alpha of the North did not bother to hold my mate's hand. He was formal and just looking with his dark intense eyes that changes to normal black. I smirked and thought, this man has a tiny chance to be tamed if he himself found his own mate.

"I hope you found your mate too, Alpha Zero".

I added to watched curiously how he would react to the vague idea.

"I will not find my mate Prince Jack. No offense to both of you but I don't believe in that crap anymore. I live for my Pack's duty and for the mountains of the North".

My Father extended his hand to him, and before utterring another word the Alpha of the North took his hand and accepted a firm shake. The act that made me proud to be the King Alpha's son. And later on he was turning to me for the same hand shake.

I held my head high and watch him with what seemed to be a very polite way of accepting a man's hand.

My mother that was observing from the back turned on her heels and smiled at him.

"Alpha Zero, welcome to the Palace. I am confident that whatever it is that troubles you will be answered with good faith."

I watch at the corner of my eyes when the strong and crude man before, slowly dissolve his rough edges and give a hint of smile in the corner of his lips. My mother always does this thing, the Queen Luna is clever in her own little way.

She extended her delicate fingers to the man who's calloused hand I didn't think has ever held a lady's hand before. He hesitated and i could tell that he never shake hands with women, but my mother is no ordinary she wolf. She is the Queen.

"Well, that remains to be seen but you're majesty..it's my pleasure to be here".

He shook my Queen mother's hand and his movement was gentle. But I felt the tension in my father's figure beside me.

"Oh, the pleasure is mine! Now..let me take Carmela for a ladies drink. You men entertain yourselves!

"We will be seeing you around Alpha Zero."

My mother did not lost her sweetest smile turning to grab Carmela's hand but stopping for a little bit.

Then she did what she does best, she stand in front of the King. She grab my father's neck and kissed him on the lips.

I groaned in protest. But i shifted my eyes towards my mate and realized she's been looking at me for a while.

A silent exchange of bows that's what we are thinking. Looking at each other i know from now on we will overcome whatever trials that fate will throw against us. And soon the Moon Goddess and all the wolves will witnessed the love we have for each other. I just hoped our wedding happens sooner.

My Queen mother only broke the kiss when Alpha Zero pretended to clear his throat while looking away. The man was not as cold as I thought he is.
