The King Alpha's Mate

*Carmela's POV*

The vision started as blurry but the loud noise was clear enough. Wolf cries, snarling and growling. I couldn't contain the fear inside my heart.

Please don't let anything bad happen to my love King Alpha Jack. I prayed to the Moon Goddess silently.

When two wolves that are fighting caught my attention, I knew one of them is Jack. His dark grey wolf fighting on top of a big brown one on the ground. My heart almost fell out of my chest when I saw the other wolf trying to bite and claw him.

But Jack is faster and stronger, he bit on the other wolf's neck, making it whimper and cried out it's defeat.

Another wolf attacked him in the head.. A loud scream escaped my mouth. "Jack!".

He snapped back as if hearing me shout. But I knew it would be impossible. Jack hisses at the new comer, and before he was attacked again his stance is already ready for a fight.

I held my breath when Jack started to defend himself, I prayed for him to be alright. I close my eyes waiting for the fight to end. But after a while a very loud howl is heard and that's when King Alpha Jack has another attacker.

My body trembles in total panic.. “No!! Please somebody help him!!

I saw him get down and fighting with the two wolves. I am shouting in fear. But deep inside no one from that scene could ever hear me.

Jack is hurt! One of the wolves had clawed him on the chest.

Then just like a miracle came, a big black wolf jumped at the two rogues and pushed them both. Making an angry snarl, i saw the two wolves turned their fearsome eyes towards the new comer. They attacked him with a full force, that the black wolf fell down and on top of him the two wolves are pinning him. Savages that they are, they bit and clawed the black wolf that helped Jack.

I diverted my attention from them and focused on Jack. “Oh Moon Goddess please! Let him heal and be alright, let this battle end!

I saw him trying to get up he was howling, his wounds are not so deep but he looked very pained and his eyes are misty.

Suddenly I grab my own chest, it's like mirroring how he felt. My breathing uneven...i could feel it all. Jack’s painful heart. But why? Why is it that his heart is more pained than his wounds and i could feel it vividly.

A question that was answered when I saw the big black wolf killed in front of him and he couldn't move. His eyes in shocked! He wanted to get up and help but he was weakened by his wounds... Then an army of wolves came to depend the Royal pack.

But they were almost too late. More from our Royal Pack had been killed and lost their lives in the battle.

The new wolves that came and help fight the rogues are from the three regions. They were too many and quickly the rogues have been outnumbered and conquered. But my focus is now with Jack, he is very slowly gaining back his strength. Now he stands and shifted into his human form.

“Father!! No!

Jack shouted and quickly kneeled down on the big black wolf who’s lying in front of him. It struck me unexpectedly! The big black wolf who helped him is the former King Alpha Darius!

Jack groaned and touched his fur being careful not to pressed in any part of him as he is bleeding rapidly and his wounds are deep. He couldn't shift into his human form, he's too weak to do so. But I know that if he..lost his heartbeat his body will go back to a human form on its own.

Jack’s shoulders are shaking, now the wolves from the Royal pack have gathered around him but they couldn't get near. Fear and despair are written on their faces. I couldn't watch it anymore. I quickly shake off my hand and break the vision. So many questions are running inside my head.

“Maleficus! That couldn't have happened? Please tell me that the former King alpha Darius is just here in the Palace and he didn't go to help Jack!

I shouted loudly in front of his face. Gemer just sat back unable to say anything. He was also stunned and could not believe what we saw.

“Im sorry Queen Carmela that vision was already predetermined by fate.. And that vision was fulfilled an hour before you even come here. There is nothing we could do about it. Tomorrow, King Apha Jack will arrive with both the news of winning the battle against the rogues and the sacrificial death of the former King, Darius his Father.”

I inhaled sharply and shake my head.

“Oh no! Why didn't you stop the former King from going, I thought a new strategy was made!

I am now in hysterics as my heart is filled with sorrow and grief for Jack who’s in so much pain. And his father who lost his life. He didn't deserve to die. He was a good King and a good father to his son. A good wolf to everyone.

“We have seen the visions of Jack going to war alone. Queen Carmela you must understand, if it's not the former King Darius it would be King alpha Jack. No matter how much we looked at it during the last two days, the outcome was the same. One of them will die, and if we try to prevent it from happening, an even more gruesome fate awaits the whole Royal Pack”.

Maleficus explained with his eyes trying to make me understand. My teardrops fell down from my cheeks and I choked a sob. “Oh Moon Goddess I thought it would not end this way”.

“Queen Carmela, there something you must do tonight! Please I suggest you should go.”

I jerked up from looking down and frowned at Maleficus.

“What do you mean?

“I am meaning to say that, the Queen mother Helen is in a dangerous situation right now. No one could stop her, but she needed you by her side. You and the princess”.

“Oh no...Helen!!

I rose from my seat and turned towards Gemer who stood up as quickly as I did.

“Let’s go Gemer! To Queen Helen’s chambers!

In a rush we went out of the cabin. There is no time to waste, Queen mother Helen must have felt what happened to the former King! And I don't even want go think of what she would do right now.

It was a fast ride to the other side of the Palace, as both Gemer and me wanting to be there as quick as possible.

Upon the entrance, the guards have unreadable expression in their faces and that side of the Palace was so quiet. They recognized me and opened the doors for us to enter. Just when we were about to head where the Queen mother is, a door suddenly opened and princess Jasmin came out.

“Oh Carmela...they are gone!

She run towards me and we hugged each other. She’s sobbing in my shoulders and I couldn't help my tears as the reality hit me.

“Where is Queen mother Helen?”

I asked her while trying to rub her back. Somehow I already know the answer but still I am hoping that I'm wrong. Her hands tightened around me, but I didn't mind. I know how she feels and I am feeling it too.

“My mother..she..um she took poison and choose to end her life. She couldn't accept that father have lost his life in the battle”.

Her shoulders quiver and her sobs became loud. Princess Jasmin and King Alpha Jack have just lost both of their parents.

I stood still and clenched my hands. Then I closed my eyes tightly and tried so hard to stop myself from crying out loud. How fate could be so cruel for us!
