The King Alpha's Mate

*Jack's POV*

I saw the beginning when Maleficus hold my hand. It felt real getting into the scene, my wolf blood stirred inside my body as I ambled in his mind.

It started with me leading the Royal pack against the rogues and as we prepared for battle I noticed the company of a familiar wolf. The big black wolf standing closed beside me is the wolf form of my father Darius.

How did he came along? I remembered telling him to stay at the Palace!

"Father why are you here?!

I asked with a worried and irritable scowl, mind linking him in the middle of the battlefield while we are looking at a thousand rogues against us. I never knew they were this many!

"You know I would never stay behind, I wouldn't let you deal with this alone! There were enough battles that you have won while I stay seated in the throne. Now let me help you at least, to win this war against this scoundrels ".

I didn't know what to say anymore, I watched at the rogues army of wolves.. They we're not as big or as healthy as my wolves but there eyes and claws are sharper than swords. They are ready to kill and devour my warriors if they won't fight them with enough courage and all their might.

I groaned and mind linked everyone of the warriors. "On my signal we would all kill every last one of them! They don't want a truce as everybody is in their wolf form!

It's so clear, the vision seemed so real. After shouting at the mind link, the rogues move forward in full force. Running with their mouths open, their sharp fangs in full view. Their drool is falling to the ground, howling and snarling as they get near. We held our ground and get ready for defense.

My heart thump loudly inside my chest. I shouted again in the mind linked to fight without reluctance and end their lives as quick as possible. We were outnumbered by almost a hundred wolves. But our strength is unmatched.

They came like storm! My warriors fought with all their might. The rogues were very brave, they didn't back down even when the first group that attack us was almost killed by my trusted warriors and me. I stood my ground glancing at my father, he just killed two of the enemies before looking at me.

Blood are starting to fill the green grass of the ground and the trees were painted red by spattering blood everywhere. This is what war always looked like against the wolves. We bite and chew our enemies until they lost their lives.

The action didn't stop for an hour until another group of rogues came in. My warriors are exhausted and so am I as we watch them approaching from a hundred meter distance. I didn't expect them to be this many. Oh Moon Goddess please help us now!

From a distance I saw the wolves are not the same as the first group! This time they are bigger, with eyes as red as blood. Their fangs are unusually longer and their mouths are drooling and wide. I glanced at my warriors and notice everyone panting for breath.

"My son I think we should retreat! They were too many and the warriors are weary! I fear for their lives and ours. And do we have the support of the alphas from the three regions?

My father is in panic through the mind linked and so am i. The thought of losing this battle is so difficult to bear but we need to retreat while we still have time. The other alphas will come it's what they say but it would take some time because of the distance.

"Father you go ahead first and i will follow with the warriors. We can't run all together now, it's a cowardly act not fit for an Alpha King like me".

"No! It's the wisest thing to do, my son a King doesn't always need to show that he is brave even if the pack have been outnumbered. Think about the future of the kingdom and your Queen. You need to come back alive for her. I would try and maybe distract the rogues, while you should be the first one to flee!.

I shook my head in disagreement when my father started to shift, in his human form he plans to take an attempt of talking to the rogues. The big black wolves in front of us stopped and watch as my father completely transformed.

"No! Father, please! I whined and shook my fur. I didn't want him to stand there vulnerable.

My heart is hammering inside my chest when my father began to speak.

"My fellow wolves we are all the same. Please let us stopped this battle for awhile and give ourselves a chance of getting to know each others purpose. Isn't this war have shed enough blood?

One of the rogues in the front shifted, into a black male with red eyes. I'm guessing he is their leader. His built is bigger than my father and he stood their towering in front of him. I growled loudly to alert them, if they hurt him they will pay with their lives!

"That's very bold coming from the Alpha of the Royal Pack! Shifting into a human form just to stop the fight". Let me tell you this, you're majesty. We are the wolves who doesn't worship the Moon Goddess and we are ready to kill every last one of you!

The enemies thought my father is still the Alpha King.

He mocked him in front of me. But i just stood still waiting for his signal. I know the support from the other regions is coming any minute from now. But we need to buy more time in order to completely defeat this rogues.

My father turned his face towards me, i can see the fear deep inside his orbs. He tried so hard to hide it in the man in front of him but it is visible against my eyes. I groaned in panic and moved my paws forward which earned a growl from the other wolves.

"Stop where you are wolf! You're Alpha will die if you take anymore steps!

The man shouted and snarled at me. It made my wolf lose control and jerk forward smashing him against the ground. That started the fight.

My father shifted back quickly into his wolf form and fight as the enemies attacked us in both sides. The big wolf attempted to claw my face but his big paw got stuck inside my mouth. I bit it off hard and fast that his paw dropped on the ground. A loud whimper came out of his throat followed by the cry of defeat. I jumped at him sinking my fangs against his neck as he laid in the ground scratching and trying to get away.

But his efforts failed and his body gushed out with blood. When i stopped my assault he had also stop his heart from beating.

Two other wolves fought with me but they have suffered they same fate as the first one i killed. I have already killed their leader, knowing that made me almost taste victory for the Royal Pack. I stepped back and took the head of the rogues’s leader in between my teeth.

Bearing the good news in my mind I soon tried to mind linked my father, but he is nowhere near me. I could still hear the whimpers of our enemies and our own warriors echoing throughout the forest. The sun had long been gone and the darkness has pursued. But the fight is not over and our victory is not yet confirmed.

"Father!".

I tried calling him in the mind linked again and then i heard a cough coming from him. "Are you hurt!? "Where are you?

The cold breeze of the evening wind is almost chilling my bones, that and the fact that my father is hurt.

I scanned the surroundings looking for him. It took a while before I saw him lying in the ground, with a lifeless body of a big wolf near him. He had been fighting for his life.

"Oh my Moon Goddess please no..”

I whimpered in my throat as I prayed dearly for his life.

I couldn't take my eyes off from his neck, it was horrible to see him bleeding out from a big wound just below his jaw. He had shifted back into his human form.

My body trembled when I felt his strength slowly fading away with each breath he took. Words are trying to form in his mouth but it just came out as a gurgling sound.

"No..no..no.. Please don't try to speak or say anything!

I know this is just a vision just like a dream but as I watch my father took his last breath I gritted my teeth and let out a very loud howl.

My Queen mother shouted inside the meeting hall pulling her hand away from Carmela and breaking the chain that we created to watch the vision or our wizard.

“Nooo!! That was not real Maleficus, tell me that is not going to happen!

She shouted demanding Maleficus to answer, while Carmela gasped and holds my hand firmly. My father sat back on the chair, wide eyed and dumbfounded.

It was not easy to watch his own death in a vision and I could feel his pain.

“I’m sorry, please forgive me but the vision I showed will only happen if the former King Darius joined the fight. I can have another vision with only King Alpha Jack but that should be in another day from now.”

Maleficus explained in a grim expression.

I clearly understood the message in his vision...

I sighed and glanced at Carmela holding her hand tightly. We looked at each other with a little hope.As we heard my mother sob and my father pulled her in his arms, I told myself we still have time. Maleficus will surely have another vision if we change our plans, and that I hope will spare the life of my father.
