The King Alpha's Mate

After that brief unpleasant encounter with Alpha Jack i stayed in the room waiting for the time when my family would come just like he said. I am anxious that my father would do something about my frightening situation. He's a hunter and i once saw him with a group of men fighting for the same purpose. But I don't want him to get hurt, I've seen how strong the Alpha is. In that vision that Maleficus showed me.

Feeling the hunger creeping in my stomach i opened the tray of food that Gemer left a few hours ago. It is now a cold steak and a steamed broccoli with some baby carrots that looks flat after it has gotten cold, with a mashed potato on the side. I wrinkled my nose and put the cover back. Then just grab an apple on the side table. This will have to do until the dinner time.

Feeling a little tired and exhausted i sat down the bed finishing the Apple in my right hand. I lie down half of my body in the softness of the fine wide bed with just my back, while my feet is hanging loosely on the floor. I closed my eyes hoping that whenever I opened it again I'll be in a different place in a different time.. If only I could escape this place.

I fail to realize that my mind is slowly drifting into a shallow sleep.

I don't know how long i was out before someone came into the room.

"Carmela, wake up". A woman's voice echoed through my ears but I can't see her.

I moaned in protest and tried reaching out my hands then i grab something soft and the familiar fingers intertwined with mine.

"Huh! I gasped and opened my eyes suddenly. Then i saw my sister Hannah sitting down in the bed beside me. I am holding her hand.

"Oh... Hannah! You're here". I get up and throw my arms around my sister's neck to give her a hug.

"Yes I'm here, we we're so worried about you since the other day. How have you been? Are you feeling alright? She ran her hand through my hair and behind my back. Her voice a little worried and her body tensed.

"I..I'm fine but I want to go home. Did Daddy came with you?

"Yes, he is downstairs talking to the Alpha Prince Jack". I immediately moved away from my sister's embrace hearing how she manage to address my abductor like she knows the man herself.

"He's talking to him? Are you going to take me home now? I'm very much hoping she would say yes but she turned her head away from me before she answered my question.

"It's a little complicated Carmela, you are an Alpha's mate and not just any alpha but the future Alpha King of the Royal Pack". She blinked her eyes before she looked at me.

"What's the complication? Isn't Dad a hunter, he hates them. He should take me away from here. Please Hannah let me go home with you". I put my hands on her shoulders with my voice softly begging.

"I..i don't have a say in the matter Carmela, but Dad said there's nothing we can do. We can't fight the Alpha King, he is very powerful and his pack is the strongest. They will hunt us if we take you away, and there's no escape for us. There numbers are all over the world Carmela..and.

"And what!? I'm almost hysterical as i stand up and walked away with my back facing my sister. I have lost my last hope.

"They offer a huge sum of money for our family to start a new life. Jack's Diner will also be given to our father and they will build schools and provide jobs for the homeless in this town. It's a huge deal Carmela, I could stop working and finally go to college. Our Dad could also stop hunting and focused on doing business."

My eyes grew wide in a great surprised. My sister sounds so thrilled and happy while i am going to be in pain for the rest of my life. The people around me will be living in luxury while i am going to lose my humanity in due time that the Alpha declared. I couldn't believe my own father and my sister, the people I considered family will sold me out for a better life. I couldn't help but sob.

Hannah was quick to hug me from the back and i just felt so weak to remove he arms around me. Somehow i needed it, the warmth of my sister's embrace even though they have betrayed me.

"I'm so sorry Carmela, please don't cry. It isn't so bad being married to the Alpha King, he will protect you with his life forever. He will love you and in return you would also when you accept him".

I can't stop my tears from falling down my face like two water leaks from a bucket of water. I felt the pain of betrayal from my very own family, the very people whom I expected to save me from this place.

"I..i'm not going to accept him, never! I can't lose my humanity and be married to a beast. I want to remain as a human".

Hannah gasped in horror while removing her arms around me. I tried drying my tears with the back of my hands and smoothing down the dress that i am wearing.

"Don't say something like that Carmela! an Alpha and a Prince is a supreme being not just an ordinary beast. It is your fate to be chosen as his mate, that's not something him or you decided it's a decision from our makers above and perhaps for a greater purpose.

Think about how you can provide a better life for other people Carmela, not just yourself. I mean, I don't want to sound rude to you. But consider yourself blessed to be in a situation where you have the ability to change lives so why not make the most of it".

Did i just hear that from my very own sister? She wanted me to do this for the sake of others. Well what a noble thing to do, i told myself sarcastically. Just then we heard two knocks on the door before it opened.

"Hi, I apologize if I interrupted something but the Alpha and Mr. White is already waiting in the dining table". An awkward face of Gemer in the door made us both looked at him.

My sister smile and walked passed me to greet him. "Hello I'm Hannah, Carmela's older sister".

I arched my brows when she extended her hand for Gemer.

"Hey, I'm Gemer. Nice meeting you Hannahand I'm glad you came to visit Carmela but you two should be going downstairs now before the food gets cold". He gave a small smile and turned to walk back where he come from.

Hannah looked at me with an expression of awe and excitement. That is weird. "Let's go Carmela, dinner is ready".

I didn't say a word and just walked with her.
