The King Alpha's Mate

* Carmela's POV*

The following morning came with so much sorrow that filled the hearts of everyone on the entire Kingdom. We have placed Queen Helen on a beautiful white coffin, she lay in there looking beautiful even in her death.

Princess Jasmin was still crying while sitting down on a chair in her white long gown, my heart couldn't bear to see her like this anymore. Her two personal servants are seated beside her too, giving her strength and trying their best to calm her down.

But I as the Queen Luna have to be strong, I kept telling my own self I should remain steady and keep the Palace together. Even just until Jack arrived, for what is the used of me being Queen if I am to broke down and cry when the wolves have no one else to turn to.

Majority of the female omega's are crying and kneeling beside the beautiful coffin. Maleficus stood beside them with his eyes closed and his mouth praying, chanting words to make the Queen at peace. Gemer sat one seat apart from me, waiting for my order.

I lay my back on the chair, waiting for the signs that King Alpha Jack is coming.. Just then we heard the howling of the pack warriors at the gate. And so, I rose from my seat followed by Gemer, there's no doubt that Jack have arrived. The warriors outside are mourning, they already know that the former King is gone and so is the Queen mother.

The former King Alpha Darius, who's body is now entering the huge Palace gates is being carried by the survivors from the battle lead by Beta Michael, who's walking behind King Alpha Jack.

As I stood outside with Gemer and the number of the pack warriors who stayed with us in the Palace. I saw Jack coming and that moment I sniffed him in the air. We waited at the huge entrance of the Palace hall.

From the distance I am smelling his scent, I felt his sorrow and his grief. I couldn't wait anymore, wearing my long white gown, I hold it with my two hands from my knees and pull it up so that I could run in them.

And I run towards him..he is walking with his shoulders down, bare from the waist to up, he still looks hot in just a torn trouser which is tainted with blood. My heart is pained by looking at the expression on his face, and his chest wounds that is still on the process of healing affected me like I've been wounded too.

"Jack!!".

I run to him and throw my arms above his neck. He looked at me with a very tiny bit of happiness, without saying anything he picked me up from the ground and crushed me in his arms for a tight embrace.

"I'm sorry Jack, I'm so sorry..."

I whispered beside his ears. I felt his body stiffened and his shoulders shake. There is no sound coming from him but I know he is crying. His bottled emotion vibrated through his body and I tried my best to soothe his pain.

"I love you Jack.. Please tell me how can I make everything alright? Let me know if there is something you want me to do".

I whispered feeling my own tears which flowed freely on my cheeks. We feel the same pain and sorrow, through the mate bond we are one.

"T-there is nothing you could do Carmela, my Queen...They are gone, my father and mother is gone. The Moon Goddess have allowed this to happen in order to help this Pack survive once more. But for how long? Right now, this have made me agitated. But stay with me my love, i know you can make me feel alright. You are my strength..don't ever leave my side".

His voice is weak, this is the first time that Jack showed his vulnerable side to me. And I could deeply empathize, I wiped my tears with my own hands and cupped his face with both.

Looking at his eyes whose still damp from the tears that he just shedded behind my back is almost killing me. I began to say the words he needed to hear the most.

"I would never leave you..you know that. I am here all the time, beside you, loving you and will support you until the end of time. Don't ever doubt that my love".

I said and give him a kiss on the lips which he returned with so many emotions. His need for my support, his grieving heart, his sorrows and despite all that his being grateful for having me by his side.

"Thank you my Queen." Jack murmured.

We broke the kiss and hold hands while walking slowly to the Palace hall.

Princess Jasmin noticed his arrival and gets up from the chair. She run to him and he hugged her tight.

"B-brother, I'm sorry. It was too late when I noticed the wine glass that mother is drinking. I was not able to stop her on time. The poison was fast and it stopped her heart before we even realized that it is what she took".

She sobs and explained while her voice trembles in a deep regret.

"It's not your fault, even I couldn't stop our father from sacrificing himself in the battlefield. So many strategies have thought and reconsidered but the outcome was the same. Their sacrifice will never be in vain. Please try your best to be strong Jasmin. Our family has been fated to lead the wolves and only the Moon Goddess knows every twist and turn that we have to face".

Princess Jasmin groaned and broke from his arms.

"What a cruel fate we have! If i have given a chance to choose as to be the daughter of an Alpha King, or to be a member of the chosen family as the Pack leaders, i would chose not to get involved in both! Instead i would chose to be a commoner!

I gasped hearing the words from Princess Jasmin, as he expressed her regrets that runs deeply because of this tragedy.

"No Jasmin! Don't ever say that in front of our Queen mother and father who's an Alpha King, their deaths was not only for you and for me but for the entire pack as well."

"But this is so unfair Jack! Why them? Why does it has to be our parents. Why do they have to be the people to make the sacrifice, why not the other wolves?...and why does it has to be a King and A Queen's death?I hope the Moon Goddess could answer me that! Because right now i don't really understand.. All i could think about is how it is so unfair, and how it is so painful to have both of our parents gets taken together at the same time".

Jasmin continued to cry and walked towards the coffin of Queen Helen. And just like a candle whose light is fading away and melting, i saw her slowly kneels down on the ground.

I stopped Jack from following her by holding his hands. "Let her be my love, allow both of you're hearts to grief and accept the situation".

I squeezed his hand and in return Jack pulled me for a tight embrace. Maleficus comes toward us.

“I’m sorry King Alpha Jack, but at this moment I would like all of you to know..”

He glanced back at Princess Jasmin to make sure she is listening as well. Jack frowned while starting at Maleficus and he continue.

“The former King and Queen knew this was going to happen, my vision was clear right after you found you mate..Queen Carmela, and so they planned you to take over the throne as quickly as possible. Their fate was predetermined no matter what ways we have thought to avoid it. You're father King Darius has to make the sacrifice but I never thought that the Queen mother will end her precious life until later yesterday. She loved him so much, your mother was a true Queen who loved her King until death”.

Alpha King Jack gritted his teeth while listening, and Princess Jasmin cried louder and the same goes to the other wolves around.

I didn't say a word but I felt my own tears flowing freely on my cheeks. My heart bleeds for the former King and Queen, if only there’s anything i could do to prevent this tragedy.

The servants took the former King’s body to get him ready for the burial and later on there were to elegant coffin in the middle of the huge Palace hall.

It was the most grievous moment of our lives.
