The King Alpha's Mate

*Carmela's POV*

It was a week after Jack's encounter with the rogues, most of the things have returned to normal and everybody seemed to have adapted to living without the former King and Queen.

Their passing is still in our hearts and mind, and their memory will live on forever. Jack is again busy with the Pack but not so much as to forget his duties to me, as her Luna and his Queen.

Princess Jasmin has been waiting for the next full moon, in order to try and see through Maleficus and his visions. The identity of her mate, as the only one she wanted to have for her eighteenth birthday. She have not talked to Jack about it, but with me, it's the only theme that we talked about almost every single day that we met.

It was almost sundown when Princess Jasmin came to our chambers and asked for my company.

"Oh Carmela, tonight is a full moon. Can you please come with me to see Maleficus in his cabin?".

Looking at her glowing face and lively appearance, I walked down the stairs of our chambers slowly. She's standing on the lower hall eagerly waiting for me, and I know she's expecting that I would say yes. I smiled and shrugged my shoulders.

"Why not Jas? I have not noticed that tonight is going to be a full moon. But I'm guessing we could see through the vision of Maleficus, there is a big chance that the identity of your mate will be revealed tonight".

Her smile towards me is full of energy and expectations that tonight is finally the moment that she has been waiting for. To see her mate's face, to know his name and where he is staying.

"Yes Carmela, come on let's go. I have just mind linked Gemer and he is waiting outside for us."

"Alright, no time to waste then". I indulged her.

She holds my hand while walking out of the entrance door. I followed her feeling a positive vibe, her cheerful mode is contagious. I wonder who is her mate? Is he from the Royal Pack or from the other region's pack? But all I know is that the Alpha's of the other regions have their mate. Well, that is only the three regions. The East, West and South. I never heard of Alpha Zero's woman from the North, regarding his Luna or his mate is never heard.

But could he be Princess Jasmin's Mate?

I frowned and shivered, that Alpha is vicious and ruthless. I hope it's not him. I sighed and watched Princess Jasmin walked slowly ahead of me. What are the odds if he is..

The drive to Maleficus cabin was silent. And when we get down from the car, I couldn't helped but look up at the sky and see if the moon has already come out. There's no sign of it yet, but maybe in about less than one hour it would finally take a peek through the clouds.

Gemer stayed back in the car while we headed to the front porch of Maleficus.

Just in time, his door opened and revealed the old man.

"Welcome Queen Carmela and Princess Jasmin. I am just waiting for the full moon to come out and with your arrival as well".

"Thank you Maleficus". We replied almost at the same time.

I've let Princess Jasmin get in the cabin first while smiling at the old wizard. The white candles inside his cabin has been replaced by red and the windows are open.

"I want to get started Maleficus, the full moon will be out any moment now".

Princess Jasmin stated while sitting in a chair at the front of the table. I sat on the chair across from her and Maleficus in the center. I stay silent in my seat, just observing as Maleficus gets ready to open the vision for us to watch and see for ourselves.

"Just one more minute Princess Jasmin, I humbly asked for your patience. Tonight is the Full wolf Moon and you will see my vision as clear as day".

Princess Jasmin smiled and sat back on the chair. The excitement radiating in her eyes.

When the right moment finally came, Maleficus held out his two hands for us and we both hold it to form the circle on top of his table. We both closed our eyes and let Maleficus start his vision for Princess Jasmin and her mate.

It was dark at first, and then there is light. The light of the moon, we have seen the familiar woodland and the vast bed of green grasses on the ground. The air has the scent of pines and the setting is so familiar that I have no doubt it is just inside the Royal Pack territory.

Suddenly a howling noise is heard and we watch as the pack of wolves are running fast across the lands, the pack was unfamiliar to me. The wolves are big and their leader runs faster, his color is very unusuall and is standing out from the rest. His thick coat as white as snow but his eyes are a contrast because they are red. He has the body of a very powerful wolf, his fangs are sharp and his tail is thick. But he looked beautiful despite the vicious eyes.

I heard the gasps from Princess Jasmin as she focuses on the big white wolf. They seemed to have been chasing their prey which lasted for quiet sometime. But then we have no idea how he looked in his human form so we waited until he would shift. But the wolves ran farther and didn't stop, the vision started to get blurry.

"Oh no! I need to see him shift Maleficus!".

Princess Jasmin raised her voice when Maleficus had stopped the vision.

I opened my eyes and took a deep breath, there is something familiar about the wolf and the setting where they ran. It seemed that they are there to chase the rogues, I have only known a group of wolves who chase the rogues inside the Royal Pack Territory and it happened just one week ago.

"I apologized Princess Jasmin, I have to stop now. The white wolf is your mate, but we couldn't see his human form because it is cloaked. And my vision stopped when they went out of the Royal Pack territory. It could only mean one thing".

I held my breath when Maleficus almost said the identity of the big white wolf.

"Tell me what does it mean Maleficus?".

Princess Jasmin requested impatiently.

"Yes Maleficus please enlighten us so Princess Jasmin will have time to think if she would take this wolf as her mate or otherwise..."

I hanged my words when Princess Jasmin made a quick glanced towards me.

"What do you mean by that Carmela? Do you already know who is the white wolf? Did you learn the identity of my mate, from the vision?Please tell me, because whoever he is..i don't think of ever rejecting him. I would gladly accept him with open arms even if he is not an Alpha or a Beta".

Princess Jasmin explained with hope in her eyes. She just wanted her mate, I could understand that but I think her safety should come first.

"I am not sure of it Jas, please why don't we listen the the rest of what Maleficus has to say."

I sighed and turned to the old man. His eyes are dark and a worried frown is clearly visible in his forehead.

"You're mate is an Alpha Princess Jasmin. One of the strongest wolf in the regions.. The Apha of the North. The only Alpha who have not yet accepted a mate." Maleficus tried to be calm as much as possible but Princess Jasmin was surprised by the truth.

"What!?.. The Alpha of the North?

Princess Jasmin stand up from her chair and walked back and forth inside the cabin. His reputation is known to her.

"How could this be true?.. There is only one alpha in the North. His name is Alpha Zero!".

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath when Princess Jasmin mentioned his name.

"There's no doubt he is the one Princess Jasmin, Alpha Zero of the North is your chosen mate."

Maleficus confirmed without an ounce of hesitation in his voice.

"Oh no, are you absolutely certain about this? Maybe he is just one of the wolf from the Cold Mountain Pack but not the Alpha...not Alpha Zero."

Princess Jasmin mumbled while sitting down on the chair again.

"You felt his energy Princess, and maybe now you can't feel the mate's pull yet but get ready on the night of your birthday. Because you will be dreaming about him, and your wolf form will cry out for him and beg him to continue the mate's bond".

Princess Jasmin was wide eyed while listening to the old wizard and I sat back on the chair while listening. I know how it works, I have felt it when Jack turned me and I craved for him. It never stopped until I was marked. And then there's the heat which comes with it.

Then Maleficus continued his words while we just listen.

"There is just one more problem Princess Jasmin. Alpha Zero of the North, have masked his scent. So that makes him unable to smell his mate, that only means you get to know him as your mate but he will never know you as one. He can only smell you as a she wolf and nothing else. But don't worry so much, we still have the time to find a way in order for your scent to work with him. I can make it happen, just give me time to make the poison work."

I watched at Princess Jasmin and her cold stare at Maleficus. "No Maleficus, thank you. I owe this all to you, but if my mate doesn't want me then let it be. I don't need to force myself to anyone, I am a Princess of the Royal Pack and I have a choice".

My heart felt the pain in her response. She might try to save face but how soon can she continue to ignore the mate's pull when it happened, I wonder...

I hoped there's another mate waiting for Princess Jasmin, perhaps a second chance mate.
