The King Alpha's Mate

*Carmela's POV*

After a week's training with the warriors from the cold mountain pack, Jack and i decided to held a grand dinner to welcome their hard work. The Royal pack warriors have improved, in fighting skills and tracking down rogues. All thanks to the training with the cold mountain pack's warriors.

As i stared at myself in the full length mirror, I couldn't help but thought how flat my stomach is. No signs of me getting pregnant or carrying an heir, if I have it would have showed in my body. I have on a skin tight evening gown in silver color. With embroidered stones and beads, it glitters and defines my every curve. The slit on the left side made it possible for me to walk comfortably, in my feet is a three inch high heels in same color.

"Are you ready love?".

Jack came inside with a smile. He looked gorgeous in a navy suit, with his muscular body stretching the fabric wonderfully. To me he is the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes upon.

Our eyes meet and his showed admiration and love, and so are mine.

"Yes, I am."

"You looked stunning by the way, I'm sure Alpha Zero will think twice why he doesn't have a mate tonight". Jack said with humour while he holds my hand and we walked out of the room.

"Thanks my love, you looked gorgeous yourself". I smiled without humour. Two things are disturbing my thoughts, one is conceiving an heir and the other is Princess Jasmin.

I couldn't help but wonder where she is at the moment. She has not contacted me in almost a week now. But I didn't voice out my worries to Jack. I know Princess Jasmin is somewhere unreachable through mind link.

When we arrived at the huge Palace hall, everybody was giving their glances towards us. I have not seen Alpha Zero and his other warriors yet. There were just a few of them around.

We headed unto the big center table and Jack pulled out a chair for me, before he let himself be seated in the middle chair next to mine. The servants serve us drinks, but I only choose water to drink water for now. After a while Maleficus has arrived.

"A pleasant evening Alpha King Jack and Queen Luna Carmela, I apologize for coming a little late".

"It's alright Maleficus, please come have a seat".

I nodded to him while Jack motioned him to sit by his left side across me. Maleficus followed and we waited for the Alpha of the North. When the music suddenly stopped and Alpha Zero came in with three beautiful ladies by his side, and his Beta.

The women where a sight for sore eyes with their gowns barely covering themselves. One of them looked familiar, the one from the training grounds. She smiled towards us and they walk to our table.

"A pleasant evening King Alpha Jack and Queen Carmela".

Alpha Zero greeted us with a tiny smile in his face.

"Evening Apha Zero, please take a sit."

Jack signaled the servants to bring food while the new guests sat at our table. I couldn't help but notice the three women. The grey haired, the blonde and the one with a red head.

"Let me introduced the three women here with me now my King. This is Ayah the leader of the three, next to her is Gretta and Samana. You all know Ayah as a good warrior and a witch, she is with me in my travels most of the time. While these two Gretta and Samana are my lady warriors as well but they help with my battles differently."

I arched my brows as to what does he mean by his words? Does it mean he uses the two for seducing the enemy, because by how they dressed up and looked, it's the only idea that comes to my mind. And just what kind of other services they could do?

Jack cleared his throat while Maleficus pretended like hearing nothing and continued to put food on his plate.

"Oh they are lovely! Thank you for bringing them to the Royal pack."

I turned my head and looked at Jack while he genuinely smiled to the women beside Alpha Zero. As they sat down on the chairs, the two women have their eyes stick to Jack like I didn't exist.

"This celebration is in honor of the Cold Mountain pack warriors who help trained the Royal pack while my Beta is still nursing his injury. So I'd like to thank you personally Alpha Zero".

Jack raised his hand in the air while holding a glass of wine. Alpha Zero nod and raised his wineglass in the air as a response to him.

"It's an honor to be trusted by the Alpha King and to the alliance of our packs".

We then raised all our wine glasses all together and take a sip at the wine.

As we started eating our food, I couldn't help but feeling annoyed as the two women kept their eyes glued to Jack.

"By the way my King, how long before you can make an heir? I heard this Kingdom needs it, so that the trust from your alliances remains. There are rumors that the three regions are already debating as to who the next Alpha King will be..if you couldn't have one heir to show them".

Alpha Zero commented like it was nothing but his words had strike a nerve in my body, I wonder if these rumors are true. My utensils made a little noise when I dropped them on my plate.

"Oh! that's too early to tell. Everybody knows my Queen and I just got married, and yes we still haven't conceive. But soon we will”.

Jack defended me. I was gaping at Alpha Zero when I realized the hint of amusement in his eyes. He is just teasing or more like playing with my feelings. Damn! He has no right to do so. And then one of the women in the table spoke.

“My King if you need an heir so bad, why not take a mistress and then you can have as many as you want. I am sure the Queen won't mind if we are to think about the future of your pack”.

My eyes almost fell out of my socket and my hands that hold a wine glass shakes. How dare this woman suggested a crap like that.

“That’s a very good recommendation, what’s your name again?”. I asked her but still holding on to the last drop of my patience. Finally I didn't hold back my tongue and managed to speak. I am about to teach this woman a lesson.

“Gretta,my Queen.”

She answered flashing out her pearly white teeth. I wanted so bad to pull her hair and bang her pretty head against the plate that’s in front of her, maybe then she would realized her own mistakes.

“Gretta, I am not your Queen. You are a guest in this table that's why I am treating you like one. I am the Luna of this pack and I don't like where this conversation is going. So I'm gonna have to ask you nicely, leave this table before I cut off your tongue”.

The women in the table gasped while Jack’s stare is glued against my right side but he surprisingly doesn't say a word. Letting me be in charged of the situation. The woman turn to Alpha Zero as if asking for his help. But the Cold Alpha just shrugged his shoulders.

“Go ahead Gretta, before the Queen Luna beat you up in your seat. I didn't remember giving you permission to speak in this occasion, you just can't hold that sharp tongue of yours. Now you have to leave.”

With his words, the woman named Gretta drag the chair backwards causing it to make a little noise while she got up and leave the long table. I sighed and drink the glass of wine, I was not planning to drink tonight but the bitch made me to.

I felt Jack’s hand squeezing my right thigh under the table. But I am still annoyed and I kept my eyes on the plate in front of me. The other two women around the table stayed silent.

“I apologized Queen Carmela, I never would have said anything to Alpha King Jack and upset you.”

Alpha Zero is not the one to apologized but I am surprised by how he uttered an apology to me. Then he stood up from the table.

“Let me just take care of something urgent from one of my warriors, I will be back King Alpha and Queen Carmela”.

“Take your time Alpha Zero.” Jack replied while I just nod my head.

“Are you alright love?”.

Jack squeezed my hand again and asked me.

“Oh I am fine, but I didn't realized that the wolves all over the regions are waiting for an heir that bad.”

I looked him in the eye and I wanted to know which side he is taking, if I am not able to conceive.

“Do not worry about it love, we still have time. This Kingdom is ours and no one can replace our lineage in the throne. I have faith that the Moon Goddess will soon blessed us with an heir, so that this rumors would stop.”

I smiled at Jack’s enthusiasm and forgot the reason why I was upset.
